If you're a new player (like me) I suggest you don't directly convert OP into Orundum, every 5 levels you can get a free enhancement pack and another one that costs OP from the store. If you hold out for a while and buy the OP enhancement packs as they come, you get the same amount of OP as of you directly converted it, but you also get a ton of good resources like LMD, Exp, Skill Upgrade Materials, etc. I'm super glad I waited, it definitely Jumpstarted my progression. Also there's no reason to refresh sanity, you get sanity packs left and right in the beginning anyway 💪🏾
yeah as a f2p player ive been only using OP for buying skins and the first few enhancement packs but at some point even the enhancement packs arent worth it

It's good if you want a ton of progression fast, but I've been getting by pretty well with e2'ing one awesome operator at a time. 2-3 pulls and a bunch of sanity (via the mats) isn't worth 2 skins, for example
Remember Doktah~ Materials are finite and will be used up one way or another however, skins on the other hand are ETERNAL. Joking aside not really that bad to buy skins from time to time specially if the skin is for your waifu/husbando or favourite operator.
As a f2p I only used op for summons by buying some of the first packages you could buy with It, but quickly after that I realized it it's better to just use it for skins
As an also new player, dude just save the most pulls you can for who you want, including OPs, 300 pulls as pity for limited units is just too much to risk it man...

i assume people that want to pull a lot would be interested in this: REPEATABLE Ways to farm Oromdum/pulls 1) Annihilation Orondum weekly limit starts at 1200 and can be permanently increased to 1700 (complete Outskirts and Downtown) and to 1800 with the rotating one. (recommended: complete any Annihilation (easiest Anni 1,Chernobog but takes a bit more stamina) and farm that one daily with the the total proxy 2) Daily missions grant 100 each day, and weekly 500 each week for a total of 1200 each week 3) Monthly you can use Commendations to buy 600 orondum for a total of 240 commendations and in the second tier (requires buying out the whole first tier shop with 1490 commendations) you can buy 2x draws for 450 commendations each (recommended to do each month. but only if you are certain you can reach the second tier and buy them) 4) Monthly login grants 1 free pull at day 17 so in total thats 3.000 each week or 12.600 each month+3 pulls thats 24 pulls . (More then half of that is just from weekly Annihilations) some non repeatable but significant ways on top of that there are new events (top priority, can give INSANE amounts of pulls), OP from event stages, Op from story stages, first time clear of old Annihilations stages (1500 Ornondum each) and a tiny amount from base(general not recommended) it takes on average (50% chance) 35 pulls on a banner to get a 6 star and is almost guaranteed after 70 pulls. 70 pulls = 42.000 orondum so every 4 months ish 210 pulls= 126.000 Orondum, so just with the repeatable ways thats 10 months. Very important: Always remember that Arknights is just a video game with virtual rewards. Try to only spend money as one's income and reserves allow, and if it is truly worth it. One should take caution that gacha mechanics are generally seen as predatory and may develop gambling addiction. If the latter is the case, please seek mental and/or spiritual counsel immediately as it can (and will) be detrimental to one's life!
I gotta say that this is a very solid new player video on how to use your OP wisely. Back when I was a new player I sure wasnt wise and there werent that many tips shown on how to save it or if its worth using. I am sure a video like this would be helpful to many people, and again another banger of a video my dude heheheh. Keep up the good content King!

Op is something that doesn’t regenerate and you would need to see a lot more value in it rather than pulling or using to restore sanity.

This is well paced, like any newcomers would be glad to watch this and make their own decision on how to spend their. Kinda sad you didn't touch abput the lvl packs as those are genuinely one of the best ways to spend OP for equivalent orundum and extra materials.
as a f2p I have about 400OP I only used them for skin and occasionally use them for sanity to farm and clear event shops. For skins I'm very selective only get the ones I like and only for the operators that I use. And I have about 150000 Orundum, from just saving. I don't pull on all the banners, if it's a limited banner I'll do 10 or 20 pulls. So far I was only willing to break my savings for Ling and Eben which took 80 and 20 pulls.
Give urself a treat and pull Mylnar now. I spend 60 pulls on his banner. Got 1 pot Mylnar, 5 pot Proviso and another two 5 star operator. Also, playing with liberator guard operator is kinda fun. You can play around with the timing of his skill.

something I feel should be mentioned is the Premium Level packs as they give the the same amount of Orundum as a direct conversion plus extra resources such as grindstones,xp,currency, etc...

