Really appreciate it man. So I found that singing helps us test the mics a lot more because it covers a bigger range of frequencies from a human voice. =)
To me if the headphone executes binaural beats well. The illusion of binaural makes the sound more fully bodied, palpable and good isolation of multiple tracks that's rendering under surround sound drivers for directional hearing
I got the HS65 and I am returning them because of the bass problem you mentioned. I play War Thunder, a game with tanks & planes & ships, so lots of explosions, and with these headsets, if I didn't use the flat EQ, the explosion sounds would almost drown out the other sounds, but the problem is the flat EQ is not the best for music, that is a deal breaker for me. Do you have any suggestion for another headset? I actually don't really need a mic, I much rather have good sounding headphones.
IMO, to save some money, just use a different EQ for gaming and when listening to music. Gaming headphones are never going to be the best at everything. But if they have a good microphone like the HS65, I still find them very very useable, utility wise. Perhaps you could get a pair of normal headphones like the HiFiMan Sundara that I reviewed recently and put on the Antlion Modmic. But that combo is going to set you back at least 5 times the cost of the HS65.
@@MOBHouse I ended up getting the Epos/Sennheiser GSP 302 for 5 dollars less. They're still gaming headphones but they're made by an audio brand, not a gaming one, so they're better
So I just got the HS55 interestingly, I've seen other reviews of it that have the audio quality being much better than this video and another video. I'll have to test it myself, but I'm wondering if there's some driver issues with the HS55 that get ironed out with iCue being updated. Weirdly, my HS55 came with a USB dongle to adjust things in iCue. Great video though!
Hi, I ave 65 wireless I can hear the sound when I swich on and turn off, but I can not hear the sound of the game. I am using PS5. Any idea? Thanks in advance.
I am checking different headphones for mic quality and there can be an issue with your hs55 test case. I watched many different reviews and in all of them hs55 was very successful. There was also a comparative test between hs55 and 65, they were very close. I was suspecting if they are same about mic quality, but your video made it clear that they use different things in that part.
I'm 100% certain that the microphones are different. If you listen to Hardware Canuck's comparison carefully, you'll spot the difference also. I decided to use singing as a way to compare because that would cover a much broader frequency range than speaking for the particular purpose of highlighting any nuances and differences between microphones.
@@MOBHouse Here they sound close ua-cam.com/video/56fGabpITu8/v-deo.html I checked hardwarecanuck's comparison, it was informative thanks but the reality hits back, it seems I will go for a cheaper solution for now.
Firstly, he did not have all the mics level matched that's why some sound louder than others. Honestly, if you're going for the HS55, perhaps consider the Surround version. There's a chance that they have either improved the mic or the USB adapter really makes a difference. I don't know. Since I never tested the Surround version for the HS55.
my experience with the hs55 hasnt been very good, firstly the ear cup things (idk what they are called) fell off and then the triangle plastic bits under the adjustable part of the headband broke on the left ear so the whole left part of the headset was hanging off by a wire
They are slowly upgrading the durability but I hear you. IMO, to make it more durable, they'd need to put in metal parts or thicker plastic which would make it more bulky and heavy, not to mention more expensive. So it's a delicate balance.
i got the HS55 surround headphones recently but i dont know how to use the mic, to make it more clear im trying to use it on pc but the mic for some reason wont work.
In Thailand right now corsair hs65 Surround and surround wireless is not available to buy, even trial products are not available yet. The product is probably out of stock in every store. There are only corsair hs55 series, hs80 series. So I bought HyperX Cloud3 instead. Already The sound is fine for me. It's comfortable to wear, but I think that if I change the earcups from leather to cloth, I'll be able to wear them longer. Now I've ordered a SoundBlaster X3. I think if I get the X3 it will sound better. As for the microphone, I think the C3's microphone sound is very good. And your video is so good it makes me want to try it on and go out and buy a Corsair Hs65 hahaha.
Honestly, I've only tried the Blackshark V2 out briefly but I can say that these 2 pairs of headsets are quite comparable. But i think the build quality on the HS65 is slightly better,
Hey I'm leaning towards getting the hs65 but I was just wondering if the clamping force and pressure noticeable on your glasses because I'm also someone that wears glasses and don't wanna get force On them like I have with some other headsets so I was wondering if the pressure is okay or not
@@MOBHouse I want to buy a new headset for up to €50. I think Corsair makes the best microphones and the HS80 is the best headset on the market. but the Sgh50 is supposed to be quite good too, or can you recommend another one for up to €50?
i bought the hs 55 and the mic is suprisingly bad, but if you get the usb surround its magically 1000% better, so. buy a adapter if u dont wanna buy the 80 dollar one
Most motherboards on desktops and laptops have surprisingly poor mic-preamps with their 3.5mm jacks. Your mic sounding better with a USB sound card is actually evidence of that.
Unfortunately, that seems to be one aspect that needs to be improved. While trying to keep the audio quality somewhat consistent across the lineup, they have overlooked the durability department especially when it comes to the yoke.
The microphone check was my favorite part of the video very unique way of testing mics LOL so good very good review
also really good voice lol

very organized and simple review! no useless talk or jokes!!
thank you!!
Thanks mate. Appreciate kt
The microphone comparison , best part.Huge difference.Thats where I decided to buy the HS65.Thanks a lot.🎉
Glad I could help!

