Your logic makes perfect sense in holding the four card flush in this situation. I would like to share a summary from some recent time at the office working with my co-worker 8/5 BP. I played a total of 4650 hands (all single line). I connected for a total of fourteen quads, only four were holding trips, hit quad aces three times (the Paul hand one time, holding a single ace), two quad 10's just four minutes apart, and two quads were identical with the exact same kicker and nearly the same order on the screen! Two straight flushes one dealt and the other an open-ended with one gap.I was dealt six to eight full houses in less than thirty minutes. I was dealt straights back-to-back. The start and the finish were strong, while the middle was more of a grind. Free play was 3.4% of coin-in including bounce back and several promotions. Have a great week!

Thank you, Bill. Yes, it took a world pandemic and lockdowns for “The Slotmassacre” to begin launching his own videos. And it only took my seeing just one of those videos for me to go on a “Quest” to find and meet this video poker Svengali. Once the lockdowns were over and Vegas re-opened, Andrew & I, (without knowing each other), were independently responding to all the overly-generous free play offers that the casinos were flooding the market with in order to revive their city. Slotmassacre was launching videos even in-between his video poker sessions while in Vegas. It took me 90 days of going back & forth to Vegas on all those offers, to finally track him down. Ground-zero for that meeting was at Caesars Palace in August of 2020. We became good friends after that, and since I was the 1st to hit a $100,000 Royal Flush jackpot, Andrew posted it on his UA-cam Channel in a big way on a video entitled, “Video Poker Legend” $15 in free play to a $100,000 Win. The relative “fame” that came from that video had players asking Andrew about me every chance they saw him. Many times players would see us playing video poker together in Vegas along with Bigkats Poker, Docs Gambling, and Curtis, and they would come-up and greet us. Over time, Andrew kept encouraging me to launch my own channel. He & I made my 1st video and launched it together in November of 2021. I’ve made all the rest on my own ever since (with occasional guidance from Andrew). He literally changed my life in a super big way. The imprint he made upon me has been enormous. And completely changed the trajectory of my life’s path. The whole experience has just been “unbelievable”. Slotmassacre is a World Changer!😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Thank you for the tour and introduction of Pechanga. Very helpful for my upcoming visit!!! I appreciate your showing how to monitor the bankroll and move down to weather the dry spells. Guess that's better than changing machines? Wow, awesome vlog of your get-together with Andrew and the local players at Pechanga!
Thank you for your kind review of my video. Pechanga is a video poker player’s casino, and Pala, nearby, is as well. You’ll be spoiled from your visit and will find it difficult to re-acclimate to your own hometown casino afterwards. Pechanga is rated the #1 West Coast casino, and you’ll soon find out why. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me once you’re in town!😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great video as always John - love the positivity and education. You, Andrew, Big Cats and the rest of the "crew" really give us Video Poker players such amazing content. Thanks!
The key to 8/5 Bonus Poker is to realize and embrace the fact the 2 pair hand is constantly replenishing the player’s bankroll due to its hit frequency. You’ll notice on the more volatile games (9/6 DDB, 9/6 TDB, 8/6 BPD, et al.) that the bankroll diminishes quite rapidly due to the, 2 pair & JoB hands, only paying even money. So when you’re on a run in 8/5 BP (and the 2 pair hands are running hot) you’re gaining ground, not losing ground. Over a long session, those 2 pair hands add up to quite a lot of money and accumulate or even exceed a 4 Aces payout. That translates to extra longevity of the bankroll, which means more 1, 2, 3, & 4 to the Royal draws coming through the session and some of those combinations will convert to big wins. The devilish thing about the DDB & TDB pay table is that the players are “blinded” by the Aces w/kicker hand payouts (which are rare) so the players don’t “see” that their bankroll is being quickly consumed by a lack of replenishment because the 2 pair hand doesn’t “pay”. There are no “thrill” payouts in Bonus Poker. The thrill in Bonus Poker comes from the knowledge that the 2 pair hand replenishes the bankroll “long enough” for the player to score those Royals. When you couple near perfect play with 8/5 Bonus Poker, an adequate bankroll, and high denomination coins, fortunes can be made. There are no guarantees, of course, but I’m working on hitting Royal Flush #39 on high denomination coin. Thank you for your comment, Billy.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great day at Pechanga John!!! Hope to see you up there this week for some freeplay!! Thank you for sharing both freeplay areas.. I thought only the kiosk has the option… Love&light from California 💖💖 p.s. Love those Quads 💖💖💖💖
I’m working on producing more content for the rest of this month to hit my goal of 6-8 videos this month. So I am getting busier. I’m sure we can meet and play at Pechanga probably in September, no problem.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Nice arrangement John, once again a successful free play conversion! Nice to see everyone getting together at the end! Thank you for your content! Best of luck to you, and God bless! ♠️♣️♦️❤️
Most definitely! My preferred play times are largely comprised “off peak hours”. Although sometimes, in the later part of the evening on a Saturday night, the energy level in the casino is high and adds an element of excitement that occasionally rounds out the video poker experience.😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great video John. It looks like someone else wants to meet up with you at Pechanga. Do you feel comfortable giving out your itinerary for the month of September? I was thinking it would probably be easier if you give us a date you will be at Pechanga and the people that want to meet you could make plans for that date. I, personally am going to be there September 18 for the Chicago concert and probably a couple days after if I don't have to work.
