  • Hopefully this video comes at a good timing for those doing some winter planting (for those in the southern hemisphere) of deciduous bare-rooted trees! Let us know in the comments what was relevant for you and what plantings you've been getting busy with this season!
Frida and Sean cover the basic considerations for planting bare-rooted grafted trees. We explain the depth and width your planting hole should be, the soil amendments that help create a more free draining soil. We cover how best to orientate the graft in consideration to the sun and prevailing winds to reduce chances of the graft snapping, as well as why we angle our trees when planting on a slope. We also address how best to lay the roots of the bare-rooted tree with in the planting hole.
We hope this unpacks some of the fundamental considerations needed to ensure the optimum health of your plantings!
    Enjoy!

Cool vid, you guys! So many great tips, thank you. Any recommendations on staking new plantings... how far from tree, what side of tree, when is it necessary and when is it not? Thank you
