@@54oddrodit really is frustrating and I am pretty sure most independent artists never get much or any radio exposure. Is it because they don’t have a label? Like do stations have contracts or regulations to work with labels only or something… like NF, FIR, Tom McD, etc get massive attention and hits on social media but radio silence
Dude, we can't prepare you for Ren. Like, if you're want your mind blown again, check out "Back on '74/Message in Bottle" retake. There is nothing he can't do musically.
The cinematography and the manipulation of sound the acting it's one of his masterpieces not to spoil anything but during *that* part of the video I had an absolute visceral reaction there are people in Hollywood that can't make me feel what he did
99% of ten videos are 1 take. Half time show is amazing. Try notice the count down on the traffic lights and the bus going passed. It’s like the world is just working for him
Ren is an independent artist but at one point he was signed by Sony. Freckled Angels was largely that early collection of his work. He became so ill that he told them that he was just physically not capable of fulfilling his contractual obligations. And so he was let go, BUT at one point he was so sick that he didn’t think that he would to be thirty, or even another year. They released his music back to him and it became Freckled Angel ( a tribute to his best friend Joe Hughes who took his l!fe). There are many singles out there as well as collaborations which he did as an independent artist. He was also a part of the band The Big Push: 4 flatmates and best friends who are all equally talented, multi instrumentalists, singers, songwriters and absolutely mind 🤯good. They disbanded after a UK tour and a farewell concert before Ren set off for Calgary to receive medical treatment for the ongoing physical, neurological, and mental side effects of having un/ misdiagnosed Lyme disease for so many years. Before he left he released Hi Ren, and in the months that followed he released singles from the album that he was working on and set to drop in October 2023. He was still in Calgary receiving treatment and his team ( comprised mostly, if not entirely, of friends and fellow artists) often visited to help with PR( since he had no management and wasn’t able to tour, do press junkets etc). The week that it was released the fans - Renegades as we are known - hyped it up in every chat group on every platform, bought multiple copies to donate to those who couldn’t afford to buy it ( even though Ren priced it at ~ 5-6 $/£). He went of social media and into the wilderness with his team to listen to the charts that Friday… AND IT WAS AT #1 ON THE UK CHARTS. NOT JUST THE HIP HOP CHART, ALL OF THEM.
I only found him like 2 months ago and i just fell in love with him. His words hit home with everyone in some form or another especially when it’s mental health issues and domestic abuse. He’s been through a rough time but he’s doing amazing now and it’s so good to see. He seems so grounded too. Thank you for that information, I knew a little about him but I know a lot more now. I was undiagnosed with fibromyalgia for years and I ended up having a mental breakdown in 2018. I never want to go through that again and the feelings I had back then were terrifying
REN is my favourite current artist. For fun listen to ‘Losing It’. His other one take masterpieces are Money Game (1-3) Jenny, Screech & Violet. Check them out but beware to have your mind blown! Cheers!
“He made this and Hi Ren, how is that possible” Dude hasn’t even scratched the surface….Tale of Jenny and Screech, Money Game part 3, Chalk Outlines, Ren can do it all! I look forward to seeing your reactions 😊
The funniest thing is he told you that the song was going to be like. "Blind I design rhymes intertwined, double-time, genuine Frankenstein. I made a monster." Great reaction. If you like hip hop, check out his Nas retake on "Halftime". .
This is Ren just flexing his rap chops. Multi-syllabic, multiple flows, multiple internal rhyme schemes and he made the beat boxing and beats under it. Just pure flex, and I love it.
You need to check out Murderer, its fire! Also, him with his band The Big Push performing live in the streets I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop, that version when he's wearing red suspenders will blow your mind!
YES. PLEASE. More Ren. He also SINGS. You should hear his singing in his band the Big Push. The mashup song "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" with his band The Big Push is MAGIC that will make your soul smile.