That microphone comparison was wild. HS55 should have received a 2/10. The HS65s were a clear 9/10
They seemed to have updated the mic on the HS55 Surround version
thanks for this mate, i'm autistic and struggle real hard to take in lots of information at once, but you put it really concisely

how is the headset? is the microphone and audio good quality??
How is it?
Yours is the Surround version. This is the stereo version.
The HS65 is the superior one IMO.
@@MOBHouse ooooh this makes a lot of sense then. Didn't realize there was a difference!
really good review and great singing
Do you NEED the usb in order to use the microphone while gaming?? I heard it doesn't work without it. 🤔

Well done. Thank u for the review.
I purchased Hs65 on Amazon on sale for 60$. My money was worth it. Mic is very great

After watching the ur video i am gonna buy hs 55. Does the adapter comes with sound card equlerzr?
It does.
I brought it today .awesome ❤
Sir good day! What gaming headset can you recommend better for music quality and in a budget side. Thank you
H35 is not bad
@@MOBHouse what brand sir?
Corsair bro
my hs55 sounds exactly like the hs65, i just turned off my audio enhancements that your computer automatically applies
There are 2 HS55 models. One is the surround model and one is the stereo model which is what I reviewed.
my experience with the hs55 hasnt been very good, firstly the ear cup things (idk what they are called) fell off and then the triangle plastic bits under the adjustable part of the headband broke on the left ear so the whole left part of the headset was hanging off by a wire

this was perfect. thank u
Hs55 and hs65 Compare to razer blackshark v2x usb, which one has better sound and is more comfortable? Thank you sir.
hs65

Best review Ive seen so far. Does anyone have a logevity opinion on the headsets?
how about hs65 compare with blackshack v2 ? which is more good to buy?
Honestly, I've only tried the Blackshark V2 out briefly but I can say that these 2 pairs of headsets are quite comparable. But i think the build quality on the HS65 is slightly better,
Is there something wrong with the microphone on the hs55, im confused because i have seen other reviews where it sounds as good as the hs65
This is the stereo version. The surround version seems to have a different mic.
Which one should i go for hs55 stereo or HyperX cloud core 7.1?
The Hyper X is a 7.1 headset, HS55 Stereo only have 2 channels.
is the steelseries nova 1 better than the hs65?
No one say about he sing at the perfection ?
Did you use the usb dongle on the HS65 in the mic test?
I did actually. However, I did test it on a difference device with the audio jack and realized that the mic audio quality was not too far off.
Hey I'm leaning towards getting the hs65 but I was just wondering if the clamping force and pressure noticeable on your glasses because I'm also someone that wears glasses and don't wanna get force On them like I have with some other headsets so I was wondering if the pressure is okay or not
These feel pretty comfy on my head and I have a pretty sizeable head. XD
I would still pick Hyper X Clound II at this price point...
legit choice. the cloud is slightly comfier, these sound slightly better
Hi.
Is HS65 really good for FPS like Pubg Mobile or should I go to HyperX Cloud Alpha?
both good options
Hi, how good is hs55 for music listening?
It's decent but I prefer the HS65.
Almost purchased the 55, they are bad and this video educated me. 65 for the win
enjoy mate!
Thank you for the video. unfortunately has a history of the hinge breaking easily not worth it.
I have a big head and I have had one of those broke before but my editor with a medium sized head faired much better
Why the hs65 microphone is so bad and the hs55 so good?
I have no idea

can you do a astro a10?
maybe later.
Should be mentioned that it does not support linux
I LOVE YOUR VOICE 🥵😍❤️
aww... thanks sis!
I want hs55 surround review not stereo all I see is stereo virson
The mic is going to be the same. Maybe you get a little more resolution out of it, but it won't be too far off.
HS55 SURROUND or HS65 SURROUND?
I'd go H65
i bought a HS55 and it had a usb connector and same software for the HS65 maybe i got lucky and paid less for the same things as the HS65
diff model bro
Where did u get that ? And can i have the link please ?
