I'm fully equipped with recovery gear including a PTO winch. But usually I'm using all that stuff to get others unstuck. The only 2 times I've been stuck I was alone with no trees or boulders around to winch off of. Got out all by my lonesome using my High-Lift jack and my trusty shovel. Good job on Jake for having the Right Stuff. Buttermilk biscuits.
Awesome adventure! I really dig the crunchy metal guitars in the soundtrack! Been to AZ but never the Flagstaff area, you're right it doesn't look like the stereotypical Arizona. Man, lucky for the winch on his truck! Incredible views!
Too fun on the mountain...love it. We rented a hummer in Ruidoso NM and just ran around on dirt roads on the different pikes. So fun...saved this place..
Little America’s showers are awesome another good one is Bosselmans in Grand Island Nebraska . Truckers lounge in Windover Nevada are free and awesome also
That place must be really windy all the time. Last time I was in the vicinity, winds were at least 50 kts. Leaning trees at the tops of hills indicate it probably is windy like that all the time! Don't leave home without yer winch! Never know when it will be needed in a pinch.

I try that hill many times (2:17)... It gets soft at the top. I seem to always turn around at the large downed tree. 2wd problems
