Nice tip. Years ago, there was a company selling suction cup sticks to stick on screen that gave you actual joysticks...not sure if they are still around or not.
Love your video. Love the cruise control on my neo. So upset that I do not have this function on my mini 3 pro. Do you think it's possible to add cruise control on M3P and can we expect an update from DJI to that effect
I was really disappointed to find my Mini 3 Pro controller does not work. The App is very buggy and keeps crashing. As I will demonstrate in my review video soon. Thanks for sharing your thoughts as always.
Quick Question Gavin, whilst you were up above the boats in manual is it then possible to select a snapshot mode for example spotlight select a boat then bring the Neo down whilst the gimbal would auto adjust to keep the boat center frame. Thanks
Good tips, bur flying the Neo with a controller (I use the RC 2 Screen Controller) is so much better in comparison to a phone for cinematic flying. I did some great cinematic flying as can be seen in my latest video. Flying in wind, close to objects and over water. The little Neo is so versatile and does it all😀Greetings from 🇳🇱
Oh absolutely my friend nothing will replace the controller and all the extra functionality that comes with it but at least people now know it’s possible to get smoother footage :)
I agree, but I have a mini pro 3 that I use for footage like that. I don’t wanna have to carry all that stuff around or an extra controller. I’m gonna have my phone anyway and the Neo so small it’s easier for me to transport. FYI I lived in Saraburi 🇹🇭 for 5 years I retired in Southern Mindanao 🇵🇭
With the Hover X1 in manual mode I've been able to operate the drone with the 8BitDo Zero2 game controller. I'm wondering if DJI might develop a tiny controller like this for the NEO? Thanks for your vids Gavin.
My hell!!! That is the worst UX design. I’ve been going “why is this so lame?” It is just not intuitive. They need to change the color of the “joysticks” so people realize. I am totally shocked that this is how they work. That is how it should be designed to works and is way more intuitive. I am trying it first thing in the morning. I can’t believe no one else has mentioned this. I’ve watched a million videos, but just got mine last week in the US
ha indeed, needs to be clearer, just make the centre circles a colour or something but you're very welcome glad you found it useful, let me know how you get on!
I had no idea thanks! Great tip along with the 9:16 video information. I have a mini 3 pro but the Neo is so much better for my needs and I don’t want to spend the extra money on a controller. Thanks again for some great information and hello to the pooch🐶
Thanks for the great tip on using the joysticks for smoother DJI Neo flight! Your video was very helpful. Can’t wait to try it out. Bonus points for Manny! Maybe mention battery limits earlier. Overall, great video!
It’s perfect for holiday snaps and capturing quick footage I would say however that being said it can’t be denied that with a controller it can do plenty!
I did not know about the sticks option until just now, thanks. Hope I can catch the rabbits much more smoothly lol and all this time I thought the best looking footage was falling back sideways out of control through thick fog lmao jk
I like ur content bro and ya look like a nice guy who would be my friend in real life, just a little thumbs up to keep doing what ya r doing m8,all the best from Serbia!
Thank you. I didn't know this and have been looking for a way to alter the flight speed. Really useful video.

I mean in normal flying mode because it is there in Hyperlapse mode ONLY.

Do you think? I have found the app work perfectly, could do with a bit more information but please send me a link when your review is live
Brilliant! Hadn’t tried that yet tanks!
I've flown with digital flight sticks before, and you are correct. I use my thumbs to fly with the digital sticks. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Cheers Ron!
Quick Question Gavin, whilst you were up above the boats in manual is it then possible to select a snapshot mode for example spotlight select a boat then bring the Neo down whilst the gimbal would auto adjust to keep the boat center frame. Thanks
unfortunately whilst that would be ideal its my understanding it will only work when it detects a human unless using the actual controller
@@GAVINHR understandable thanks Gavin
well explained sir!
Thanks Gavin for this useful tip. Much appreciated.
My pleasure!
I haven’t used manual control yet so this was very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

lol 6 years flying drones I never noticed the centre stick lol so obvious… nice one gav , Now I feel like a right knob!
haha! mate we all miss things! thanks for watching as always!
Great tip buddy. Yet again you highlight another feature that no other youtuber mentions 👍👍💪
Thanks Graham! I’ll take that as you pretty much watch every other UA-camr, I’m sure some will know but I bet plenty wont!
Gavin
If I’m flying FPV and manage to crash
Does the model have a kill switch or does it do itself
Tia

Damm I was cussing the other day that it’s hard to get smooth footage with the arrows, thanks man this will help
You’re very welcome!
I didn't know this so thank you, this is really useful!
Glad it was helpful!
Can the camera zoom?
Sadly no. It would be nice to have some digital zoom, its all "foot zoom" or "move the drone to zoom" :D
Yep as the other commenter mentioned there is no zoom
Nice one mate its not a drone i would consider but still a clever wee bit of kit and she is adorable
Thanks matey!
Is there a way to update the Max flight distance? I get that message every time I try to fly manually. Max flight distance reached.
The max flight distance without a controller is only 50m I am afraid with no way to increase it

Nice video
I didn't know! Nice tip cheers 👍
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
Great advice and great video.
Thank you very kindly
Very cool I didn’t know that. Hey Manny 👋🐾🐝🍻
Funny, I had no idea you could just tap the buttons. The intuitive thing is to grab the virtual sticks in the center.
Thanks for the great tip on using the joysticks for smoother DJI Neo flight! Your video was very helpful. Can’t wait to try it out. Bonus points for Manny! Maybe mention battery limits earlier. Overall, great video!
Thank you very much!
The drone moves really slow with the phone app, the RC -N3 seems to get the drone moving fairly quickly.
indeed, full functionality with the RC-N3 but the app control is a nice backup
Very interesting keep looking at these little drones to compliment my air 2 still undecided lol
It’s perfect for holiday snaps and capturing quick footage I would say however that being said it can’t be denied that with a controller it can do plenty!
Neo is great fun, well worth the $200.
Nice one Gav. Yes i used the on screen sticks like real ones but have seen alot of yt videos with real jerky movement . Ps the puppy looks sooo cute ❤
Thanks Rich! Yup they are exponential :)
I did not know about the sticks option until just now, thanks. Hope I can catch the rabbits much more smoothly lol and all this time I thought the best looking footage was falling back sideways out of control through thick fog lmao jk
Now if we can just get DJI to allow for Landscape mode on the phone display we could even have better control of the sticks.
And would make my editing much easier so I’m all for it 👍

NEO!
All I can say is AHHHHH
I serious people are flying like that is because they're not used to playing video games
