BKO, I want to believe it was an unintentional oversight that you dicuss food insecurity as it is currently in Nigeria without mentioning the negatively additive effect of Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen has had on the farming communities especially in the North and South Western parts of Nigeria.
Time has come for us to train our people to practice green house farming down south where we could control the amount of rainfall thereby increasing the varieties of crops that could be produced. Naturally, the South is endowed to do well in fish farming , piggery and poultry. This would guarantee adequate supply in a years time.
Also , you have to mention the menace of local touts that extort hundreds of thousands of naira from every truck and trailer driver coming into Lagos with foodstuff. This has a multiplier effect!
Finally, we cN grow onions in Lagos by implication all over the southern part by greenhouse farming!

But is it that the gentlemen here are deliberately playing politics with the truth or what? A primary one pupil in Nigeria today knew that the farmers were not safe! It is in the public knowledge that the most endangered work in Nigeria today is farming, no thanks to the Fulani open grazers. How many Fulsni has been brought to justice for destroying farm. Why did Igboho rose against the Fulani the other time? They killed his kinsmen that established a mechanized farming in his region for challenging the Fulanis that destroyed his farm! Ask that Old man in Okeabo near Akure. The former SGF... even the police are accomplice in this. These mechanized farming you're just talking about, wait until the produce grows up and see what the Fulani can do! This bill on open grazing should be expedite.
