That is one massive beautiful tortoise. It's so awesome that they can live that long. I bet if tortoises can talk they would definitely have some crazy stories to tell
Awwww... that FACE ! Well steeped in experience and wisdom. Even born looking old. Turtles and tortoises were my very first animal love ....and that love has never left me.
What an unbelievable animal! I was inspired to ask the interwebs about Galaps, and learned that particular island in the archipelago helped literally "shape" their carapaces in subtle ways. Fascinating! Also your friend sounds so much like Jerry Stiller! Love what I do ☺️
I’m one of those new subs of which Kenan spoke, so this is my first visit with Sam. What a wealth of knowledge Sam has, and if Adolf could only talk, WOW! Over 100 years of history. Anyone who could harm a beautiful, defenseless, innocent creature like Adolf should be treated the same way. Makes me sad and furious to hear of such awful behavior. Great vid. Excellent camera work and lots of interesting info. I could watch that precious tort boi for hours. ❤🎉🐢
Good Morning Kenan. Love it when you visit Sam. He has such dedication, love, and passion for all of his tortoises. They are all so well taken care of. He is a true legend, and his knowledge about them is shared with others. Adolph is beautiful. And a gentle giant. I have so much respect for you, and all of your beautiful fish, and reptiles. ❤🐊🦎🐍🐢Cindy
Just to meet one of these animals in my life would be incredible what an honour to be a custodian and also have friendships that allow you to hang out with them 🤯 i love that its never lost on you how fortunate you are to be where you are despite the fact that you have worked so hard for it 🙌
Sam's daughters are so lucky he's their dad. I wish he was my dad. He seems like such a cool dude. I would love love love to meet him and see his farm. I'm investing in some enclosures in my backyard(12 acres of land lol) and maybe I need to make a trip and get one from Sam. He seems trustworthy
I need to see more of Sam's Giant Tortoise Farm! Listening to you talk was amazing! But you kept saying "how many animals" he had! Adolf was enough for 1 video - that's so true! He was wonderful! Kenan, you ARE still young, but it's never too soon to have an exit plan! My daughter was driving, and her back tire caught on some black ice, and she totaled our car. She's fine. But if there had been any other cars on the road when her car went into a 360⁰ spin, it might not have ended as well. She's 31. You're in your 40s, and you ride your bike miles - probably on the road and not all off-road! Here in Utah, we have bike riders hit fairly often. I want to think that you'll live as long as Adolf. I'm hoping to watch you for as many years as I have left - at least 15 - 20. Keep safe. Keep teaching us so much about animals - monitors and turtles and tortoises, especially! Keep being you, Kenan!
I could listen to Sam talk all day .... for DAYS. I love it when you visit Sam! On a side note: is it wrong that I wish I could put my hand through the screen and clean off Adolph's messy face? I keep thinking to myself, "Come here Mister. You need a wash up!" And get out the wet rag.......
Can I fly from Michigan to FL and record a tour of the Kamp ? I’m trying to start breeding Sailfin Dragons, I also Just got my first Asian Water Monitors after researching and learning from Slinky and yourself ! Thanks for sharing !
It like looking at a brontosaurus when it's stretching it's neck and standing to get the food, legit the most majestic animal I'm existence. I can't get over the age... do you know the oldest age in captivity or is not quite known
Another great episode - torts rule 😎 I particularly enjoyed Sam´s vignette about these giants' excellent long-term memory. In case this is of interest to fellow tortoise fanatics: I recently found another channel with pretty good content, although it´s still very small. www.youtube.com/@spacecoasttortoise
He doesn't explain how and why they came in. Nantucket whalers brought them from the Galapagos as food, pretty sad story actually, but once they were here, especially if they were sick, they were handed off to people who could (maybe) take care of them, and since they're so hearty, they can handle most conditions
Wow! What a big, beautiful and interesting creature! I loved it when he came up to the camera, and the close ups of him eating that lettuce, I thought that was so cute!!❤❤ Not gonna lie, it pissed me off when I heard how Adolph got that hole in his shell after some asshole kid stabbed him with a big breaker bar! That's so disgusting, I couldn't do that to an animal like that! Im no vegan, but still!
Does anyone know if The Professor's (Adolph) shell damaged or at his age is that flattening effect towards the back of his shell normal for Galapagos torts?
I get almost hysterical when I think someone is leaning on one of those incredible tortoises. I just want to shove them back. Stand up, tortoises aren’t for holding your dead weight up.
@3:10 -- Taking interest in Matt or whoever's running the camera. Maybe he wants to bite the camera for all we know! "Does THIS strange person have more food for me?" appears to be Adolph's burning thought at he ignores both Kenan and his caretaker! Torts have such an alien intelligence. The only animals I've found to be more bizarre are frogs (and toads) and frankly they make the torts seem petulant, almost cat-like by comparison.
That is one massive beautiful tortoise. It's so awesome that they can live that long. I bet if tortoises can talk they would definitely have some crazy stories to tell
Thanks so much for watching!!
Sam is such an incredible educator. I love all of Kenan's friends, and I could listen to them for days and never get bored.
Thanks so much for watching!
How beautiful. Seeing Adolph curiously come up and check out the camera, those big beautiful eyes and personality. Just awesome.
Yes! Great eyes! 🐢 🐢 🐢
Thanks so much for the very kind words!! Adolph appreciates it!

