I so look forward to this butterfly release video. You do such an amazing job with fostering Monarch butterflies. I planted Meteor Showers verbena this year (zone 8a) based on watching your video last year hoping to attract Monarchs but my Meteor Showers plants look nothing like yours. Yours are full and filled with flowers. Thank you, Heidi, for sharing your knowledge and experience with all things gardening.

We made Garden Crossings a stop on our vacation this summer but did not realize you were closed for pruning and trimming during the week of the 4th. Pulling in the drive I was excited to see the signature garden and all the beautiful plants displayed. While we were there the workers were releasing a few of the butterflies and I was thrilled when they so graciously offered to let us see the butterfly room. She was so patient and friendly and although I wouldn’t be bringing any flowers home I was super happy to have a picture of the Butterfly room. I was just wondering what got you interested in the preservation of the Monarch butterflies.

Thank you for stopping by. Sorry we were closed for the holiday. One of our team members had a passion so we decided to build the butterfly house.

So very beautiful, sadly although my garden is FULL of pollinator plants I have yet to see a single one this year. Very few bees or any insects. It worries me so much as my garden used to be brimming with life and now it's slugs and japanese beetles :(

I'm experiencing the same situation in my garden also. I have not had monarch caterpillars since the Spring of (2022) I garden in zone 8a or 8b depending upon how severe our winter temperatures are. I'm just starting to see butterflies in the garden feeding on nectar plants this week. I've been battling the Japanese Beetles. I've seen a lot of the bumblebees and other native pollinators and a few hummingbirds but only a few swallowtails, painted ladys, sulfars , No monarchs yet. My butterfly weed plants have bloomed and formed seed pods.

@@gardencrossings I wonder if it is because I am in a suburban wasteland where people pave over their front lawns and brick entire backyards to have a "Clean" yard no grass to mow. I did get them up until a few years ago even in this suburban location. Planning to move to country so I hope things will improve and see more pollinators.

@@tammiedunbar6166 I do have hummingbirds, they are so beautiful and lots of Robins eating the berries off my Serviceberry Trees and Pagoda dogwood trees. Those beetles are a pain aren't they?