So far, my itinerary is based on what other players are up to. You can email me your itinerary at johnsworldofvideopoker and I’ll fit it into my schedule. You’re the 2nd person that I have on my calendar who’s going to the Chicago concert. I would have no problem meeting you at Pechanga if we coordinate a schedule around what you are doing.😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Thank you John for the fantastic insight. I’ve been receiving some pretty good free play offers lately, but I tend to go all in starting off playing $1 vp and end up with nothing. I will take your knowledge and start slow and steady and build up to the $1 and maybe even $2 level. Thanks again!!
I’m sure you’ll do great. Practice on a simulator that “warns on mistakes, play low volatility games, like 9/6 JoB, or 8/5 BP, and use a 1,000 coin bankroll to help you “weather” the the volatility. You CAN do it. Please keep me updated when you hit your Royals!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
You’re absolutely correct! And that was silly of me to miss that because I actually know that is the correct hold. Had that J♦️ been a J♠️ or a J♣️, then the K♥️10♥️9♥️ would have “stood out” more strikingly in contrast due to the J being black rather than red. I have found on occasion that when there’s “too much red” or “too much black” (and I’m playing too quickly) that I miss hands that way! You’re so right on that call. It’s a 1/2 of 1% error, but still, the K♥️10♥️9♥️ is clearly the correct hold. Thank you for pointing that out and I appreciate your doing that!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
I was wondering how you were getting along out there. I hit a royal 3 days ago, some aces and lots of quads but the machines seems to be less friendly in the last 4 months. But, tomorrow is another day. Did you stay at Pechanga after the meet and greet? I don't know how far that place is to you if you were to leave with the $300 but I know how I am....lol Either spend my daily allotment going bust or get something great. Good luck!!! Love the video. Hello Slotmassacre!!
Great job hitting the Royal, Janis! I’m on pace to release another 3-4 videos by month end. To answer your question, I do get full RFB at Pechanga & occasionally stay there from time to time, but since it’s only 8 mikes away from where I live, it’s just as easy to go home. Pala is only 15 minutes away from Pechanga and is an excellent video poker venue to go to also. Anytime I hang with folks at the casinos, we generally bounce back & forth between Pala & Pechanga. They are both fun casinos with great video poker offerings. I’m completely at home in either casino. They’re great. It’s so fun to meet subscribers and play video poker with them. We have a blast. And with, Slotmassacre, in the mix, it’s off the charts fun. I’m living the dream with this set up. I’ll tell, Andrew, you said Hi! Take care!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
We’re scheduled to participate in the G2E event on October 10, 11, & 12, but we don’t have any specifics on that as of yet. Hopefully, I can make it out there for that as long as other commitments don’t prevent me from doing so. I am available for a meet and greet if that would be of interest to you.🌎
Whoops, Sorry about that! I should have added an exterior shot of Pala to establish a location for Bar Meets Grill. We bounce back & forth between, Pechanga & Pala, so much that we often feel they’re just extensions of each other.😂🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker Ok. I got it now! I used to go to Pala a lot too, and their VP was outstanding, but when they expanded they got really tight. So, wasn't worth the scary drive.
The video poker offerings and their great pay tables at Pala from $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, & $25 coin, are the best to be found anywhere in Southern California. And in some cases, beat the best of Vegas! Check the high limit and the bar tops, Sherrill. They’re awesome!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
I practice on the WinPoker app and the JT of diamonds holding instead of the JK is said to be the correct play. It's only a tenth (or so) of a percent difference but am wondering if my app is wrong? Really enjoy your videos!
