- The Hunt Recap Series is not meant to be a lecture on how you should hunt. Its purpose is to share our observations throughout the hunting season. In the past, we have been thankful for those who generously share their learning experiences and this is our simple way of contributing to the conversation. If nothing else, we hope you can avoid some of the mistakes we make out there.
In this video, we cover the strategies that didn't work and then share how we eventually got on a good buck. Some of the topics covered:
1. Hill country bedding in the AG
2. Our approach to an early season whitetail hunt
3. How we tackle hunting a new area that we've never been to
4. Key food sources
5. The role water played in this early season hunt
6. How human activity affected the hunt
7. Deer movement in and out of bedding
8. Why mobile hunting is crucial for success for an out of state hunt
As always thank you for watching!!

These type of videos is what I think will you apart. Breaking down hunts is so helpful because you can then actually visualize how to go about your own personal hunts. Appreciate what you guys do.
Thank you!!
PLEASE keep pumping out recap videos! Great work!
The breakdown you done was super helpful to see other point of views, and scenarios. Subscribed.
Keep up good work thanks!
Love these videos (very informative, great quality, concise, the topo map breakdowns are awesome)
I really like this recap. It’s cool to deep dive each hunt and highlight the hot topics like water over food and how the buck travelled to the low spot immediately to check thermals. Good stuff fellas.
excellent video. and you're process you used to scout was really helpful
Thank you!
You guys are putting out some awesome videos. I hope you plan on continuing this next season. Best of luck
Love how you are trying to teach. So glad I brought a method 2. About to go sit in a tree and get some practice in.
It just keeps getting better every week. Well done boys. You guys make it make sense.
Nice breakdown. I like that it’s separate from the kill episode. As usual, nice work boys!
Absolutely! Love the recap version afterwards for the condensed info.
Love this video. NAILED IT!
Awesome recap
Love the recap videos and strategy explanations. Id like to plan my first out of state hunt and this stuff helps. Appreciate it fellas 👍
Thank you!
Loving the hunt recaps but could you also add the hunter entry/ exit paths and why you chose them!
yes we will do that!
Love your videos and the details you provide. Always something to learn and improve on and your content provides tons of goodies.
Was anyone else distracted watching Alex trying to strap the cam to a cedar tree? lol
On the setups it looked like your wind would have been blowing towards where the deer were coming from maybe I’m looking at that wrong?
As far as them bedding as they would in hill country, I thought they like to bed with the wind at their back and in a spot where they can see. It looked as though they were bedding with the wind in their face and on the edge? I could be totally wrong this is just what confuses me.
Hey Nick, thanks for question. We saw deer bedded on the water AND bedded with the wind at their back on the hills. Sometimes the water wasn't setup for them to bed like they do in the hills, like you saw in the hunt where we killed that buck. But the buck we missed was using hill country bedding. Sorry, we didn't do a good job explaining that. Hopefully this helps clear things up. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@latitudeoutdoors don’t be sorry! That makes sense though. I love this stuff and this style of video really helps make it all make sense. really looking forward to more content from you guys!