Seems like eveyone forgot about level pack that pack is limited. It will stop appearing in the shop at a certain lv 70. So better buy ALL the lvl pack instead of using the OP for gacha roll Level pack = Orundum + growth materials For example if you buy the lvl pack & it costs 3 OP, you will get 540 orundums plus some extra growth materials its a 1:1 ratio in terms of orundums conversion
Strong agree with Vifer's advice. I've been playing Arknights as f2p for about 2 and a half years and this advice is how I spend my OP. As another reason why you shouldn't spend OP on pulls: You can eventually get whatever character you want by either getting an off banner, recuitment (for older characters), or the yellow certificate shop, and you can always try out characters you don't have by borrowing them from friends. The only exception is limited characters which is why I save my pulls for those banners. The Chinese server being 6 months ahead makes it easy to plan and save according you your own priorities as well. Then of course this should probably be the number 1 reason, no character is irreplicable. While some make life easy for sure, you can beat the game without them. If you're f2p you'll probably also get to a point in the game where you won't have the resources to build a a bunch of new characters up to the level where they'll be useful for your account. So if you spend OP for pulls and get a bunch of new characters it will probably take you a long time to build all of them and you'll have to focus on the ones you really like anyway. This got rambly but anyway Arknights is generous just play the events, I'm only missing 19 characters out of the 256 out on global rn.

@@wolfVFV I don't pull the 5 star guarantee and I wouldn't recommend it unless all the 5 stars are good, and you don't have them. For example, if the 3 5 stars were Mulberry, Lapland, Elysium then as long as you get an on banner 5 star you'll get an operator that will help your account. But that's the thing you aren't guaranteed an on banner 5 star, and a lot of the 5 stars aren't super important. You'll also get welfare operators frequently from events. I don't think anyone needs to be a meta slave and only use 6 stars, or torture themselves by never pulling and grow to hate the game. However, using a website like the Arknights gamepress one, or Kukkikaze has some good youtube vidoes for beginners explaining things; and get an understanding of which characters are strong and when/why so that you can prioritize what matters to you personally. Not being able to beat content can be demoralizing but that answer isn't ways "you need this character" or "you need more 5 stars". It's usually "you need a way to deal with X situation" but there are multiple ways to do that. And lastly 5 stars are honestly so expensive to build compared to the value they bring in a lot of cases. 4 starts are often better because they cost so many less resources.
This is the first time I'm saving up OP to roll because of Texas alter and monhun collab banners being close with each other. I usually have zero OP because I love arknights skins so much. It's really hard to avoid looking at the skins now since I get easily enticed by them lol.
@@ketsura3618 I've just now search info about monhun banner and it's the first time I read the info about collab banner only needing 120 pulls for the guaranteed. I thought it also needed 300 pulls. I guess I can have a lot of leeway to buy skins if I get an early Texas alter.
I mainly used OP for skins but except Dossoless Holiday Event, I remember how I calculated so hard and spent 100 op to refill my sanity to farm for E2 my operators, I managed to E2 20 of them (E2 Lv.20~40) in single event and I’m not regretted at all

