    Jerm, you are well on your way to owning your own disc manufacturers business. Uli, you are sliding into a leadership role nicely you'll be extremely valuable to new players and the league. AB, you're going to be very successful as a champion player, just stay humble and remember longevity is the route to success. Great content Jomez, thanks for the the hard work and for the free entertainment!

    If you want to emulate newbie form, just try to keep your head pointed at the target during your reachback.
    This forces them to reach around their body rather than straight out from it with their upper body properly coiled. This tends to lead to nose up hyzer release. A recent video showed me a new way to encourage people to turn their shoulders all the way back, by focusing on throwing their *left* shoulder forward during the reach back. In other words, think "left shoulder toward target", and the right shoulder will naturally follow your reach. Has other benefits as well, like keeping your body more upright (instead of leaning back to follow your reach, which also causes nose up release).

    Isn’t the snap just your fingers smacking your palm after you throw a disc? If that happens after, I don’t see how it could have an effect on the release/speed/spin rate. Louder snap could be an indicator of how tightly you were gripping the disc before releasing it, but everybody has different hands, so not everyone is going to have snap. I do think it’s a good thing to hear snap when throwing hard because I think a tight grip is important for big distance, but no snap is not necessarily a bad thing because your hands might not shaped to create snap.

  • @ryanschnarr9998
    @ryanschnarr9998 7 місяців тому +3

    Absolutely no idea, but you could try some N3 from Cam over at blacktail studios and possibly preserve the disc ar its optimal wrar for a bit longer... might also fly out of your hands.. 😂

  • @Marc-Davis
    @Marc-Davis 6 місяців тому

    Snap is a function of grip strength and grip type. People think it's the sound of the disc leaving your fingers, but it's the sound of your fingers hitting your hand. If you have a tighter grip, as the disc rips out your fingers will crash into your hand faster. My hypothesis is that snap means nothing by itself, but could provide an indication of grip strength, which could mean something.

  • @howdyhey4985
    @howdyhey4985 7 місяців тому

    I think the snap also is a tell on how hard you are gripping the disc. The harder you are gripping the harder and faster your fingers hit your hand upon release. Also im guessing Uli has smaller hands than AB which also might play a roll in spin rate and all that as well.

    snap comes from your fingers hitting your palm. doesnt make a difference. but possibly Uli's grip when he makes a snap is a sign he is doing something else that is less effective. but the snap it's self makes no difference.

  • @TwoOneSe7en
    @TwoOneSe7en 6 місяців тому

    Ummmm, just from personal experience… when I started gripping harder, and snap got louder… my disc started going considerably farther. All that stored energy is just being loaded into the fingers and the snap isn’t drag. It’s literally just your middle/ring fingers hitting the meat of your palm. The disc is already out of the hand before that sound occurs.

      It seems like "State" or "States" is a regional term. It signs like Texas says State, but when I was in Florida (and other states on the east coast), we called it "States." This was actually the first time I've heard someone say State in that context. I had to do some Googling to see what that was about.

    Debate about snap.. as usual, complicated. If you have the potential to accelerate your disc to, say, 100 miles per hour. A tight grip with a loud snap is the only way you could do so.
    But for most mortals, assuming you have good form that doesn’t take the disc off the line too much, a loud snap would either indicate taking speed off the disc or reducing accuracy..

    • @jno1686
      @jno1686 7 місяців тому

      We also sometimes instinctively react to rounding with a tighter grip/ louder snap.

    The Snap Sound:
    When a disc is in flight, its primary energy is kinetic energy, derived from both its movement through the air and its rotation. The snap sound occurs due to energy release from friction between the disc and the air or the player’s fingers. Essentially, this sound represents the conversion of kinetic energy from the disc into sound energy. T
    Essentially the louder the snap, the more kinetic energy is lost to friction. While it’s challenging to pinpoint an exact percentage, it is likely only a small fraction of the total kinetic energy involved in the throw and might be negligible ultimately. 🥏
