If you're ever down in my state, check out Toomer's Drugs in Auburn, AL. It's very well known and similar. They're known for their lemonade among other things.
@@BollingHolt thanks for the tip! Probably won’t make it out your way unless I hit the lottery and start traveling far away to pick pinball machines for the collection…. But I don’t play the lottery! 💰🚙🤣🤣🤣
Welcome back! I can't think of a single store like that in Houston. There are some in Mexico. Drugstores and restaurants still get paired up frequently. I posted a mall video from 2018 on my channel for the first time in a long while. So how did election week go for you? Happy or sad?
@@jeee1074 thanks! Oh… the drug stores where medicine is 100x cheaper than here in the US? 😄 Unfortunately no comment on the voting here for the channel. Our country is torn apart because many people cannot talk politics without losing their minds… on both sides. It’s like whack a mole. Whatever you like about a candidate, someone that doesn’t like that candidate will focus on some other issue you’re not focused on and rant on how the person you like is no good and you’re stupid also….it’s literal insanity and many many people have been programmed to react to anything they don’t like in that manner. The biggest issue I have is that most people NEVER peel back the first layer of what they see or have been told. Questioning what agenda is behind action and messaging is something our country has lost… 😞
I certainly understand not wanting to talk politics. You are absolutely right. The chain drugstores in Mexico, like Sanborns, are pretty fancy and are the same company as Sears Mexico. We definitely have an extra layer of people we have to pay here for our prescriptions, aka shareholders, lol. The Sanborns restaurant is really good, BTW. Lots of options similar to what you would find at an IHOP or Denny's, along with Mexican dishes.
@@jeee1074that sounds great! I wonder if here in the states some of the old style of small food counters in stores might come back in some manner. Considering how much retail square footage costs and how many retailers that focus on only one sector of products are falling like dead trees… maybe diversifying with food counters and other services that require minimal space and minimal staffing will start trending. 🤔
@charlestonpinballarcade There are a couple of malls here in Texas that were brought back to life with a focus on the Latino and Hispanic population. There are small spaces in markets available to jump-start a business. Some of the small stores and food vendors have moved to full-sized spaces. The markets have small food courts along with the mall food court, giving shoppers a ton of options. La Gran Plaza and PlazAmerica's Mall are the two malls I am referring to if you want to check them out. There are even sit-down restaurant options available, especially at PlazAmerica's Mall.
Wow....I went there once YEARS ago!! Forgot all about it. Great video. Thanks for the memory!
They told me about you... 😂😂😂
@charlestonpinballarcade I forgot about them...but they didn't forget about me? *hair flip* How flattering🤣🤣🤣

I never been in this place, I ve seen it from the road. It always seemed really busy.
@@crazyadventuresandreviews you should go! The menu looks good and I think they also allow crazy people in! 🤣🤣🤣
@ idk I’m pretty Crazy
Good stuff, this is the kind of undersung real place that needs more spotlight. 😎
@@Dozenspeed definitely! Thanks. I’m sure you have some hiding in your vicinity!
Hiott’s Pharmacy on Washington St in Walterboro is similar. No lunchebette but the counter and soda fountain are still there and operating.
Oh yes! I have been in there. They have some ice cream and regular soda but unfortunately it’s a bit of a shell of what it used to be back in the day.
