Yes, for sure. I’m currently starting my journey into the language in self studies. I can not wait to learn more! As always thank you for sharing your experiences with us😊
But I think I’d rather do a whole full-on 6-month immersion course, designed for people who’d like to eventually teach English or French or Spanish in Japan, than to do a 3-week taste-of-Japan kind of thing … I’m not, like, “damn the costs, full speed ahead,” but as pricey as 6 months or 1 year might be, it’d likely be as good or better a value than (hypothetically) six or seven separate 3-week trips, especially once you factor in airfare. BUT if I had all the money and the time in the world, of course I’d do both. “Cool Japan” or “Rural Japan” or “Cherry Blossom Japan” all looked right up my alley! So thanks for the upload, I’ll check out their website. [And I think you work more in the leisure travel market, but if the opportunity ever arose for you to record video at a full-blown years-long immersion school, I’d also watch that upload for sure!!]
As a 36 year old Scotsman who has been studying Katakana and Hiragana on his own in the hope of visiting Japan by 40 and to able to get around I love videos like this !
I advise you to subscribe to Game Gengo channels one stop shop for learning Japanese no reason why you couldn't be fluent by then provided you study for about 1 hour a day.
Fellow Scot here ;) I’ve been learning Japanese for just over a year now, and I’m saving up to go next year. I want to be able to converse in Japanese and read (some of) the street signs. Good luck! がんばってください!
What a busy, yet awesome day that you had Sarah. I'd love to go to the language school but compared to the other students, I would look like a granny. The food looked amazing 😍🤩 . Thank you so much for another awesome video xxx
nice to see the class room setting and the tea ceremony as well as the manga shop as well as hanging out with friends! didn't know you could go to japan as a student to learn while being on vacation that is good information to know for any trips I may or may not take to japan
I've loved that you made a video with you speaking more japanese! I've seen other vloggers do 'Japanese only' challenge for a video. I would love to see that from you. I also think its great that you showed the whole day, not just the language school, but also stopping by for manga and going to a cafe etc... Love it!
3D neko was awesome! I remember my first Japanese course class and how exciting it was to concentrate on listening Japanese speaking and I actually started it with a lot of younger group.. but it went well. Idea to travel to Japan and train language at the same time sounds good. And If I understood correctly, the language company will also help you with reservation of hotels.
I’m from Sydney too. I bought all Spy Family Manga at Kinokuniya. It was ridiculously expensive even with the members discount. You’re very fortunate to be able to buy for less than half the price
@@TomTheSemmelI haven’t read light novels for a very long time. That’s quite nostalgic. I prefer physical editions. Like セーラさん I like to read in cafes too. Thank you for the suggestion anyway I’ll keep it in mind in case I change my mind.
@@TomTheSemmel - May I ask what a “light novel” is? Is it just what it sounds like, a novel which is, uh, kinda fluffy in content? Or is “light novel” a term of art, something particular to Japan? Sorry if.I sound dense, light novel is probably just a self-evident descriptive term … but you never know, it could be some wild thing made of tissue paper and worn as a cape which others read as you ride the metro through Tokyo, you really never know.
This video is great. I took a year of Japanese when I was in college here in America. I never mastered it. I do believe that living in Japan and practicing it there while living life is the key.
That because learning Japanese in schools especially American schools is the worse way because the total time spent is peanuts compared to what you need to.
I’m currently learning Japanese although I’m not great at it I will keep practicing and one day will go to Japan to practice speaking to people in person 🤞
I've really been enjoying your content, Sarah. You're awesome! Also, I was able to go on study trips to China and Germany, I highly recommend them, I would love to go to Japan
If I was young and wealthy and had free time, instead just being tourist in Japan, I'd probably want to get Visa to take semesters for language school in Japan. 😅 But unfortunately at max I can do 2 week vacation from working.
See, I've considered doing a study trip to go to Japan for several weeks...but I'm a bit afraid of what might've happened with my attention span over the years, though: it's been nearly 20 years since I stepped foot in a classroom (the last of my college days was in the spring of 2004). Also, I'm not yet too confident speaking Japanese (though I know some basics...but I believe my lack of confidence to be rooted in simple lack of repetition). And I'm right there with you on your choice of crepes...basic or bust. Looks like you had a wonderful day overall...thanks for sharing it with us :) .
You may be interested to know that, over the decades, the trend in teaching has been to dole out information in smaller, bite-sized pieces, with lots of breaks in between info nuggets … and this trend is based not on “shortening attention spans,” which could well be a perennial myth (critics in the 1930s complained that radio was reducing human attention spans!), but is rather based on insights gleaned over the decades into how our species best learns: it turns out we pick up info best in short, intense bursts, so some corporate training sessions are now broken up into - no joke - 8-minute teaching segments, 7-minute Q&A segments, and 7-minute breaks, with longer 15-minute breaks every hour, and quite long lunches! Many schools are following suit, so even if you feel your attention span has “shortened” since 2004, you’ll likely find today’s trends in pedagogy accommodate you well. If you’re thinking about a study trip, I’d advise you to jump right in: none of us are getting any younger, so there’s no time like the present!
This is so cool! This is really worth checking out!! All of your videos are so entertaining and educational! This reflects a lot of thought on your part to pick a theme, develop a script, film your video, and edit it. Great, great job!!
The fact that it was 4pm and DARK outside is crazy to me 😅 here it gets dark at the earliest around 6-630? Also when I was in Japan earlier this year I bought A LOT of manga to help learn Japanese and it's been helping so much! Manga here is like $25-$30 I miss those prices! 😭 Much love from Arizona 💜💜
seeing video game manga reminded me of the book orders. a catalog of books, small toys and such we'd receive as students in the USA. We would ask our parents for the proper funds of course lol. i got a few pokemon stuff i believe
ありがとう凄くわかりやすい紹介ですね。I used to teach Japanese in China about 20 years ago, and also have been to some of Japanese language schools in Japan. I mean just for looking. Used to study in the US. ありがとうございました。

Yes, I'd really love to but I'm in no position to.

I love how this language school also organises so much for their students, like activities. And even pick-up from the airport!
very fun, I can't wait to come visit ..... BYEEEE!!!!!
This makes me want to go back to school but also makes me feel super old 😅🧓
This kind of "practical" video is up my alley.
#800 you bet coming out there next year. Love your insights, tips and collabs. ❤👍
Can’t believe you only have less than 100k followers. Good videos always!
Thanks for the support! 100k is the goal in 2024 :D
Your friends look cool, have the same friends here in Orange County California Garden Grove.... Little Saigon... love the content... very fun!!!
Finally in Japan, I was just in Shinjuku yesterday 😃

I think if anything, you have to be studying outside of class too. Else, it is not worth it
@@ashishadhikari8434 Its a function of total time and the form of what you are studying which should always be at least 30%-50% comprehensible.

Don't worry the Japanese in that class is the most basic level so everyone is in the same boat the bottom.
What a great video. I've been in that arcade a couple of times but always too shy to sumimasen for assistance haha.

Go to a Band-Maid concert the best Japanese rock band in the world. They celebrated their 10th anniversary together.
LOOOOOVE Band-Maid! I had the opportunity to meet them twice in my home country(the US!) and they were so friendly and kind! Fantastic music, too!

I would love to study in Japan. My wife and I just bought Rosetta Stone. We are super stoked to visit in Fall 2025.

My favorite Japanese curry place in NYC is called Go Go Curry, I guess Go Go is a popular name (?) in Japan? Is it always "55" or does it have other meanings?
Go Go curry means 55 because Hideki Matsui Japanese baseball player's uniform number is 55.
Both are from Ishikawa prefecture.