I'm a f2p who has been playing since day 1 and what I've been doing and I recommmend is to only spending OP on skins, since pulls cost a lot of OP and using it for stamina a lot of times is not worth it. My recommendation for summoning is to only summon for characters that you really like or for OP/strong characters, a few examples of new OP/strong characters to come on NA are Mlynar and Texas Alter. Some people will say to always go for waifu/husbando instead of meta and I agree, but sometimes going for a few OP/strong characters will make your life easier in the long run (especially if you're small brain like me :,C). I think if you want to play Arknights (or any gacha game for that matter) as a f2p the best advice I can give is to have patience. Save your Orundum and don't pull on all banners, save OP for skins that you really like and spend your daily stamina. Obviously do all your daily-weekly missions since all of these resources are important and they are your primary source for Orundum
How Im suppose to clear more stages to get more OPs if I keep buying skins tho? Half of the event stages and also later chapters are hard and not everybody is a low star gamer.
@jonne vitu as a f2p who had a very rough start (my first 6* was shining) nah, don't base your capabilities by how many 6* you have, a lot of the 4* are really great and there are also good 5* characters, so unless you are doing really hard challenges you will be fine, just make sure to watch guides or training plans so you get a bigger brain You can use it for sanity but... it's not that good of an idea as a f2p , just use your natural regen sanity
Great video. I think you should make a video about "what contents should a new player focus on", now there are a lot of gamemodes in Arknights and not all of them is for newplayer so it can be confusing. Giving them guides and directions is worth for another video
For me, use for whatever you want. You main source of gacha pulls are orundum for f2p player anyway. For me, saved at least 30-40 worth of OP for emergency pulls (In case your luck is abysmal on a banner), the rest you can spend it for skins.
I think 1 which Vifer forget: Another easy way to get orundum is by using trade center in the base. This is the MOST EXPENSIVE way as it takes a lot of sanity to convert to orundum which mean less resource to grow your operator. But as F2P which do really strict selective pull, you will not have a lot of operator to grow anyway (and will have a lot of spare sanity). Thus if you are that kind F2P, just do this. Building operator: for F2P, it is best to build low rarity operator 4 star with occasionally build 6 or 5 star. Some 4 star with max level, mastery, and module lvl 1 or 3 is not a joke. (Dr. Silvergun basically show you this).
As a year-old f2p player, i've been VERY lucky with my pulls and basically have every operator I need to play the game very comfortably to the point I either just need to borrow 1 character (it's either Saileach/Bagpipe/Ash) or I can borrow + replace missing with a bit of worse perfomance. Now I just save for limited or interesting banners and spend OPs on 18-21 skins that change a character greatly, like Mudrock's skin and others.
So far i have bought the level packs (around level 50+ now) and one skin for tsukinogi. Also spent all my pulls trying to get tsukinogi from her banner and failed but atleast i can get a few outfits for when i eventually pull said operators. I was doing the 10 pulls for each banner since i feel like my crew is limited but now im just going to save up as much as i can for when limiteds drop.
3 year account here, strongly agree with this video, the problem is, even though I also do a decent amount of saving, I'm literally always low on OP due to the fact that every single 6* I own at the moment must be L.90 + a Skin or two. I buy a lot of skins for characters that I use from time-to-time as well so you can guess how many OPs I lose each time there's a new skin line/outfit rerun. For context on the 6-rarity thingy. I'm only missing 11 of them on Global. One of them is Carnelian and I have both of her skins. I'm not even worried about any upcoming skins since they come with an event and events literally give you enough to buy at least one of them. Arknights is way too comfortable compared to other gacha games out there that it is borderline scary.

There is another place to spend OPs if you dont really care about outfits , the lvl Enhancment pack in Shop , buy those will give you the same amount of Orundum ypu wouldve get converting OPs while giving extra rewards