Ren is multi-genre, multi-instrumentalist, produces his own beats, songwriter, vocalist (Bardcore, Reggae, Rap, R&B, Hip-Hop, BeatBox, etc), directs his own videos. He has multiple albums out. So the reason you haven't heard of him, he was gravely ill between the age of 19 till the age of 25, often bed ridden with Lyme Disease. He was initially mis-diagnosed and spent years receiving the wrong medications and treatments for illnesses he did not have. It's only recently that via a stem cell treatment, he was able to move to Canada and get further treatments to undo all the damage to his body and his brain. He still suffers from Lyme Disease, but has recovered enough to dive back into his music, which are the tracks you have currently seen. Ren has a massive catalog, his own songs, collabs with Chinchilla, Sam Thompkins, Orlean, Bibi, Eden Nash, Prof, etc. Then there is his Busking band "The Big Push" which is an amazing band, they do covers and mash-ups(I recommend you check all of the aforementioned out)....If you so choose to go down the Ren Rabbit Hole, strap in and get ready to experience the most relevant artist of this generation. I've not seen an artist with this much talent since Prince. Enjoy my Friend.
And by the way, he has two albums out, both unpromoted. But the latest, Sick Boi, with no promotion outside UA-cam and no label and no airplay and no touring, came in at number 1 in the UK somehow. Ren has just done his first live performance in years at the Secret Garden Party music festival near Abbots Ripton, England.
No two Ren songs sound the same. He is known for changing his flows and cadences many times in a track. Every song has many layers and lots of Easter Eggs. He was a producer before he was a rapper or singer. His production is always top tier. He makes most of his beats but in his 19 track Sick Boi hip hop album, there are 5 tracks that he didn't make the beat on although he did mix and master them.
Remember “Losing it” one if my favorite rap tracks from Ren, is a Fischer retake! The beat is from another artist, Ren remakes all the Lyrics and remixes the beats order!!!
yes, he also beatboxes, produces his own beats, plays piano, melodica, trombone (?) and whatever he sets his mind to. Sick Boi, his latest album, made it to #1 in the UK, And he was number 30 artist in the US billboard chart for that release. When Hi Ren came out, he had just over 300 000 followers
We know things you don't know yet - muahahaha!! Keep reacting to Ren. It's worth it. He has multiple albums. His last one is called "Sick Boi", go check it out. No one is hiding him from you, he's just not signed to a big label and management. He's doing everything on his own with help from friends. Basically we as his fanbase and reactors like you are his biggest and most important promoters for his music. So please keep on reacting and spreading his music. He deserves it.
Ren has multiple albums out. His last album 'Sick Boi' hit #1 album in UK. A previous album 'Freckled Angels' is full of masterpeices and gems all the same. He also has 'demo tapes' which are considered samples but fully developed hits in their own right. Beyond that, he has collabed with some other amazing artists you will discover along the way, busks in the streets, and played in a band called 'The Big Push' which are all amazing artists in their own lane. You are so early in your discovery of what this man can achieve.
As expected, it was a lot of fun watching you watching that. I think you'll soon be a fan favourite reactor to our Boi. Everything from Ren early stuff with Trick the Fox, his busking with the Big Push, his haunting duets with Chinchilla or Eden Nash, or his works with Sam Tompkins, an up and coming British singer that Ren discovered busking, and befriended when he was very young, and has mentored has just released his first album in the UK after being signed by a label. His old works, his new works, there all fecking incredible! Its almost impossible to choose a bad song, but im waiting on whatever it is you go with next. Waiting. Ps. Thanks for the addition on the t-shirt. You still look hot 🔥
Yep, Ren made the beat, as he usually does. The beatboxing and background vocalisations were all him too. I wrote a long intro to Ren, under your Hi Ren reaction. I think I covered all the basics, so I can only refer you my post there, if you want any info. :) I'm definitely not writing it all again, lol. It may be worth a quick read though, as I think it will give you a good understanding of the man and his music and why his fans are so dedicated to him! :)
I'm 73 grew up with The Beatles and Motown and all that great 60's music. Ren is taking us back to that energy and musicianship with his own twist. Believe me he will be massive when enough people get to hear him.
I’m 67 and I’m absolutely obsessed with REN. He is incredibly talented and the fact he’s been through so much really connects. I never get tired of the reaction videos too. It’s so cool watching others totally fall in love with his music is so satisfying.
