- Hey everybody! I hope you enjoy my take on a female Scar!
I know people get pretty iffy with the whole changing the lyrics to suit a female, but for this song I really felt like it kind of HAD to be that way otherwise it would of just seemed a bit out of context. Just pretend Scar and Mufasa are two lion sisters for this!

A lot of female covers of Disney songs, while they do a good job, often sound a little too soft and delicate. Here, though, you're unafraid to really growl and shout, which I think is awesome because it makes it sound more lively and in-character. So yeah, great work!!

You know... Recently it's been found that in the wild, naturally, some females actually do develop manes and roar like males... so this scar is legit and fab.

From what I know he strained his throat and the song had ton be completed by someone else- probably inflamed the larynx or some such, I'll see if I can find the source.

I'm strongly in favour of the "tweak the lyrics to suit the gender swap", but reading the comment about Scar's mane made me laugh imagining that female Scar has this big magnificent *fake* mane she wears as she preens about as "Queen". Damn, now I want a version of the Lion King with Mufasa, Scar and Simba as female...

At first, I found the close imitation to the original's singin' more amusin' than anything else, so I giggled until halfway into the video. But by the end, I was so impressed, I just had to listen to it again.

I stayed to listen to it, I was not disappointed. Highlight of the cover
I thought this was gonna be plain old singing. But no, she did it all. The voice, the expression. It felt like she just edited scars voice to make it more female.
Hearing this reminded me that Jeremy Irons, Scar's voice-actor, barely could sing or raise his voice very high. We tend to forget this because Scar sounded intimidating enough to get it to work.
Here, we have a skilled singer attempting to cross the beams by attempting to sing while doing an impression of him. The result was a combination of hit and miss which hurt her throat, overall resulting in a victory.
I dread the result of a successful combination of the two, as it would likely break the universe.

+Red Dragon Jeremy Irons could sing fairly well (all thing considered anyways) but the main issue is he blew out his vocal cords singing "You won't get a sniff without me" and after that his voice was shot for the rest of the song and most of the later lines of the movie
He smoked like a chimney the entire time, and subsequently blew out his vocal chords for a bit. Two packs a day will do that.

I noticed a lot of female covers seem to be focused on sounding flowery which isn't necessarily a bad thing but they tend to focus on you know sounding pretty rather than fitting the tone/keeping the inflections used in the original song.

Gave me shivers. Favorite Disney song, favorite Disney villain and favorite actor all in one. Amazing job on the cover. Jeremy Irons would be proud.

lots of chicks tend to cover male villain songs and, while they are talented, they tend to be timid in taking on the character. I absolutely love covers of songs when theyre done right. and this take on scars song was just as amazing as, if not better then the original. And thsts the goal of a cover, not to copy it, but to soind better, to make the song your own, but still concey the feelings the song is meant to. This was amazing!

Well said. She can feel songs perfectly and my heart is crying cos i cant. I wish i could dub a nice princess and sing for her in English and Polish dubbing (yes Cinderella complex. There have never been a case in which a character would be dubbed in 2 different languages by the same person, i would be first. Yes i want people to feel jealous cos im jealous of others luck all the time), but im not good as her.

I’m covering this song for my female version of Scar and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who isn’t afraid to pay homage to the original vocal and let it shine through in my version. For some reason, a lot of females shy away from this... as they don’t think it’s feminine perhaps. This is honestly the best female cover of Scar bar none, you’ve retained all of the essence and dimension of the original while still making it your own.
Your interpretation as lioness is superb!! It's like I image Scar if he were female. Despotic and passionate.

This is arguably the best female cover of Be Prepared I've heard. You really put "oomph" into the song that a lot of other singers are a little too afraid to do, and you really growl at the right moments too. It really gives the impression I'm listening to a malicious tyrant plotting murder. Really good job!