Actually I think its right choice to spend op when you just started the game because new player wont be able to even complete all of the event stages, build base and receive free mats from is2 and so on... There no point to spend op on sanity only if you already build some great operators and can complete most of the content by urself. But I agree about spending on pulls tho I rather buy almost 2 skins for my operators than spend it on 10 pulls and get a blue bag lol
This is an amazing guide,amazing job! But in my point of view i also recommend also using the OP at the "Pack" where u use your OP it gives you the same amount of orondum + good resources, its the pack that you get every....5 lvs? i dont remember :D
The only time I would recommend using OP to refresh sanity is if an event is just about to end but don't have enough sanity to clear all stages. The OP you used would be regained from those extra first clear rewards. Otherwise you'd have to wait a full year to replay those missed stages.
As a monthly card only player since december 2021 i've got quite a lot E2's, masteries and LVL3 Modules without refreshing sanity even once. And it could be even more if i didn't try to farm orundum just to see how it works for a month (not worth it at all, you trade all your monthly sanity for an extra tenroll lmao). My advice is to use OP to buy enhancement packs from shop (117 OP in total which gives you 21K orundum and free materials, which is just better than using OP for pulls and refreshes), and once you got them just save all op for skins.
You forgot to metion that there are Lvl. Up packs you can buy with OP converting OP to orundom and materials. Like that is one of the most important thing to remind newer players
Great video and very informative! But i think i disagree, im mostly F2P, occasionally buying the monthly pass because it has insane value. IMO, having all the operators is a much wiser investment of OP, skins are cool but they are cosmetic only, the real game changers are the operators you ganha for...
I'm new, I think I used OP to pull twice, 1 10 pull in the current banner (the musician guy) and 1 10 pull in Executor Alter, BUT, it was a total of 15 OP spent (If I'm not mistaken, I made sure that I had enough Orundum to only need a couple of OP to top off the 6k), and truly, not worth it, but arknights is smart, they put cool looking banner in, I am immediately drawn out to the "10 pull" button, I will try to control myself for the future tho.
Heres to save time: Best way to use OP as a f2p player is to use it for sanity restore to farm your operators faster also but the level packs if you are below level 70! 2nd best option is to use it for Gacha currency 3rd option is to buy skins and this can be your priority or not depending on your taste and howmuch you are willing to buy them Why do some arknights videos just painfully prolong a topic sometimes?
This guide is good. I have seen so many people given bad advice to people such as converting all originium to orundum through enhancement pack just to get leveling up materials only to regret later when a skin that they want comes up and they couldn't afford it. Please do not spend on enhancement pack using your originium unless you don't want skin at all!
W skin is now 24... The skin has new dialogue, L2D, and skin effects. I've been playing for about 3 years and for my 1st year... I spent a lot of OP and regretted everything. Now I only use orundums to pull and only pull on a banner that I really wanted
I know how to spend mine, on outfits for waifu's, unfortunately there hasn't been a single decent skin for any of my favs, so it's just setting there tempting me when I get low on orundum.
My plan is to buy 7 skins for each day of the week for characters that I have as well as welfare ops and keep changing the different characters on different days
I'll going to considering it from now.. sigh.. I'll stop rolling on the standard banner from now on.. but i don't know if i can do it though. pepeSadge
I've only ever bought one skin since it doesn't provide any actual advantage- also most of them don't interest me (most of the ones that do interest me are within the "Bloodline of Combat" brand, which also holds the one one skin that I did buy). I mainly use them on sanity to help grind resources, currency, and trust, though I did recently spend 300 on getting Jessica (it took 139 pulls to obtain, and I got bamboozled by Ho'olheyak and Fartooth)
Semi F2P (only monthly pass), no skins (only the free ones but i wanted Ash skin (ಥ﹏ಥ)), playing the daily missions, annihilation and with head in the pulls: around 180k orundum and 1010 OP.

Been playing since Year One of AK, and yeah I mainly spend on skins nowadays, unless I badly want to e2 a certain unit. Rarely do I spend OP on banner pulls, unless I really wanted the 6-star there
Spending on skins is absolute bullshit. As a F2P player, once you've cleared all side quests and main story stages, your only OP income is from events and rewards, in other words not that much. Limited characters make it hard to roll or even save up because if you wanna have all limited characters (most of them are really strong) then you will need to save up every last drop of OP and potentially even spend if your luck is not great. If you're like me and you've missed out on old limited characters, you will need at least 300 pulls on a limited banner to afford an old limited character from the store. Aside from not being able to collect that much OP to afford 300 pulls in between limited banners, you are also skipping all reruns and new non-limited characters in between. In my personal experience, I cleared half of the main story stages (6-12) both modes, did all events in a 3 month period and did around 4-5 side stories between Mu/Ho'ol banner to Ejya alter's banner. I was able to gather 250 pulls from all of those things and still had to pay the extra 50 pulls to reach 300 and get an old limited character. I skipped multiple non-limited high priority banners too. I've now reached the end game and all I can do is farm OP from events. I will be nowhere close to getting an old limited on the next limited banner and I am still missing loads of non-limited characters that I really want. And with Arknight's horrible 2-3 operators per banner gacha system, you can lose an infinite amount of 50/50s and not get the character you want even if you have hundreds of pulls. So the truth is, you can't really keep up with the game unless you pay. And if you buy a skin, you are probably gonna have to skip a couple of banners to recover.
AK is very generous in many things. You get LMD passively, you get EXP cards passively, events tend to contain many many valuable things, rates are pretty good (the only rates that I know of that beat AK's 2% is AL's 5% for SR, relative equivalent to 6* in AK), you can save up enough to buy 6*s without pulling if you really wanted to, whenever we get mail we always get good stuff, among others. Life's pretty chill.