I checked it on the WinPoker app, as well as, checking it on a different app, and it shows that the J♦️K♠️ is the correct hold. The error difference between the 2 holds is very small 7/10’s of 1%. Check and make sure that you’re on the 8/5 BP game when analyzing the hand. Sometimes I forget that my WinPoker app is on another game & I’m analyzing a hand on the wrong game. Nonetheless, the difference between the 2 hands is minuscule. Plus, if the “right” cards don’t come out on the redraw to complete the hand, it’s a moor point regardless. Thank you for your comments and viewership!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
John it happened again. Playing a progressive Double Double Bonus machine .25 denomination. Dealt KQJ spades and 2 other Jacks. I throw the 2 Jacks and keep the Royal Flush draw and hit for $1597.41
Wow! That’s an incredible hit off of an incredibly incorrect hold (73% Advantage forfeited to the casino) but it sure worked out for you! You don’t see suited KQJ dealt out very often, and I’m sure I would have taken that shot too. Tossing the 3 Jacks away (in favor of a 1 in 1,081 shot at the Royal) was a ballsy move on your part. I’m glad it worked out so well for you. Congratulations!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker This has worked 2 out of the 3 times I've done it. I don't question success but I want to see if a pattern develops. The game inside the game. High risk/ high reward? I'll let you know.
We have to be careful with seeing “patterns” because there are none, due to the fact that’s there’s nothing but randomness going on. There’s approximately 2.6M possible hands. 1.4M favor the house and 1.2M favors the player. Because the cards are constantly being shuffled and come out randomly there’s no “detectable” pattern. The pay table probabilities tells us when “on average” something “should hit” but randomness rules the day, thank goodness, or we’d have to wait “on average” 43,000 hands for a Royal Flush to hit. But video poker is way better than that because “due to randomness” anything can happen, such as 3 Royals in a night, or 4 Aces hitting every 15 minutes all day long, or every Quad just happens to be 2,3,4’s & Aces. Those aren’t repeatable patterns, that’s randomness. Randomness can be totally bad (nothing but crap hands) or it can be totally good (nothing but Quads all night long and Royals) or it can be ho-hum. Your best bet is constant practice on a simulator and good bankroll management plus some “randomly good luck”. There are no patterns. Just focus on near perfect strategy and you’ll see a few miracles along the way.🌎
Yes always bet 5 coins!here in reno have found some machines max bet is 10 credits and a royal would only pay 1,500 credits!shame on them!if I revived 1,500 credits for a royal I would be steaming!thanks for the videos and good luck!
Yes, it tough out there across the country with casinos screwing their own customers with horrendously bad pay tables. It makes no sense to play bad machines since it “rewards” casinos for mistreating their customers. I refuse to play bad pay tables. I’d rather practice on a simulator, save-up a decent bankroll, and visit Vegas once a quarter and play at a Vegas local’s casinos (Red Rock, South Point, Palace Station, etc.) where great pay tables abound. I feel bad for my fellow video poker players being tortured by bad pay tables across the nation.🥺🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker I agree with you belive the casinos know most people are to lazy to track down the best pay tables. The bad machines I noticed are at bars and near sports books.I kinda feel sorry for the bartenders etc that depend on tips as the place was busy and the small bad bank of machines were empty.Good video poker players are smart, guess unfortunately it’s just a few of us.
Where are some of the best places in Reno to play, Bill? On this side of the state line in the Sac area, the paytables are getting worse and worse. Or they aren't improving if they already suck. I think it's time to head that way and just play less often than play here a couple times a week.
@@JBlinky67 yes I agree the Indian casinos are not good far as pay tables go some are good if you play over dollar denom.I don’t go to downtown Reno can’t comment on that. Can’t go wrong with both peppermill and Atlantis there also only 5 min apart.Comps are good at both.grand sierra is ok mostly for the young crowd but I used to find some 9/6 J/b.I seen you in the chat I love talking video poker. ,
If you could sometime during one of your videos could you talk about Gaps heard it’s very important to know and I need to get better with that nobody in the video poker world talks much about this.