I think Ren is pretty based and is obviously intelligent, he also obviously loves what he is doing. So I hope that burn out will not happen, and he has so many years to catch up on.
Not only is his music top tier, so is his spirit and heart! There's no other artist like him in my opinion. He's the same from his music, to live streams, to interviews.... if you wanna know WHO he is, I recommend his 1 million subscriber speech! It changed the way I hear his music. Keep having fun, he's my #1.
That is, in fact, him doing that. He does it all. Not that he never works with other artists -- he certainly does. But everything you hear in this one is him. His production people -- directors, cameras, etc. are killer, as well but often -- you guessed it -- he does it all himself. Mixes his own sound, makes his own beats, etc. "Please, more Ren!" Luckily for you there is a shit-ton of more Ren (and Trick the Fox and The Big Push, and duets/bands with the best of the best like Chinchilla and Eden Nash and Sam Tomkins), and ALL of it is magnificent. I already see suggestions below, so go for it! Thanks for a great reaction and I have subscribed.
Great reaction again... its funny watching you too, cos we know that you have only just begun discovering the world of Ren. The journey has just begun and your mind is going to be further blown as you go down the rabbit hole. Enjoy every moment
"Back on 74/Message in a Bottle Retake" for all of his skills packaged into one awesome video. Ya boy is smooth with it. You literally never know what you’re gonna get from him when watching a video for the first time. It’s insane.
Ren rejoined the public music scene at 27. He is 34 now. He still had enough symptoms that busking was his performance of choice because he could work around his illness. The Big Push did some touring, but interrupted by Covid. Because he is independent, he doesn't get radio play and uses You Tube, and online platforms. He does have CDs and vinyl sales on his site and I own all his albums on Bandcamp as well as the physical tracks. He may never be able to do the big tours because of his health, but he will find a way to perform. I saw him in UK at the Secret Garden Party 2 weeks ago.
Two Ren requests please please please do the mash up of “ I shot the sheriff, road to Zion , hip hop” he’s street performance is incredible. Also his duet with Chinchilla in “Chalk outlines” it’s beautiful
The Hunger is wild and really shows off his speed and cadence... If you want more Ren raps you should check out Castles Made of Sand, Losing It, Murderer, Genesis, Illest of Our Time, Halftime
Im so proud the guy I used to watch busking on the streets of my home Brighton making it so far, and the fact he is still busking how can you not love him 😭♥
Yep… he did the beat box. Yep… he does his own beats Yep… excellent rapper and lyricist Yep… all that shit Yep… all other artist get pissed Yep… ur late Yep… you cant wait to see more Yep… we cant wait to watch you and others experience Ren the way we first did. Yep… I sub’d and liked.
😂😂😂wait until you hear him doing reggae, metal, and his collaborations with Chinchilla and Eden Nash, and other's. You have barely scratched the surface 😂.
Literally anything by Ren. Every now and again someone really special comes along and this man deserves all the play time in the world. And the most beautiful thing is that he brings other amazing artists along for the ride - people you may not otherwise discover. I'm getting old now but I have genuinely never seen someone so talented trying to take others along with him. I really wish this planet was populated with people with that mindset
You actually had me laughing out loud during this video. I was cracking up. Yes Ren is amazing. He is actually my favorite artist and you are in for a treat. His rabbit hole is a very deep one and it is thoroughly amazing. I can’t wait to watch you dive down this rabbit hole.
Love your excitement! Having so much fun watching you discover the genius that is Ren! It is his world, we just live in it, and get to watch and listen in amazement😊so many suggestions, but I would say”Power” and “Illest of our time”. Enjoy!❤
The tale of Jenny and screech and violets tale in that order is a 3 song story phenomenal must listen. Animal flow I know you’ll dig it hardcore. Chalk outlines with chinchilla is softer but very powerful and meaningful. As well as how to be me with again chinchilla. Her voice pairs so well with his.
