Engelbert Humperdinck is an English pop singer that is considered a national treasure in his home country of the United Kingdom. After a couple of decades playing saxophone in nightclubs, Engelbert rose to prominence as a singer thanks to hits such as 1966's "Release Me". This song was a massive hit in his home country, and subsequent songs became hits across the world. Through the 1970s, Engelbert was an international superstar. Although he inevitably left the spotlight in the 1980s and beyond, he remained a consistent performer for the rest of the 20th century. He was still touring and performing into the 2000s.

Around 10 years ago, Engelbert's longtime wife, Patricia was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The two had been married since 1964, and had four children together. Despite numerous infidelities on Engelbert's part during the early days of their marriage, he loved his wife very much. The diagnosis was difficult for both of them, but Engelbert decided he was going to dedicate most of his time and energy to doing everything he could to try and prevent the Alzheimer's symptoms from worsening.
As a result of his quest to eliminate his wife's diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, Engelbert sought out many alternative medicine practitioners. His goal was to try every single thing he could think of in hopes that one thing might work. Something appeared to be working, as his wife's Alzheimer's symptoms didn't seem to worsen much over the decade after her diagnosis. However, something else was going to come along and negate any progress that the two were making.
In early 2022, COVID-19 entered the household of Engelbert and his wife. Although Engelbert quickly overcame the virus, Patricia's Alzheimer's symptoms worsened the damage she received. Soon, it was announced that Patricia had passed away. Before she passed, Engelbert gave a passionate plea on social media for fans to pray for his beloved wife. Engelbert Humperdinck is desperate - hear his plea.

I just watched a video of Engelbert and his battle to save his wife's life I wish you all the best and God bless him
My grandmother loved him. I’m so sorry for his loss. 😔
Engelbert I truly sorry about your wife as I to lost my love this past March 11, 2021 my IRIS was only 59 years old she suffered a great deal with covi. We had 11years July 13 would have been 12 years. She was a amazing woman always Rest in peace to both of them.

A man without love. To many to count. A true legend
Engelbert Humperdinck I love you music and I'm so sorry that your wife passed away
I love his music, too. Engelbert should have honored his marriage vows and not cheat on his wife. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
He was always my favorite
Very sad, at least she is no longer suffering.
He is in his home in the UK! Said he would be there for month’s! Englebert snd Tom Jones were the guys back in the days!
I you were an obese, aging housewife. Englebert, Tom, and Elvis.
Sorry to hear about his wife finally passing. Engelbert was my mother's absolute favorite. In her 70s and up to her 80s she was quite like a groupie, even flying across the country to attend one of his shows. I saw him at the Delmar Fair around 1989. Standing only 20 or 30 feet away from him I was quite taken that each song he sang (singing 45 minutes to an hour perhaps -- nonstop) was just like you would hear on his recorded versions. Some voice, and many wonderful song selections. Carry on, Engelbert. your fans still love you.
Love his music from childhood .
He was never a fool, merely a true humanitarian with a phenomenal love for his family. My mother passed away on 04/30/2012 82YO, she slept that night listening to her favorite 8-Track of Englebert Humperdink, and loved him more than my father, but she was a PhD at 28 & completed a secondary doctorate at 33 YO, and always had her 8-Tracks of Englebert Humperdink, and it made her immensely happy to hear his voice, she was still lecturing at 82 YO full time & she was not a fool because she also dabbled in the same types of healing as her heartthrob Englebert yet she knew this since the early 70’s , and I truly feel ,she lived 12-15 years longer than her colleagues & peers , because she was devoted to this type of healing.
After the loving I love this man and his music. One of the finest..sorry for ur loss ...great man.ty for great songs over the years
My fav songs, After the Loving, Eternally, Only you Love, to name many else that I love
My Mom's favorite. Sad about his wife. Mom met him in NY once. She passed a couple of years ago but I still think of her whenever I see or hear Engelbert's name mentioned or hear one of his songs.
His wife once said engleberts had enough paternity suits to paper their bedroom walls 😆.
I am so sorry he lost his wife, praying he can get back to Preforming around the world love you Engelbert Humperdinck
Good morning Engelbert, so good to see you, missed you yesterday. I am glad you are home there in England, and enjouying your home and the beautiful grounds, and gardens.Congradulations again on your award. And remember we love you around the world.

