Have always loved Rita despite her silly mistakes and almost always faltering at the biggest events. While I feel sorry for Yana, it was awesome to have Rita finally win a big one especially after all the negativity she's been through. Kudos to the sports psychologist who worked with her as well.
I remember i almost cried during Rita's ribbon performance in Rio. It was clear that she'd be the olympic champion, and for a moment i remembered all of her silly mistakes, at EC 2014, at WCH 2015, her clumsy execution back in 2013, all the bad comments i read and Viner's words in interviews, 'she's not competitive'. There she was, the 'Black Swan' ending music, 'it was perfect'! And now, i almost cried once again. Especially when Amina is talking about Mamun's father. So sad and so symbolic that for once the maid became the queen days before her dad's death. Rita is such an example of perseverance and unbelievably hard work - black blood WTF!? I wish her all the happiness and joy in this life
After watching and listening to this video makes one wonder just how much incredible pressure/ strain Rita was under going into Rio...when she completes the final ribbon routine at Rio,and drops her head, and when shes at the Rio medal ceremony about to receive her much deserved Gold you can kind of feel shes was so glad it was all over...amazing really.. .the battle was huge..but the war was won...She was, i believe, always destined to become Olympic Champion..The Golden Angel
I'am completely falling in love of Rita, seriously. She worked so so hard, I guess that the Olympic medal is the most special one because it is the first time that she won gold in the AA podium in her life.
Вите очень трудно пришлось А нас подростковом возрасте в семье не находилась где с мамой болит была вообще она сама на себе перешла взросление детство Юность всякие неудачи все понятия вот эти переходные
And people were talking about her as "the clumsy gymnast who makes mistakes all the time". You see that people? Just imagine what Yana is going through right now. And imagine what the reasons of Sasha's issues could be instead of talking with no reason at all.
+Sylla Atlas Not sure what you mean exactly. Yana is and will always be one of the greats. She made a mistake at the wrong time and it cost her dearly. With Rita, even now, some will say she got a lucky break. Rita was a clumsy gymnast mentally not technically. She has the technique and execution but was a mental midget as evidenced by her success in small competitions but faltering in the spotlight. However she worked hard and worked with a sports psychologist and Rita finally overcame that. As for Sasha, she's technically flawed at the moment and is behind the Averinas and even Bravikova lately. Sasha needs to work on the technical aspects first.
trolldevil dean Your comment just shows so much that you are one of those who still think that success in RG is determined by training methods, abilities and fitness. Just so ignorant. Of course Yana will be remembered as one of the Greatest. She was incomparable. I just said that because she is a perfectionnist. And not having that Gold, not having performed perfectly, is not her style. As I saw her in an interview she didn't seem well, I just hope she will get over it. But she was equal to Mamun. "Mentally a clumsy gymnast". Do you even hear yourself?? Seriously? How can you say something like that after watching this video? Rita was the great hope after the Kanaeva Era. Viner, Zaripova, the whole russian campus was clear: they wanted from her that she'd be the dominant gymnast, winning like Zhenya. And no one got that she actually wasn't a winning machine. They didn't see her as a person herself. So she did mistakes. But she worked. She got through, she almost died, but she got through. Rita seriously is the strongest gymnast (mentally) I've ever had the extreme pleasure to see. And to say that that Gold in Rio was luck is pure nonsense. It was deserved. Not because she was better than Yana, but because of her mesmerizing performances. Gymnasts should be remembered because of their routines, not because of their medals. But as it's like that, I was so happy that Rita got that Gold. Because now, she won't be forgotten. She and Yana will remain forever at least in the top ten (right now they are definitely on n.2 after Kabaeva and Kanaeva who are n.1). But what you are not getting is that it doesn't matter how much they train or how much they work on something. Do you even know the skills Sasha has? Watch one of the backstage videos of her playing around in the warmup. I can tell you, that's a whole different level than what what she shows us in competition. And so is every russian gymnast. Even Kabaeva said it: "She knows the elements Mamun can do, but as they don't count, she won't risk them." Sasha maybe has mental issues right now, we don't know about and which are probably the same Mamun had, and which prevent her from performing properly. Bravikova and the Averinas superior to Soldatova? That's ridiculous.
Dude chill out and read properly first before calling others ignorant. 1. You said "Sasha maybe has mental issues right now, we don't know about and which are probably the same Mamun had" but you disagree that Mamun was mentally not that strong before. She worked with a sports PSYCHOLOGIST for crying out loud to help her overcome it. And I have tons of respect for that. But naturally Yana was always the best prior to all her injuries. 2. I said "some" people still say Mamun got lucky. Not me. You have some problems understanding and jumping to conclusions. Yes she was Kanaeva's heir but all of the RG world was laughing at that statement during Kiev 2013. So stop being disillusioned. 3. FYI Mamun is my favourite over Yana because her style was so similar to Kanaeva. Plus Rita is really humble like Zhenya. 4. Success in any sport is based on wins and medals. I love Rita and I love Sasha too but I'm not blind to see their weaknesses during competitions. No one cares what they can do in their homes or training ground. If they can't duplicate that on the carpet then it means shit.
Success based on "mesmerizing" performances is very subjective. It depends on the style you like. That's why there's a scoring system and judging. I find the likes of Kanaeva, Kabaeva and Chachina to be most mesmerizing. Others find the likes of Bessonova and some nut (Viner) probably find Kapranova to be mesmerizing. And everyone of them has given out of this world performances once in their lives like Charkashyna in London or Kondakova's hoop in Montpellier. Even Kapranova's hoop in Beijing was really nice. In the end, history books remember medals because out of all these "mesmerizing" performances, judges objectively gave one the highest scores. So it means nothing if Sasha can't bring out her "skills" on the carpet. This, I find very disturbing. A very young Kanaeva couldn't perform some skills in training but was adamant on performing it in competition despite Araijs telling her not to, and she made that skill in competition. That's a champ's mentality. Sasha better start working with psychologist. Soon she'll be the Anna Pogorilaya of RG. Beautiful, flexible, expressive...make a ton of errors and loses her place to consistent youngsters.
11:00 - the other girl on the right side is Alexandra Soldatova, one of the most beautiful women in the world. You don't see her face, but can't mistake her with anyone.

Both Rita and Amina are amazing people. Amina is great coach, she relives every movement of her gymnasts on the carpet.

слава тренеру! не отвернулась, не "выбросила", а искала любой способ помочь...
I want so bad to see her again on stage 💕 she is true inspiration !
that will be hard to compete with Averinas... but who knows)))
amazing. I hope they publish the documentary about Mamun that they were doing.