Don’t know how many have said this but I really appreciate these types of videos with vifer. When he puts away the funny haha streamer man persona and is just sitting there talking to us as himself and doing his best to help the community.
i assume people that want to pull a lot would be interested in this:
REPEATABLE Ways to farm Oromdum/pulls
1) Annihilation Orondum weekly limit starts at 1200 and can be permanently increased to 1700 (complete Outskirts and Downtown) and to 1800 with the rotating one.
(recommended: complete any Annihilation (easiest Anni 1,Chernobog but takes a bit more stamina) and farm that one daily with the the total proxy
2) Daily missions grant 100 each day, and weekly 500 each week for a total of 1200 each week
3) Monthly you can use Commendations to buy 600 orondum for a total of 240 commendations and in the second tier (requires buying out the whole first tier shop with 1490 commendations) you can buy 2x draws for 450 commendations each (recommended to do each month. but only if you are certain you can reach the second tier and buy them)
4) Monthly login grants 1 free pull at day 17
so in total thats 3.000 each week or 12.600 each month+3 pulls thats 24 pulls . (More then half of that is just from weekly Annihilations)
some non repeatable but significant ways
on top of that there are new events (top priority, can give INSANE amounts of pulls), OP from event stages, Op from story stages, first time clear of old Annihilations stages (1500 Ornondum each) and a tiny amount from base(general not recommended)
it takes on average (50% chance) 35 pulls on a banner to get a 6 star and is almost guaranteed after 70 pulls.
70 pulls = 42.000 orondum so every 4 months ish
210 pulls= 126.000 Orondum, so just with the repeatable ways thats 10 months.

Always remember that Arknights is just a video game with virtual rewards. Try to only spend money as one's income and reserves allow, and if it is truly worth it. I gotta say that this is a very solid new player video on how to use your OP wisely. Back when I was a new player I sure wasnt wise and there werent that many tips shown on how to save it or if its worth using. Op is something that doesn’t regenerate and you would need to see a lot more value in it rather than pulling or using to restore sanity.

Using OP to pull is a BORDERLINE inefficient option compared to litterally speeding up your account progress by 5 weeks
Im not saying that you should immediately turn all OP to sanity or never pull with using them
I am saying that using them to restore sanity is a much more preferable option and being mindfull with your orandum helps reducing the amount of OPs you would use on pulling
Saving for a single big event (like limiteds) with orandums and immediately using OP to E2 and mastery all the new characters you got is a mathematically best efficient way of doing account progress
Saving 3 months for a limited event is enough to give 150-170 pulls while saving 6 months is enough for 300+
With these much pulls on a limited event you get around 3 6 stars with 150 pulls and 6-7 6 stars + 1 spark operator + countless 5 stars with 300 pulls wich is the most optimal way of pulling in the game afterwich you can use OP to immediately level up all of these new operators to e2 m3 status wich equals to 2/3 e2 m3s per month and i am not even counting the amount of golden certificates and free shop operators wich can be 6 stars themselves on this as well

This is well paced, like any newcomers would be glad to watch this and make their own decision on how to spend their. Kinda sad you didn't touch abput the lvl packs as those are genuinely one of the best ways to spend OP for equivalent orundum and extra materials.
as a f2p I have about 400OP I only used them for skin and occasionally use them for sanity to farm and clear event shops. For skins I'm very selective only get the ones I like and only for the operators that I use. And I have about 150000 Orundum, from just saving. I don't pull on all the banners, if it's a limited banner I'll do 10 or 20 pulls. So far I was only willing to break my savings for Ling and Eben which took 80 and 20 pulls.

Give urself a treat and pull Mylnar now. I spend 60 pulls on his banner. Got 1 pot Mylnar, 5 pot Proviso and another two 5 star operator.
Also, playing with liberator guard operator is kinda fun. You can play around with the timing of his skill.

something I feel should be mentioned is the Premium Level packs as they give the the same amount of Orundum as a direct conversion plus extra resources such as grindstones,xp,currency, etc...

