Thank god this guy wasn’t around for crit me 😂 he seems quite interesting, gonna be quite tanky as a defender (triggering unstoppable during specials is gonna be the bane of me)
As always, thanks for this! Wasn't too keen on him after watching the deep dive but you've really sold me on him. Loved reinforce on Northstar, so it's nice to see it pop up again
I like this kit a lot, and how his sig ability synergizes with his damage. Doesn't directly increase it but gives you a lot more leeway to get the max muscle mass damage whenever you want
The specific counter we have been looking for is against Bullseye on stunning reflection. Given Gentle doesn't have incinerate or poison, and most of his damage seems to come from special 2s, is he going to be another Bullseye counter that doesn't really work on this node? Or is his basic attack damage and unstoppable/invincible passive kit enough to safely fight Bullseye and not die to degen and blocked hits?
I don't think you're seeing the kit in its totality yet. 1) Gentle has a rupture debuff to gain power. 2) Gentle goes stun immune on WTB (stun cannot be reflected) 3) Gentle goes unstoppable and unblockable when the opp is immune to a stun, which combos with (2) to allow you to parry against Bullseye on stunning reflection and start your combo normally 4) gentle can block a single hit without a WTB to get both pursuit and reinforce up, turning off most of Bullseye's threats. I won't pretend it's completely impossible for him to die - life finds a way lol - but sincere question, what exactly are you worried about not having to an answer to given all that?
@@Daddylonglegs93 Thanks for the clarification, I guess I wasn't considering the rupture debuff as a way to gain power on that node and was too focused on poison/incinerate. Not a perfect counter for the node since no incinerate or poison, but at least he can gain power and ignore evade. Maybe it even helps him on that node that Bullseye will always be stun immune, so every parry will activate the unstoppable/invulnerable combo, so more damage dealing and less damage taking? Is the damage reduction against Bullseye significant enough that you won't die to block damage?
Thanks for the video. DLL, can I ask you (if you have any information) about the 3 buffs (Arcade, Nothstar and Silver Sable) will they all be updated in the January update or not? There is only updated information on the site by Silver Sable, and what about the rest?
Kingpin and DD Hells Kitchen are crying😂. So Gentle would be a complete wrecking ball as a Horseman?.... I swear to all that is good in the world that his first Synergy could be with Jean Grey😮
The horseman prefight adds as much ability accuracy as his own synergy, so to really go nuts you'd need both, meaning minimum three spots on your team for it. Seems fine to me, but yeah it would be fun.
Hey DLL question about the champion attributes. Are they decided before you guys design the champions? Or after the champion is designed? And are all champs created equally (with the exception of special champs like the deathless) or are some meant to be stronger before you guys even start the design process. I know some champions are meant to be strong in certain aspects like serpent who’s a great defender but he’s also a beast on attack and his attributes add up to 18/25. On the oppose side, Silver sable (prebuff) is a less powerful champ and her attributes only add up to 14.5/25. Noticed Gentle looks very strong and his attributes are stacked at 19/25. Just curious if these champion attributes have anything to do with the champs strength or is just a guideline to the players.
This is a really complicated question I don't really want to get into in UA-cam comments, but the short version is that your last sentence is the most important. They are more of a guideline. They are not meant to be a rating of strength or quality out of 25, and you shouldn't spend much time on that.
Basically his own version of the recoil mastery but it’s in his base kit. But You can control whether or not you want to sacrifice the hp for extra damage.
I was thinking about that indestructible synergy with path 7. it would get around damage back but do you think it would be too unreliable to run there?
He doesn't have indestructible in a synergy so I'm just going to assume you mean the trigger in his kit. I wouldn't really want to play a whole fight 2s one, 5s off, but it sounds possible
That recoil thing is veryyy unnecessary...one of the few reasons I don't run suicides is if i mess up.. it'll be very punishing..and this guy is just bringing the danger home on a silver platter...hard pass 😮💨
it's literally better than recoil and is completely avoidable by just ending your combo in a light attack before you throw a special. If that's too much to ask, then this wasn't for you
@Daddylonglegs93 dude comeon... without that recoil thingy it's literally half the damage ..which would mean more than double the time to finish off a fight...which is very significant in bgs 😅... atleast they should've given him some strong regen in base kit to make up for that damage just for bgs sake..like with shathra or serpent
It's not actually half. It's around 3/4. You're subtracting out the base damage in comparing just the two bonuses against each other. And all that extra damage means in BGs you don't have to take the damage because the fight is over. That's the whole point. I covered this in the video. If you're not in BGs, speed doesn't matter. If you are in BGs facing someone you can't KO with a properly setup Sp2, then that's not a target for Gentle, and we're discussing the natural limits every champion should have. What you're complaining about is there being a choice in the kit. That's not unnecessary. That's a fundamental component of good design. Please either try out the character or wait for footage before leaping to a conclusion about a design choice.
Surely you can see the difference between someone with unavoidable health loss on multiple different triggers and someone with avoidable health loss on one.
The concept of the Opponent becoming more Daunted the more Muscle Mass Gentle has is both Genius and hilarious
Thank god this guy wasn’t around for crit me 😂 he seems quite interesting, gonna be quite tanky as a defender (triggering unstoppable during specials is gonna be the bane of me)
Looks like he will pair nicely with sinister relic. The bleed should trigger his pursuit passive in matches you otherwise could trigger it.

I like how his abilities reflect his comic powers in many ways including the recoil. Seems really cool!

He's bleed immune and turns off crits - that's the two ways Bullseye deals damage through block
The psychotherapy synergy is probably Jean Grey

I do not have any information and if I did I wouldn't be able to share it.
@Daddylonglegs93 Oh, well then we'll wait.

And I get the joke, but you do see the difference between this kit and KP/DDHK debuffing themselves right?

Fair enough, thanks for the answer. I just saw his crazy attributes and he seems very strong so it got me wondering.
Why he take damage while playing him? Idk much just saw someone comment about it on the deep dive
For balance
Basically his own version of the recoil mastery but it’s in his base kit. But You can control whether or not you want to sacrifice the hp for extra damage.
Luckily for you, you're commenting on a video that explains all that 🙂
is there a reason he has a 31.8% chance to gain a muscle mass?
So you don’t accidentally push to max when you’re not equipped to do it
@@jimjohnson7432 Thanks. I was wondering if it was an easter egg cause the number felt too specific
It probably is an Easter egg but I don't know this one myself.

You're asking for more power on indestructible and unstoppable? That's gonna be a tough sell, friend

@Daddylonglegs93 sure..but he does look a bit like ihulk tbh..he didn't fly either 🥲

Gentle is not so gentle
