“Sorry about Kayas mic” says Charlie out of a guitar amplifier
this shit has me ROLLING
😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for verbalising what i felt 😂😂😂
it's funny how Charlie has worst sound compared to Kaya xD
Andrew is the only one with a decent sounding mic this episode.
@YeaMan yea man
It's all part of big Jerky meddling.
@YeaMan shut up
No kidding what happened?
Unfortunately his brain is no better than the rest of them. This dude just said during WW2 you may not even realize a war is on if you weren’t hearing the bombs insinuating that during the great war life was basically normal😂 . Bro we’re talking about a real war here no skirmish due to our world policing that we’ve been doing ever since the 90s . NBC drug for I’m sure the world German farmers I had no idea there was a war going on except for the fact the sky was red because there nearest city was burning to the ground after being firebombed all night but you know I’m sure if you were right next to the bombs you may not even know there’s a war going on
'wow, lobotomies were fucked' -Kaya the ventriloquist, with a glowing smile
The Lobotomy was inspired by what happened to rail worker Phineas Gage, who had a rail spike shot through his skull destroying part of his frontal lobe. He survived, he had all his faculties intact, but his personality had drastically changed.
"oh yeah I shouldn't be alive" *dies*

My dad had that exact surgery years ago (his right temporal lobe removed due to epilepsy). It was the most horrifying time of my life. I was very young and back then my dad was my superhero, my world. Family were telling me “he might not make it”. I never got my “daddy” back, his personality switched completely and he then ran off to the Philippines to get a young woman pregnant, then leave the country and two kids to return to England. It’s sad. Goodbye dad, I miss the old you.
When someone’s personality changes, it feels like they’re dead and gone. Look after your loved ones before life catches up to them.
The surgery did get rid of the epilepsy, only at the cost of his personality and thinking brain.
Edit: can someone please tell me the difference of a lobectomy and a lobotomy? Are they the same thing? Because it was done properly in a proper London hospital and I don’t think they’d do it if it was this?
That's terrible. I'm so sorry.
@@KrepsyK aw thank you so much, it’s good! I hope you have a nice day.
Lobotomy be definition means "to cut into the brain" so nothing is actually removed, just sliced up. That's the -otomy part of the word "to cut". Lobectomy means "to remove a part of the brain", so actually cutting a piece of the brain then removing it. That's the -ectomy part of the word "to remove".
That's about all I remember from high school Med-Term class lmao
My sister bought a helix mattress and told me it's like sleeping with all the official podcast bois at once
True she told me that too, it was a comfortable bed!
If you actually have a sister it's gross the way you talk about her...
@@pl3459 Three things man, it’s a joke, and his sister said it, and if you are listening too Charlie, don’t be a snowflake.

Ah, I see you're not used to Andrew being wrong all the time. He gets halfway there but misses the point entirely.
@@DrivingGod21 Longtime subscriber, just pointing out it was incorrect.
@@steven95N I'm just joking about how Andrew always brings up facts that are almost correct. If I were to correct everything he got wrong that I knew, I would spend all episode correcting him in the comments 😂

The first Nobel Peace Prize went to the Swiss Jean Henri Dunant for his role in founding the International Red Cross Movement and initiating the Geneva Convention. The nobel prizes were indirectly founded by Alfred Nobel, Inventor of Dynamite. So no prize for dynamite itself.
Lmao. Jackson reads SCP articles? That Massachusetts one he mentions talks about how Massachusetts isn't real at all and everyone living in Boston is actually just in Buffalo New York and they're all confused
... I live there.... OH NO
@YeaMan shut up robot
I literally just came off an SCP video and that sounds fucking amazing
They guys are notorious for thinking SCP is horrible, I doubt they did the research