that pack is limited. It will stop appearing in the shop at a certain lv 70. So better buy ALL the lvl pack instead of using the OP for gacha roll
Level pack = Orundum + growth materials
For example if you buy the lvl pack & it costs 3 OP, you will get 540 orundums plus some extra growth materials
its a 1:1 ratio in terms of orundums conversion
Strong agree with Vifer's advice. I've been playing Arknights as f2p for about 2 and a half years and this advice is how I spend my OP. As another reason why you shouldn't spend OP on pulls: You can eventually get whatever character you want by either getting an off banner, recuitment (for older characters), or the yellow certificate shop, and you can always try out characters you don't have by borrowing them from friends. The only exception is limited characters which is why I save my pulls for those banners. The Chinese server being 6 months ahead makes it easy to plan and save according you your own priorities as well. Then of course this should probably be the number 1 reason, no character is irreplicable. While some make life easy for sure, you can beat the game without them. If you're f2p you'll probably also get to a point in the game where you won't have the resources to build a a bunch of new characters up to the level where they'll be useful for your account. So if you spend OP for pulls and get a bunch of new characters it will probably take you a long time to build all of them and you'll have to focus on the ones you really like anyway. This got rambly but anyway Arknights is generous just play the events, I'm only missing 19 characters out of the 256 out on global rn.

@@wolfVFV I don't pull the 5 star guarantee and I wouldn't recommend it unless all the 5 stars are good, and you don't have them. For example, if the 3 5 stars were Mulberry, Lapland, Elysium then as long as you get an on banner 5 star you'll get an operator that will help your account. But that's the thing you aren't guaranteed an on banner 5 star, and a lot of the 5 stars aren't super important. You'll also get welfare operators frequently from events.
I don't think anyone needs to be a meta slave and only use 6 stars, or torture themselves by never pulling and grow to hate the game. However, using a website like the Arknights gamepress one, or Kukkikaze has some good youtube vidoes for beginners explaining things; and get an understanding of which characters are strong and when/why so that you can prioritize what matters to you personally. Not being able to beat content can be demoralizing but that answer isn't ways "you need this character" or "you need more 5 stars". It's usually "you need a way to deal with X situation" but there are multiple ways to do that.
And lastly 5 stars are honestly so expensive to build compared to the value they bring in a lot of cases. 4 starts are often better because they cost so many less resources.

This is the first time I'm saving up OP to roll because of Texas alter and monhun collab banners being close with each other. I usually have zero OP because I love arknights skins so much. It's really hard to avoid looking at the skins now since I get easily enticed by them lol.

I mainly used OP for skins but except Dossoless Holiday Event, I remember how I calculated so hard and spent 100 op to refill my sanity to farm for E2 my operators, I managed to E2 20 of them (E2 Lv.20~40) in single event and I’m not regretted at all

Fun fact: In order to reach that much Orundum Stack that Vifer has in this video, you have to play this game since DAY ONE, grinding only Daily-Weekly mission + Annihilation for THREE STRAIGHT YEARS, *WITHOUT PULLING WHATSOEVER* (and that's not even counting the monthly Cert shop Orundum, Paradox Simulation, Annihilation Map first clears, Maintenance Rewards, and Orundum converted from free OP)

I'm a f2p who has been playing since day 1 and what I've been doing and I recommmend is to only spending OP on skins, since pulls cost a lot of OP and using it for stamina a lot of times is not worth it. My recommendation for summoning is to only summon for characters that you really like or for OP/strong characters, a few examples of new OP/strong characters to come on NA are Mlynar and Texas Alter. Some people will say to always go for waifu/husbando instead of meta and I agree, but sometimes going for a few OP/strong characters will make your life easier in the long run (especially if you're small brain like me :,C).
I think if you want to play Arknights (or any gacha game for that matter) as a f2p the best advice I can give is to have patience. Save your Orundum and don't pull on all banners, save OP for skins that you really like and spend your daily stamina. Obviously do all your daily-weekly missions since all of these resources are important and they are your primary source for Orundum

@jonne vitu as a f2p who had a very rough start (my first 6* was shining) nah, don't base your capabilities by how many 6* you have, a lot of the 4* are really great and there are also good 5* characters, so unless you are doing really hard challenges you will be fine, just make sure to watch guides or training plans so you get a bigger brain
You can use it for sanity but... it's not that good of an idea as a f2p , just use your natural regen sanity
Great video. I think you should make a video about "what contents should a new player focus on", now there are a lot of gamemodes in Arknights and not all of them is for newplayer so it can be confusing. Giving them guides and directions is worth for another video
Man Vifer on streams and Vifer on videos like this are two different people.
For me, use for whatever you want. You main source of gacha pulls are orundum for f2p player anyway. For me, saved at least 30-40 worth of OP for emergency pulls (In case your luck is abysmal on a banner), the rest you can spend it for skins.