STAY STRONG , Idol...., MILLIONS of your fans are hoping for your well-being and return to Live Concerts. CONGRATS on your MBE Honor, Sir. From the Philippines.
You did all that was humanly possible and God does answers our prayers, but not always what we hope for. It's more about what God sees as best. Just wanted to add, that my favorite song of your's is "Love is All." So beautiful, but far from the only one. There's another that's not widely known, I don't think, called "If You Love Me, Really Love me" Love it.!!
My Grandmother was in his Atlanta Fan Club. She met him once. He is a super nice guy. She loved him so much!
I loved all his songs.
The last waltz was my favorite song.
I am huge fan of Engel and the healing properties of his voice. He’s the best singer and all around performer of the last 50+ years. Spanish Eyes and The Last Waltz are my favorite songs. Just this past week he was awarded a MBE on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. He deserves that and more.
Thanks for this video. You were mostly correct.
May god bless him always ,he is the best in every way . Love all his music and songs and his ever so beautiful voice.
I always loved his music!! My dad also loved him; he died from Alzheimer’s. “Man Without Love” is one of my favorites. (He’s still a very handsome man! 🥰) I find it reassuring that he believes in the power of prayer. 🙏
"Release Me" was also a hit in the US. Also in the US, he had a hit with "Winter World of Love."

Now that's an exceptional human being.
So when do we start praising men that cheat in their wives. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I have such fond memories of spending the weekend with my grandparents & listening to my grandmother sing along with his records on her stereo.
His classic voice was just so AWESOME....A star in every sense n my dadz favourite singer
For a great dose of Englebert play to beautiful to last. Real loud...
Oh Yes!!!!! Lol 😆
I always loved him !everything he sings 🌹♥️. Sorry for his loss
His wife must have been a beautiful lady to put up with his womanizing and keeping the family together
I rewrote plenty of his songs into food songs as he looks more like he ate a ham. For example, After My Cookin' - I'm a Better Ham - Oh Please Release Them (a song about greasing the cookie pan).
His wife deserved better.
@@harperstacey9604 Engelbert, you are a pretty handsome man, just lovely, I feel for women that have to live under a cheating man and to keep the famlly together. He must have been very good to her. Besides, if she would have divorced him, she probably would have gotten someone worse. Oh well, life goes on.
@@marylamb7031 there's something wrong with you. A good woman does not deserve a cheating husband. Engleberts' wife would have a decent man if she had divorced humperdinck. Women don't have to put with cheating husbands. What if englebert humperdinck gave his wife a sexual disease? Did you think about that? You are so stupid and gullible.
If you read his autobiography What’s in a Name, he asked Patricia to write a chapter on his adultery. She says she didn’t leave him because she always knew that he loved her. She says she was hurt, of course, but she always knew she was the love of his life. The way he took care of her after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s pretty much says just that. He admits his adultery and said he’s sorry for hurting her. He says he let the stardom go to his head for several years but found his way back to Patricia and a more grounded life.
Engelbert and Patricia, sweet memories 💞💞
For the loss of your wife I will keep you in my prayers.
I lost my Mum suddenly. It never prepares you Nothing can. It does get easier with time and support from family and friends. My Dad had been with my Mum for 54 years, I shifted in with Dad and run the house for him and keep him company, and learn as much as i can from him. We never got along when I was younger, but I had to change, and Dad had to change. That is what a sudden death brings to the family, change, we have to be able to adapt to the changing environment. But it takes time to do so.
Definitely a “Mr Nice Guy”.
He's definitely not a nice guy. Any man that cheats on his wife is not a nice guy. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Sending prayers to him and his family❤️
No thoughts?
Yes, I always liked his music. It’s sad to hear about his wife’s passing- their marriage demonstrates what true love is.
@@stephaniewilson6031 true love is when you don't cheat on your spouse.
@@harperstacey9604 Exactly!
My favorite song is "After the Lovin'". Probably his last hit. It was big in very early 1977.
I rewrote and sing this song: After My Cookin'.
after the lovin is one of my fav,s too love it,
@D J His career was biggest in the 60's. He and Tom Jones hit the scene at about the same time but Tom went further faster. Englebert took his name from the writer of a lullaby possibly in the 1800s. We sang it at school. Maybe I'll look it up. I always preferred E. H. He was more of a gentleman when he performed.
Sorry to hear about his wife's death from Alzheimers and Covid. Stay strong Engelbert.
He has many talents and has goodways. Everyone should stay in shape and do not think about aging. Prayers for healings does work. He is handsome, talented, and a good man.
Not a good man, adulterer
@@TinekeWilliams a lot of men are unfaithful to their spouse. I do not condone it.