Walter Freeman, who popularized lobotomies in the US and also operated on Rosemary Kennedy, basically said lobotomies are effective because they turn the patients into emotionally stunted controllable robots, and he kept performing them even when psychopharmaka offered a much more effective solution to all the problems lobotomies were supposed to fix. So I don‘t think the good of the patient was ever the goal here.
I think this is the first time I’ve seen Kaya not move
I've been to psych wards and it wasn't by choice but it's not bad and sometimes even the food is kinda good. The part that sucked was when I was on suicide watch for 2 days and whenever I went to the washroom I had to leave the door open a bit while someone stands right outside the door and they would watch me sleep. Thank god it was only 2 days out of the 3 months I was there.
@@MamadNobari what
@@MamadNobari you have no idea. Trust me, I tried. It’s more difficult than you might think. Also it’s your kind of comments that lead mentally ill people to considering suicide. How about you stay out of shit you’ll never be able to understand and enjoy your life like the lucky bastard you are?
@@MamadNobari ofc you got a edgy skull as a profile pic
I stayed at a mental hospital years ago, and it was pretty traumatizing. Only one doctor there actually showed empathy for the patients, and the place was on extremely tight security 24/7, like a prison. Everything was highly structured, so if you missed something like lunchtime or shower time, you'd have to convince a nurse to let you do it late, then get told off for being noncompliant
I'm glad you had a better experience than I did, but just know that psych wards seem to be pretty hit-or-miss. And just for reference, it was in the US
@@MamadNobari Please don't be like this ._.
As a resident of Massachusetts I can confirm is a kieter class SCP, extremely unfortunate, very terrifying and every second I’m living in fear. And yes mass holes is a very commonly used thing we call ourselves.
So does that make us a scp
Sorry, I had to cut 14 people off and throw a beer at a grandma before I was able to read this comment. Very cool comment!
That's when you know someone didn't read it.
Entrapment, I believe, refers to a police officer making someone commit a crime they *wouldn't otherwise do*. The distinction is important. Otherwise, undercover operations would never work. Like, in cases of "Break into this house so I can arrest you, or I'll shoot you".
The audio quality for 2022 Q1 is astounding... damn.
When Andrew talks about being in Poland or Germany during WW2 and barley seeing any fighting that is true. My great grandmother grew up in Poland during WW2 and her town got bombed, they moved out and managed to never see combat near by again for the most part.
Im still waiting for Charlie to eat hot Peppers again for the new Sonic trailer
thing is with that the new trailer sorta cool so I feel like only one bite would be taken lol
I think it’s funny how they talked about the lobotomy two episodes ago but completely switched knowledge
I live in Kansas City MO and whenever I’ve been to concerts, I’ve heard that back stage they have Kansas City Missouri in huge letters because performers kept saying “how are you doing Kansas” and it tilts some people here I guess lmao
Charlies new setup needs the old rooms flair

Sometimes it's frustrating to listen to this podcast because they say the most incorrect things with so much confidence 😭 it's okay to just say you don't know
Who else feels nostalgic for Charlie's old room? The good old days....
Ah yes, I remember it like it was a couple weeks ago or something
Good old days? What it was just a week or two ago.
I remember the elden days when he was just a faceless voice
How are you nostalgic? It's only been a couple weeks 💀

To answer the question around 35:00 mark. Yes, most wars are “boring”. Ask anybody in service today the common saying is “hurry up and wait”.
WW2 for Americans for an example averaged only 40 days of combat a year for your regular soldier. This 40 days would also be drastically spread out for most soldiers. Which that 40 days was more then most conflicts before it purely on the fact it was faster to even get to where the fighting was at because of trucks and planes. The least “boring” war in history is Vietnam and to compare to early statistic average days fighting was 240 days out of the year for your typical American soldier. Hence why the increase in PTSD, war crimes, degrading of military regulation, etc. Now every military knows that tempo is doable through technology but not feasible for success because of the troops.
Now In reference to Ukraine it most likely is “boring” for the vast majority of both sides. Their really is only a few hotspots in the whole conflict but troops are spread throughout the lines on the map of contention. Examples being Kiev and Odessa being extremely hot and day in and out fighting. Now the Russians if they were fighting by the book would he rotating troops frequently since Ukraine can’t really do that. Thing is they aren’t really doing that and can’t really because of logistics, hence the super slow progress of a “superpower” versus a vastly smaller nation. Just my take on the whole thing as a non-expert but someone who has been reading a lot about military history for years. I went engineer because pays more in university lol.
"Very clearly trying to arrest people"
So clear, you'd think they wouldn't commit a crime in that situation
My favorite solution to the trolley problem is to drift the trolley on both tracks to kill everyone.