Another easy way to get orundum is by using trade center in the base. This is the MOST EXPENSIVE way as it takes a lot of sanity to convert to orundum which mean less resource to grow your operator. But as F2P which do really strict selective pull, you will not have a lot of operator to grow anyway (and will have a lot of spare sanity). Thus if you are that kind F2P, just do this.
Building operator: for F2P, it is best to build low rarity operator 4 star with occasionally build 6 or 5 star. Some 4 star with max level, mastery, and module lvl 1 or 3 is not a joke. (Dr. Silvergun basically show you this).
As a year-old f2p player, i've been VERY lucky with my pulls and basically have every operator I need to play the game very comfortably to the point I either just need to borrow 1 character (it's either Saileach/Bagpipe/Ash) or I can borrow + replace missing with a bit of worse perfomance. Now I just save for limited or interesting banners and spend OPs on 18-21 skins that change a character greatly, like Mudrock's skin and others.
So far i have bought the level packs (around level 50+ now) and one skin for tsukinogi.
Also spent all my pulls trying to get tsukinogi from her banner and failed but atleast i can get a few outfits for when i eventually pull said operators.
I was doing the 10 pulls for each banner since i feel like my crew is limited but now im just going to save up as much as i can for when limiteds drop.
Im f2p and I spent 24 op on Godssenger new skin.

3 year account here, strongly agree with this video, the problem is, even though I also do a decent amount of saving, I'm literally always low on OP due to the fact that every single 6* I own at the moment must be L.90 + a Skin or two. I buy a lot of skins for characters that I use from time-to-time as well so you can guess how many OPs I lose each time there's a new skin line/outfit rerun.
For context on the 6-rarity thingy. I'm only missing 11 of them on Global. One of them is Carnelian and I have both of her skins. I'm not even worried about any upcoming skins since they come with an event and events literally give you enough to buy at least one of them. Arknights is way too comfortable compared to other gacha games out there that it is borderline scary.

There is another place to spend OPs if you dont really care about outfits , the lvl Enhancment pack in Shop , buy those will give you the same amount of Orundum ypu wouldve get converting OPs while giving extra rewards

Actually I think its right choice to spend op when you just started the game because new player wont be able to even complete all of the event stages, build base and receive free mats from is2 and so on... There no point to spend op on sanity only if you already build some great operators and can complete most of the content by urself.
But I agree about spending on pulls tho I rather buy almost 2 skins for my operators than spend it on 10 pulls and get a blue bag lol

This is an amazing guide,amazing job! But in my point of view i also recommend also using the OP at the "Pack" where u use your OP it gives you the same amount of orondum + good resources, its the pack that you get every....5 lvs? i dont remember :D

The only time I would recommend using OP to refresh sanity is if an event is just about to end but don't have enough sanity to clear all stages. The OP you used would be regained from those extra first clear rewards. Otherwise you'd have to wait a full year to replay those missed stages.
As a monthly card only player since december 2021 i've got quite a lot E2's, masteries and LVL3 Modules without refreshing sanity even once. And it could be even more if i didn't try to farm orundum just to see how it works for a month (not worth it at all, you trade all your monthly sanity for an extra tenroll lmao). My advice is to use OP to buy enhancement packs from shop (117 OP in total which gives you 21K orundum and free materials, which is just better than using OP for pulls and refreshes), and once you got them just save all op for skins.
You forgot to metion that there are Lvl. Up packs you can buy with OP converting OP to orundom and materials. Like that is one of the most important thing to remind newer players

IMO, having all the operators is a much wiser investment of OP, skins are cool but they are cosmetic only, the real game changers are the operators you ganha for...

I'm new, I think I used OP to pull twice, 1 10 pull in the current banner (the musician guy) and 1 10 pull in Executor Alter, BUT, it was a total of 15 OP spent (If I'm not mistaken, I made sure that I had enough Orundum to only need a couple of OP to top off the 6k), and truly, not worth it, but arknights is smart, they put cool looking banner in, I am immediately drawn out to the "10 pull" button, I will try to control myself for the future tho.

