Good fun Chris. I don't speak any foreign languages. I'm always impressed by people who can speak other languages though...and Chinese and other Asian languages sound incredibly difficult to my mono lingual ear. On a more serious note...through your, and a few other similar type UA-cam posts...I have begun to see that Chinese people are in many ways not so very different than us in the west...so thank you for helping me feel less...prejudiced...in the assumption that they were. Kevin, I've lived in 7 countries and traveled to 22 so far. I am learning my 7th language. People are SO MUCH more similar than they are different. Many of the same jokes make people laugh in every culture. Many of the same foods appeal to nearly all. Most people have the same concerns (health, family, security) no matter what the nationality. I LOVE diving into a new culture. If I plan far enough out to go to a new place, then I deep dive into learning as much as I can about it before hand both culturally and linguistically. I have made so many incredible friends and memories along the way.