I love it when my day starts with Kenan!
Good morning Jessica!
Awwww... that FACE ! Well steeped in experience and wisdom. Even born looking old. Turtles and tortoises were my very first animal love ....and that love has never left me.
Sam seems to be so honest and trustworthy as well as truthful. And so inspirational to listen to. So thank you for visiting him
Thanks so much JB, appreciate the kind words.
Adolph is gorgeous! Thankyou Sam for taking such good care of him and all your animals! Thank you Kenan for sharing this!
I could listen to Sam all day. He’s very knowledgeable and just loves his animals

My gosh, what a gorgeous Gallop!!! 🐢❤️🐢
Professor!! Love him and Sam ❤
Love when you visit Sam, please do some super size vids with him! His knowledge needs to be heard ❤
Thanks so much for watching!! Appreciate the very kind words, Raven!

What an amazing animal! Giant tortoises are so beautiful and resilient, remarkable creatures! I hope I get to meet one in person someday
I hope so too!
I love when you visit Sam. I love Aldolph and the entire crew. My dream is to have an Aldabra or Galop one day!! Great informative video as always! ♡

I got to meet Adolph on August first last year. He’s really great tortoise. The Aldabras I picked up from Sam are really thriving in east Texas.
And showing no signs of slowing down. Amazing! What a blessing hes had such superb care throughout his life!!
something about watching him slowly munch those greens is so calming lol idk why
His right leg looks like it hurts when he walks. Thank you Kenan!! This is so cool.
I need to see more of Sam's Giant Tortoise Farm!

Such a majestic creature
They're such cutely messy eaters! ❤
I have a pic of my little tortie covered with her meal--it's adorable!
Sam, what a fantastic guy you are!
Could listen all day
I love this! Just watched the video again 💚
Sam is a National treasure 💚💙💚
Such a beautiful animal. The things he has seen in his life.❤️❤️❤️🐢🐢🐢
Love it when you visit Sam. Visited him a few times and got three Aldabras and a couple iguanas.

