The saddest thing about this film is the books really stand out amongst YA in my opinion... so naturally it got a c- grade surface level adaptation. Your point about silly sci-fi names is still valid from the books. However... the books have depth and the silly names kind of help show how shallow the culture Tally is born into is, versus say the culture of The Smoke. I am not sure it can be adapted to screen well. Beauty is not objective and beauty standards go through fads. That is the main theme. So any adaptation would be kind of frozen in time. I would say, if YA books are at all your thing, they are worth a read. Probably future adaptations are not worth your time but you know that. Thanks for watching this and reviewing it!
It definitely seems like a better book than movie. I am very slowly getting back into reading, and might just give Uglies a chance!!! Thanks for watching my friend!!!!
