Technically, it's *veneration* of saints, not worship. They're held up as good examples, people meditate on their lives and miracles while they pray, and the saints are asked to pray for the faithful in their areas of devotion, but they're not worshipped in their own right. It's a subtle but important distinction!
I've got the same questions. Wondering if people reported it based on the religious content. Doesn't take much these days for folks to get their panties in a twist.
It might be all the references to torture. Not advertiser friendly. UA-cam is a massive joke now. Its all stolen videos and AI and Bot made content. Its a total joke. I cant wait for something else to rise up.
@@terriwetz6077o offense but I feel like you yourself might be engaging in a bit of a preemptive panties twist here. This channel is hardly religion focused and plenty that are do fine, it’s more likely UA-cam shadowbanning it because of the grim nature of some of the topics talked about, above all else youtube is highly sensitive of copyright, sexual content, and violent content
I always get super excited when you have a new video!!!! This is one of my top favorite channels of all time, thank you!!!!!!!! Saints are especially interesting to me, especially the ways in which they have become something like deities in religious history. thank you as always for your awesome and amazing videos
Honoring of the saints and their ceremonies reminds me a lot of pagan ceremonies. You can see why some Christians would have mixed feelings about this and many eventually turned against it.
As a Christian I agree, I never understand the praying to saints and all the ritual stuff to them. We suppose to worship Christ alone and he is the mediator. There no need for the Saint to pray on our behalf.
The historical meaning of cult is different from the modern one. In this context, it just means a group of people focused on a particular aspect of worship or veneration. One could have multiple cults within the same religion or sect of a religion. In a pagan context, a person could be broadly considered to be a Greek Pagan (or Roman, Norse, etc.) but more specifically be a part of the Cult of Artemis if her worship is particularly relevant to you. In this historical context, use of the term cult is appropriate.

Nobody worshipped saints. In the Catholic church saints are held up as examples and rallying points for the faithful. Saints didn't have cults around them the cult was the religion proper. Grow up.
Hey great work on the videos. However, one correction I'd like to make. They didn't worship the saints, they venerated them. There is a distinction and it's very important.
My grandmother was from the Berry region of France (Indre).Solange was the patron saint of the region and many children from that region were named for saint Solange, including some of my ancestors as well. It shows how much influence the saints have on certain regions, even long after the Middle Ages were over. Thank you for sharing.

Your coverage of the Middle Ages is always top notch. Another great video looking back to a different time in the world.
Did this channel accidently get shadow banned?

So Beyoncé’s sister was named after a beheaded saint that carried her own head to a church and died? Got it. 😭
It’s Friday night, I’m folding laundry, Medieval Madness must be on!

This is the perfect episode I love to learn about the lives of saints it's so fascinating
Great video thank you!
You forgot Saint Guinefort . Thomas of Hookton carried a dog's paw around his neck to venerate him.
+10 points if you know what I'm talking about.
That three day old was busy!

@@Ardisfication23 It does not matter. Nobody is listening.
@beaverofthepola2071 that's your opinion, it has no bearing on me.
Dang, saints often die violently at the hands of their enemies, but then it's their fandom who rip up the body and fight over the bones.
I hear there's even a patron saint of the internet! 😁
As Buffy the Vampire Slayer once said "Note to self: Religion - freaky"
Why say "cult?" How about "following?"

We don’t worship saints; show reverence and asking their prayers are different then worship which is due to God alone.
As a Catholic, I can confirm this.
But why ask for their prayer when we should just pray directly to Jesus himself?
It’s really semantics. You’re praying to a mortal, not God. I’d consider that worshipping, but I know the Church considers it different
@legitcommunism4612 I agree with you it's worship if you pray to anyone other than Jesus.

Yeah talk about something that got cultist . And many pulling roots from paganism.
"Worship of the saints was a central belief of the medieval church"
Catholics: *sigh*
Exactly what happened.
Yea people need to understand there is a difference between veneration and worship.
This is weird, why is the view count so low after 17 minutes and no other comments?
It's not that boring a title

Lots of the saints are just as fictional as the apostrophise and the magical j zombie!
My personal favorite episode.
But I'm you know, weird.
Doesn't it say somewhere In the Bible that ur NOT suppose to worship saints or even the Mother of Jesus...ONLY Jesus!....wtf is wrong with ppl?

Hi MM! Have any of your team played Kingdom Deliverance? Been enjoying the immersion of it so far!
Ah yes Catholic Saints, proof God was with the Catholic Church good😁
Another amazing episode, please don't stop
Hooosh! I hope I never encounter "the odor of sanctity" or a sermonizing infant.
Love your content. Been a long time fan
It sucks that I haven't been getting notifications 😢 just now seeing this.