Heres to save time:
Best way to use OP as a f2p player is to use it for sanity restore to farm your operators faster also but the level packs if you are below level 70!
2nd best option is to use it for Gacha currency
3rd option is to buy skins and this can be your priority or not depending on your taste and howmuch you are willing to buy them

True F2P: farm rocks and convert them into Originium Shards. In the end, having new unit is all that matters.

I have seen so many people given bad advice to people such as converting all originium to orundum through enhancement pack just to get leveling up materials only to regret later when a skin that they want comes up and they couldn't afford it. Please do not spend on enhancement pack using your originium unless you don't want skin at all!

W skin is now 24... The skin has new dialogue, L2D, and skin effects. I've been playing for about 3 years and for my 1st year... I spent a lot of OP and regretted everything. Now I only use orundums to pull and only pull on a banner that I really wanted
I know how to spend mine, on outfits for waifu's, unfortunately there hasn't been a single decent skin for any of my favs, so it's just setting there tempting me when I get low on orundum.
My plan is to buy 7 skins for each day of the week for characters that I have as well as welfare ops and keep changing the different characters on different days

I've only ever bought one skin since it doesn't provide any actual advantage- also most of them don't interest me (most of the ones that do interest me are within the "Bloodline of Combat" brand, which also holds the one one skin that I did buy). I mainly use them on sanity to help grind resources, currency, and trust, though I did recently spend 300 on getting Jessica (it took 139 pulls to obtain, and I got bamboozled by Ho'olheyak and Fartooth)
Semi F2P (only monthly pass), no skins (only the free ones but i wanted Ash skin (ಥ﹏ಥ)), playing the daily missions, annihilation and with head in the pulls: around 180k orundum and 1010 OP.

Been playing since Year One of AK, and yeah I mainly spend on skins nowadays, unless I badly want to e2 a certain unit. Rarely do I spend OP on banner pulls, unless I really wanted the 6-star there
I am a F2P (end game) player. I spent all OPs on rolls, coz skins don't affect game plays at all. I have 231 out of the total 246 operators.
Spending on skins is absolute bullshit. As a F2P player, once you've cleared all side quests and main story stages, your only OP income is from events and rewards, in other words not that much. Limited characters make it hard to roll or even save up because if you wanna have all limited characters (most of them are really strong) then you will need to save up every last drop of OP and potentially even spend if your luck is not great.
If you're like me and you've missed out on old limited characters, you will need at least 300 pulls on a limited banner to afford an old limited character from the store. Aside from not being able to collect that much OP to afford 300 pulls in between limited banners, you are also skipping all reruns and new non-limited characters in between.
In my personal experience, I cleared half of the main story stages (6-12) both modes, did all events in a 3 month period and did around 4-5 side stories between Mu/Ho'ol banner to Ejya alter's banner. I was able to gather 250 pulls from all of those things and still had to pay the extra 50 pulls to reach 300 and get an old limited character. I skipped multiple non-limited high priority banners too. I've now reached the end game and all I can do is farm OP from events. I will be nowhere close to getting an old limited on the next limited banner and I am still missing loads of non-limited characters that I really want. And with Arknight's horrible 2-3 operators per banner gacha system, you can lose an infinite amount of 50/50s and not get the character you want even if you have hundreds of pulls. So the truth is, you can't really keep up with the game unless you pay. And if you buy a skin, you are probably gonna have to skip a couple of banners to recover.
AK is very generous in many things. You get LMD passively, you get EXP cards passively, events tend to contain many many valuable things, rates are pretty good (the only rates that I know of that beat AK's 2% is AL's 5% for SR, relative equivalent to 6* in AK), you can save up enough to buy 6*s without pulling if you really wanted to, whenever we get mail we always get good stuff, among others. Life's pretty chill.

as a f2p, ive only ever used op for two things; buying outfits and (rarely) refreshing sanity. never for pulls, for some reason.

I mean in all honesty , that is a you problem my friend , using OP in a standard banner with a 25% chance to get a specific 6 star is not a wise move, especially considering that Mountain in shop and saga coming to shop in June...
Besides , getting 1 6 star in 50 pulls might not be the best luck out there, it is far from bad rates

The truth is I ran out of orandum cause of Dorothy, I got like 60 more pulls left after her and alleged Saga (I got cunny, I don't even use supporter beside Ling or Orchid)

I only bought gladiia skin and I don't regret it although I'm f2p, also I don't regret pulling Dorothy with every single one of currency possible