I am loving your reactions! Your pure excitement is contagious. Ren has a huge diverse catalog and I’m excited to watch you react to it. What a wonderful journey down the rabbit hole you have ahead of you. Enjoy!! 😊🐇🕳️💜🖤💜
Ren is soooo skilled. Like you said in the video, he can really rap, at the same time he makes masterpieces like Hi Ren, and you haven't even really heard him _sing_ yet - Chalk Outlines (another live one take) is an AMAZING sample of what he can do with his voice.
Ok that’s it! I cannot handle waiting for more of your Ren reactions! Aside from REN’s posts they are my new daily dopamine shots. I cannot keep going without them. 😝Keep’em coming baby! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Ren is the master of changing the flow and the cadence and he produces and he wraps and he does everything plays guitar plays drums this is all his own stuff he is ren That’s all I got to say he’s also #bardcore you know it when you get there ❤️👍🏼
Lol watching someone’s mind get blown by Ren is fun every time. Highly highly highly recommend Ren-Fred Again next. It’ll give you some idea of his pristine singing and guitar skills.
You ask the same question we all contemplate... How is someone so talented not a world-wide household name. Ren stands alone, not bound by genre, not bound by contracts or labels... Just pure art. Here is a list of recommendations broke down into different categories: Rap: Genesis Fisher retake Mental Health: Dominoes Su!cIde Sick Boi Bardcore (Hardcore story telling) The Tales of Jenny & Screech (Full trilogy all at once) MoneyGame (3 parts - Part 2 use the lyric video) The Big Push (his band) War Pigs cover I Shot the Sherrif/Road to Zion Praise you Collabs: Ren & Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines & How to be Me Ren & Sam Tompkins - Blind Eyed & What went Wrong and soooooo many more... This is literally just the surface and it's a long way down the rabbit hole. You won't regret diving in!
Everything Ren does in his art is intentional. Note the double entendres, the deep, clever, meaningful lyrics. We call him the modern day Shakespeare 😉
Power, Down on the Beat, Losing It (FISHER Rap Version), and What You Want are all killer rap tracks by Ren. Two of these, Down on the Beat & What You Want feature Viktus, one of his collaborators, who also appears in several other Ren videos.
2 down, but over 200 more to go and NONE will disappoint and many will make you believe you have found yet another new genius artist as he is that versatile . I would list my favourite but seriously there are too many. Loving your reaction, the surprise element is what it is all about!!
Ren has an interview on 'The Zach Sang Show' where he explains the Pig Mask in his own words. It's also a great Interview to learn a little about his music and struggles, well worth a watch in your own time if something you would be interested in
Ren is really IT, he can do diferent generes, play diferent instruments, writes, produces and directs, he does beat box, you name it. He makes live vertions of his own songs… that are totally a different and awesome song On top of that he is actually a great human being, and does a lot to bring focus on mental health and cronic illnesses. All of this while being a fully independend artist, suffering from Lyme Trust me, he never stops surprising you while you go thru his catalog of music. …sorry for the long post ❤
Ren is the most versatile musician and artist in the WORLD! He can do EVERYTHING and every damn genre pretty much. Don't believe me just keep going down his over 220 song back catalogue 😅
Next….Losing It and Genesis
Yep
does everyone agree?
Losing it .. was the hook for me like his ballad stuff also with feats like “humble” “chalk outlines” “how to be me” it all grows on you

The tales of Jenny and Screech. I saw him 2 weeks ago and he was elite!

Ummmm Sam Tompkins -Blind Eye is up there with his Chinchilla songs
@@melissaandjosh6210*blind eyed
@@joshuawiedenbeck6944 good call on the wrong name
Hold up, when did he do metal? Cuz if he did imma have to listen to it on repeat for the next couple of days or so-
@@pandoamessi4079 He is probably referring to his cover of War Pigs by Black Sabbath. They are widely regarded as the founders of modern metal.
HI REN and THE HUNGER. Two videos made with budgets close to zero. Ren is a magician.
Loving your reactions!
Animal flow, and money game 1, 2, and 3 are worth it as well.
Ren has albums but he's independant.