I love adolph. He pops up on various channels from time to time. Such a cutie ❤
I want one! He’s adorable, I just want to cuddle him
I love his little pink nose.
A magnificent, majestic, massive, cute aldabra tortoise. My God he's beautiful!
he's such a beautiful creature, I don't think there's anything else that need's to be said
The only Adolph I like!!
(Can you do an update on your tortoises)
Absolutely beautiful Kenan !
That's great. So impressive seeing an animal that is so old and healthy.
Adolf or the professor is incredible! Wow, super beautiful xxxx
Good video thanks 😊
Always love videos with Sam!
Looks like a mini brachiosaurus, so majestic
Looking at him makes you wonder what he’s been thru in his life before he came to you. !amazing ❤
Such a stunning Dinosaur!
It is amazing how long they live, though desisse, predators, and humans.
Loving these videos checking out other peoples setups/animals, Great tours and commentary as always.
What a awesome tortoise
That tortoise was like he's going back there for something I gotta find out wtf is back there I gotta get back there one day
Love your videos. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks for all the info. Brothers
Wow 😮 what a beautiful handsome boy Adolf is 🐢
Amazing
This big boy was around when refrigerators were just starting to become commonplace.
Yoooo morning off to a great start
Morning!
Can I fly from Michigan to FL and record a tour of the Kamp ? I’m trying to start breeding Sailfin Dragons, I also Just got my first Asian Water Monitors after researching and learning from Slinky and yourself ! Thanks for sharing !
Does Adolf have teeth?! Such a beautiful tortoise.
Wow that is amazing 💖
There's just nothing better than a giant tortoise. except maybe a century-old giant tortoise
Hey kenan great video man keep em coming oh and can you update us on your caimans
Adolph is cute. I had to freeze the video to take a screenshot of his lettuce face. Lol. I need a good screen background to lift my day.
God bless....we should be so lucky
I need a house just for one of these special giants lol, a bit cold in Maine most of the time.
Should I get Insurance for my 2 year old red foots? Huge fan! Good luck
Sam is a Legend...
What kind of a deranged freak would stab a tortoise??? Hope that person is in prison or the grave. How sad. So glad they saved that beautiful ole guy.
Hopefully he'll be blessed with loving caretakers for the rest of his long life. I'd like for him to reach 200 years of age.
Yeah I think this is amazing BIG DOGGIE 💯👣
Whoa!!!!
I hope I look that good at 106. 😂
Poor baby! What is wrong with some people??? (Stabbing a harmless tortie is just unfathomable!!!)
do you still sell Cherry Head Tortoises?
It like looking at a brontosaurus when it's stretching it's neck and standing to get the food, legit the most majestic animal I'm existence. I can't get over the age... do you know the oldest age in captivity or is not quite known
un amore!
Well, he’s certainly outlived another famous Adolph
When I realized the particular shape of Adolph's shell, I thought that he looks pretty much like a weight lifter - but hey, that's what he really is 🙂
Amazing tortoise bet it is very strong and heavy to :) dinosaur 🦕
How many caretakers has he had in his long life? He’s awesome ❤
What an absolute unit , hot daium
Is that shell normal or did it have health issues early in life?
Is it just me, or does this fella sound like Penn Jillette?
Sam is da Man!
I mean...come on...Who wouldn't want to hang out with that amazing tortoise? If only they could tell us their tales!
They must have named him that back before that first name was ruined..
👍👍👍❤❤❤🐢🐢🐢

How come they live for so long
He doesn't explain how and why they came in. Nantucket whalers brought them from the Galapagos as food, pretty sad story actually, but once they were here, especially if they were sick, they were handed off to people who could (maybe) take care of them, and since they're so hearty, they can handle most conditions
Why is he called Adolph tho? What was he up to during WWII?
I wish I could own one of these beautiful creatures
But I'm in Australia 🇦🇺 and simply can not own anything like this
Aussie nanna
Does anyone know if The Professor's (Adolph) shell damaged or at his age is that flattening effect towards the back of his shell normal for Galapagos torts?
*is damaged
I get almost hysterical when I think someone is leaning on one of those incredible tortoises. I just want to shove them back. Stand up, tortoises aren’t for holding your dead weight up.
Don't get me wrong the turtle is beautiful and I wish I could have one. But why in the world would you name him Adolf
Cause he can , the tortoise is not from austria and he's not a failed painter 🤣
He was named after his original owner Adolph Coors
I'm sure he was named before WW2.
He said they started calling him
Professor.
@@alincoln8377 Exactly 👍🏼💯
Wow so when he was born the world still didn’t know who Hitler was fascinating
Adolph "Koors" -- Galap subspecies, alias "the beer tortoise"!
I guess he named after Adolph hitler great video I pray any and everybody who was affected by hitler reign isn’t affected by this video
After Adolph Coors, original owner
That was Adolf not 'Adolph'. And this guy was born before Hitler came to power.