I'm from Massassachuttes and the masshole thing is usually referring to bad drivers
Bait cars definitely aren't entrapment. Jackson is right. Whether they are ethical is another story, but they aren't entrapment.
I watched Kaya the entire podcast and I didn’t see him blink once.
Jackson is struggling to run Elden RIng on a 2080 and I'm running it fairly well on my 970 lmao
The milgram experiment also had it that eventually the actor would plead for help and cry for them to stop. Eventually stop responding to see if people would still do it even with them begging or them potentially being knocked out or already dead.
I love the podcast they give me something to listen to while doing something
Wow same here I thought I was the only one :) !
My poor lad Jackson lmao. Sanitoriums (or sanitariums, more commonly) were what mental asylums were often referred to in the 20th centuries. They were originally hospitals for people with chronic terminal illnesses, such as tuberculosis, but when that fell off, they were repurposed to house mental patients. Mental health institutions have always been absolutely horrific in America, some even used illegally as brothels, wherein the patients would be prostituted against their will. The quality of psychiatric wards has risen steeply since those times, but it's still at a terrible place in the US. Most psychiatric patients end up in jails rather than psych wards due to mass overpopulation and underfunding by state governments. Not a tenth as bad as conditions were 80 years ago, but America is a bad place for the mentally ill.
I just recently got into this podcast and I've been randomly listening thru older episodes. This is at least the 5th episode I've seen in which they've discussed the cash prize for Nobel Prize winners lmao

Nellie Bly actually faked being crazy to get in, but as soon as the doctor "confirmed" she was crazy she acted normal again, which makes this whole situation even more absurd

I was born in Boston MA, can confirm they are massholes. I approve of this podcast.
How does Kayas mic still sound better than Charlies?
Charlie is looking rather Jared Leto Morbius this episode
Y’all should have had Rex Gunderson as the guest this episode, I feel like he would have provided really great insight on a lot of the conflict conversation.
U understand the dudes gotta protect his identity right? Or did u think he was larping in cosplay?
Obviously he does, hasn’t stopped him from being in plenty of Charlie’s vids before. Not saying he’s supposed to get on screen and give out a bunch of sensitive or personal information..

Electro shock therapy and a rightful dark history to it, but now is done in a very controlled environment nowadays. The patient is put under by an anesthesiologist and is monitored by him and the psychiatrist. The only way you know that the patient is being shocked is a slight tingle from the patients feet.

Holy shit I think ive seen 2 of those truck sting operations before. Once was during christmas time and it was an amazon van that was filled with boxes and the back open and no driver in sight in a sort if run down neighbor hood. But the location it was in would had to have had a lot of cameras everywhere. The second was a company truck for a brand of liqour that had the back open too! It was behind the buissness but there were like cameras everywhere on that street and passing cars would be able to see the open truck. Plus Theres a police station just down the road from there. Both times I was kinda tempted to take stuff but I was like "yea... Not worth getting caught..."

Random but the proper terminology for an “insane asylum” would be a “psychiatric hospital “ or for the large asylums of the 1900s you could call them “state hospitals” as many of them were state run
sanatorium is a term used to refer to Tuberculosis isolation hospitals wich were common before the advent of modern treatments for TB, Sanatoriums often resemble psychiatric hospitals of the time and they often were converted into psychiatric hospitals when their usefulness as TB hospitals wore out however they are technically two different locations

Nh here. We also call them Massholes. They're probably one of the biggest causes of near-miss accidents here next to people who think they can go 120 and not wreck
i know this comment is 2 years too late but none of those examples are entrapment. entrapment is when police get someone to commit a crime they wouldnt have done otherwise. people buying coke in a club or stealing a truck were not convinced by the cop, they were committing those crimes regardless of police involvement

I happen to know a bit about lobotomies, bc of my interest in psychology. They were not based in religion but were a highly popularized medical practice for just about anything they considered a mental illness at the time. Also patient rights weren't really a thing back then so someone else could consent for you if you were 'mentally ill'. It was short lived bc it wasn't really a proven treatment for anything and it is obviously cruel and inhumane.
Can you please read my comment? I thought my dad got one of these, but maybe it was something different? He got a piece of his temporal lobe removed.
@@Yuki-di2rb ok so after looking into it, it seems that the type of surgery you are reffering to is similar in nature, it is not exactly the same type of surgery that you would call a lobotomy. A lobotomy in this context would refer to a type of surgery done on psychiatric patients especially during the 1940s-60s that essentially would sever a person's personality and ability to feel emotions, and could also render a person completely catatonic and no longer able to care for themselves. A lobectomy from what I understand (I could be wrong) is a more modern adaptation of that with arguably less severe affects on the person that could unfortunately include personality changes. It is an uncommon procedure and is generally used to treat severe and treatment resistant seizure disorders as well as some other things.