Ren is insane everything he does is top tier
You have so much musical fun ahead of you. Ren is a joy to listen to. The sheer talent and humility and humour. You’ll enjoy it 😊
He has albums out, multiple genres, won album of the year this year ☆☆☆☆
So many bangers. He has an older album he put out and a new album called sick boi. "Hold On" is a personal fave. Fun reaction 🎉
Great reaction. We LOVE the enthusiasm. More Ren please.
Brilliant. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you 😊💜😊
You actually had me laughing out loud during this video. I was cracking up. Yes Ren is amazing. He is actually my favorite artist and you are in for a treat. His rabbit hole is a very deep one and it is thoroughly amazing. I can’t wait to watch you dive down this rabbit hole.

All parts of Love Music
Love your excitement! Having so much fun watching you discover the genius that is Ren! It is his world, we just live in it, and get to watch and listen in amazement😊so many suggestions, but I would say”Power” and “Illest of our time”. Enjoy!❤
POWER and the Money Game trilogy
His albums are on iTunes!!!
And Bandcamp😊
The tale of Jenny and screech and violets tale in that order is a 3 song story phenomenal must listen. Animal flow I know you’ll dig it hardcore. Chalk outlines with chinchilla is softer but very powerful and meaningful. As well as how to be me with again chinchilla. Her voice pairs so well with his.
Don't forget to check out "what you want," "Ocean," and "humble" as well
Ocean and humble are 2 of my favorites
Love Eden Nash with him
I am loving your reactions!
Love seeing you loving this! Can't wait to see and hear you experience more Ren, your mind is gonna get blown plenty more times! Nice work, man.
He has dropped the album Sick Boi and it hit number 1 in UK which is unheard of for an independent artist!!
Ren rehearses ‘til he’s got it down in his sleep. Very hard worker.
😂😂You are going to be fun to watch! ❤❤❤
Wicked Ways is nuts. Its Ren talking his shit and his flow is insane
He had a number one rap album in the UK last year. It’s called sick boi and I own it on vinyl.
Ok that’s it! I cannot handle waiting for more of your Ren reactions! Aside from REN’s posts they are my new daily dopamine shots. I cannot keep going without them. 😝Keep’em coming baby! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Ren is the master of changing the flow and the cadence and he produces and he wraps and he does everything plays guitar plays drums this is all his own stuff he is ren That’s all I got to say he’s also #bardcore you know it when you get there ❤️👍🏼
the thing with the pigs and ren is like a symbol for his "dark passenger" he was mentally and physically ill a lot of his life
Ren had the #1 album in the UK last year with Sick Boi. Every song is unique.
Love your energy
"Genuine Frankenstein; I made a monster" -- like Frankenstein he created this song from a patchwork of resurrected (90s hiphop) cadences
Subscribed! Love your reactions to REN. Here for all of them!

Everything he makes is awesome.
Multi-layered madness indeed. Yes, more Ren please 🙂
Check out Ren's discography. It's a treasure of music.
2 down, but over 200 more to go and NONE will disappoint and many will make you believe you have found yet another new genius artist as he is that versatile . I would list my favourite but seriously there are too many. Loving your reaction, the surprise element is what it is all about!!
Also worth mentioning is he writes almost all of his own beats and produces it himself
Great reaction 😂😂. Others have answered your questions so I will just add welcome to Ren and enjoy the ride ❤✌
Sick Boi album #1 in UK!!!
Welcome to the journey. It's a good one, pal. Great reaction, mate
Ren has an interview on 'The Zach Sang Show' where he explains the Pig Mask in his own words. It's also a great Interview to learn a little about his music and struggles, well worth a watch in your own time if something you would be interested in

Ren is amazing❤
Ren is really IT, he can do diferent generes, play diferent instruments, writes, produces and directs, he does beat box, you name it.
He makes live vertions of his own songs… that are totally a different and awesome song
On top of that he is actually a great human being, and does a lot to bring focus on mental health and cronic illnesses.
All of this while being a fully independend artist, suffering from Lyme
Trust me, he never stops surprising you while you go thru his catalog of music.
…sorry for the long post ❤
