I'm guessing that the mood light's will be pointed upwards to create a more diluted criss cross effect on the barrel cladding when they add the finishing touches... As opposed to the blue blobs we see currently... 🤔 Great coverage of the build, thanks for all of your effort 👍
Definitely won't be staying the way it is, too harsh, they're just testing everything before they finish the build... British gas and solar panels would be an odd mix 🙈😂👍 @@stephenlinden-wyatt-ys8vy
If they were doing that then I'm surprised they didn't angle them that way to start with. Makes no sense having to send people back up again to move every light if that indeed is the plan. I personally think this is the way they've planned it and they have no plans to change.
@@JayEFC1969 if you look closely they are not uniform as they are, the light fittings are fully adjustable so won't be an issue... They are saving all the finishing touches for completion...
Wonder if they will (in addition to the external barrel roof lighting) have some blue lighting on the inside of the barrel? The barrel roofing has many holes in it for light to shine through. I think that would look incredible. Also....I wonder if the lighting colours are changeable (so you could customise the lighting for different events, Rugby, boxing, music, UEFA finals)? So say they held a EUROPA Cup Final there and you had say Dortmund and Valencia playing the west of the barrel cladding could be lit up yellow, and the east orange.
Dave: we have seen that they can produce white and that means they can produce any colour. I suspect that they are not fully powered up and it's possible that there is lighting hidden inside the barrel-cladding (biut don't quote me on that), not just on the floor of the North and South Stands.
Yes, James. It wil be painted in a dark-grey paint/screed, only when all work above them has been finsihed. There's still a lot of repainitng of the steels going on. There are two areas where you can see teh fllor has been painted, a long time ago: 1) Under the platforms housing the Plant at the NW corner, and 2) Under the Barrel-Cladding on the West Stand (see at 7:02 and 7:23 mins here).
No, Paul it isn't true, but then again, it depends what you mean by "Major Signage". There are large areas of the external faces of the stadium that have potential use approved in the Plans of Sept 2020, which include the Brick Facades at the South and North ends of the West and East Stands, the north and south ends of the Brick Terracing Walls on the West Plaza, the north and south windows and the southern end of the East and West Stand Barrel-cladding. There are also spaces allocated on the sides of the East and West Stands Main Portals as well as on the roof of the main portals. They are all mentioned as being Illuminated Signage, so we will have to wait and see what EFC have decided on the final appearnace in the customisation, which will be affected by any Naming Rights Sponsorship, of course. Some of the Illuminated Signage could be in the form of projection, like a lumiere show. The approach will be more "subtle" than "in your face".

A good question, Paul. Originally it was for "Accessibility", as can be seen elsewhere but a few of these wide platforms have been changed in terms of the seating layout. No clues why or how they will be used.
