I started Bboying because of my older brother in the '90s. He started in the '80s. In 1994 my friends and I started a crew and way before the internet we only had access to VHS from anyone who bought the latest Anime, And-1, and Bboy videos. We always watched Style Elements videos. Like Crumbs mentioned, as much as biting and originality come to mind, it was common in the early '90s to have the best power moves because of the popularity of the flares and the evolution of the windmills from the regular windmills. ESPECIALLY when COMBOS were invented in Power Moves. When power took over at the time it was considered to have the better ability to not touch your feet on the floor. It was imperative that you do not touch your feet on the floor. Example: Flare to 90s, shouldn't have your feet touch the floor at all. Flare, 90s, flare, windmill and such. Now you get the idea. Which Super Dave raised the bar. So, at the time before Style Elements, everyone had the obsession to have the better and most consistent combos during a battle. It was whoever can last with the most windmills or flares. (Keep in mind, Style Elements wasn't the first to do the six step to pose and I'll explain how I remember it) Style Elements went on to the big stage in '97 and all of my friends watched history unfold in Bboying. When I saw Crumbs come out in his yellow pants and performed the knees drop, my first reaction was in disbelief and horrified at the same time. I didn't like it at first but I had that "OH, SHIT!" (got them) moment. Then as we all watched and how Crumbs out did everyone with one move after another WITHOUT power combos! We were in shock and we thought we were dancing all wrong! Remind steps in and when he did his top rock, we were like, "Yo, he''s dancing!" Then he gets on his head and he was dancing on his head! Remind WAS ON HIS HEAD AND HIS FEET NEVER TOUCHED THE FLOOR!!! Whaaat In The Actual FAAAWK?!!! He didn't do a single power move and his feet never touched the ground! Crumbs and Remind did what others didn't do, VARIETY. They were doing what others didn't do and both their styles looked so different. We were in shock after that. My friends and I got real quiet and started practicing and took Bboying seriously after that moment. I have more to say, but in my personal opinion, STYLE ELEMENTS didn't just revolutionize Bboying, but revamped Bboying when it was almost dead. While everyone was into gangs and doing crime, they brought back the art of TRUE HIP-HOP!!! Thank you, Style Elements.

Turn down the volume on the static transitions, they’re way too loud. Great to see the history of Crumbs, he looks healthy here