There may be some exceptions and I need to look into that closely. But for the most part in 8/5 Bonus Poker, you’d be correct doing what you just said.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
If I’m understanding you correctly, it sounds like you’re saying that Vegas is not the place to play right now because it sounds like the Royals are drying-up, is that right? By the way, which game do you play?

Thank you, Mark. One of these days, I will “muscle-in” on Mr. C’s turf in Chicago. When I do, I’ll let you know, so that all 3 of us can meet and play video poker together!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great video!thanks for posting did not know andrew came before yourself.
@@johnsworldofvideopoker Looking forward to meeting you and your wife, if she has time!
Sure thing! We can all meet that Friday afternoon at Pechanga. We’ll see you soon.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker Will send travel updates via Patreon and text. I will be driving down on Sat, Sep 3. Hope that's still okay...
Ce n'est pas un problème. That’s not a problem. We’ll make it for Saturday. See you soon!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Another great video poker lesson, John. Your tutorials are UNMATCHED!
Thank you, Tony’🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great video as always John - love the positivity and education. You, Andrew, Big Cats and the rest of the "crew" really give us Video Poker players such amazing content. Thanks!
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoy the videos. And I appreciate your comments and viewership!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
John - You’re a gentleman & a scholar as always. One of these days I will get out to “Pechanga,” and play some VP with you!
Sure thing. That would be great 🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
you have convinced that bonus is better than double poker in the long run,,,thank you sir
Was missing you!
Thank you, David. I’m working on putting out at least 3 to 4 more videos this month. Thank you for your loyal viewership!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great day at Pechanga John!!! Hope to see you up there this week for some freeplay!! Thank you for sharing both freeplay areas.. I thought only the kiosk has the option… Love&light from California 💖💖 p.s. Love those Quads 💖💖💖💖
Thank you, Sheri. I will be there to collect my free play, on that you can be sure. See you then.🌎
More content John. Would love to play with you someday either in Vegas or SoCal. I’m about an hour away from Pechanga.
I’m working on producing more content for the rest of this month to hit my goal of 6-8 videos this month. So I am getting busier. I’m sure we can meet and play at Pechanga probably in September, no problem.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Another great video John!
Thank you, Cody!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Nice arrangement John, once again a successful free play conversion! Nice to see everyone getting together at the end! Thank you for your content! Best of luck to you, and God bless! ♠️♣️♦️❤️
Thank you. Even though it occurred during the week, it felt like a “great weekend”!😂🙌🏻🙌🏻😂
@@johnsworldofvideopoker That's my favorite time to play/dine, less crowded.
I was playing next to Mr. C at Pala before your meet up. So great to see everyone.
Yes, He mentioned that to me, that he was “recognized” in the casino!🤣🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker that was me !
Oh, I’m sure it was and I’m glad to know it was you!😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Great video and commentary.
Thank you, Rina.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Big John needs to wrire a book. The title should be The Zenmaster's Guide to Bonus Poker. I want the first signed copy😁😉👍
Thank you for saying so. It is definitely a project that is on the drawing board for sure.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
24:15 KT9 hearts.
This is my favorite so far! Great video! Are you two going to be in Vegas in October?
We’re scheduled to participate in the G2E event on October 10, 11, & 12, but we don’t have any specifics on that as of yet. Hopefully, I can make it out there for that as long as other commitments don’t prevent me from doing so. I am available for a meet and greet if that would be of interest to you.🌎
I have been going to Pechanga since it was in trailers and I have no idea where the Bar Meets Grill is. Where?
Just focus on near perfect strategy and you’ll see a few miracles along the way.🌎
Keep mentioning which game you're on ( jackss,Jackson, bonus) that's important to casual player like me like your presentation.
Thank you, Rick!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Mostly gaps when playing Bonus poker my favorite game as well.I only hold straights with no gaps this might be correct not 100 percent sure.
I’ll put some thought on that. That sounds like a good idea for my Patreon page which I’m revamping in order to make it more accessible for those who follow my channel. It will sort of be like a John’s World of Video Poker “inner circle” club. I’ll work on that. Thank you!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
There may be some exceptions and I need to look into that closely. But for the most part in 8/5 Bonus Poker, you’d be correct doing what you just said.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
My advice to you ..do not play in Vegas .from 10 /12 royal a year down to 1 .....at same playing time. Do I need to spell what's happens???
If I’m understanding you correctly, it sounds like you’re saying that Vegas is not the place to play right now because it sounds like the Royals are drying-up, is that right? By the way, which game do you play?
