Exactly. Meanwhile she wasn’t suppose to be left alone with the kids and he did just that and left her alone with them. He was obviously blind to the fact, she was so sick and needed help and yeah know I’m sure he wishes he did different and not left her alone with the kids. She waves her review for release every year. I don’t think she wants to ever be released. She has to live with the fact she killed all her children and probably was and still is, one of the most hated woman in America.

I agree with you, he was negligent. BUT keep in mind, it was a different time. mental health wasn’t discussed like it is today, especially a post partum psychosis. he definitely made mistakes in not taking more care of her and the kids and especially in pressuring her to get more and more kids, but I also don’t think he really understood the severity of her state of mind.

The only person to blame for the death of Rusty’s kids is Rusty himself. He kept dismissing his wife’s mental issues & didn’t want to get her treatment. He was obsessed with having as many kids as possible, regardless of the impact it had on his wife (even though she was expected to do everything to take care of all their kids), and when the doctors told him not to leave Andrea alone with the kids due to her repeatedly mentioning how she wanted to hurt the kids, he left her alone with the kids anyway. He’s even more to blame for the death of those kids than Andrea is. She was sick, what’s his excuse for being so ignorant?

It’s Rusty Yates fault. As a society, we are so educated about proper mental health & have such a great, affordable system in place to help families in these trying times. It’s hard enough on parents who have just had one child without any health issues to adjust & survive the first months of a baby’s life, & we don’t have any community support system for these parents much less ones in a crisis.
From what I remember, I disagree with most of Rusty & Andrea Yates life choices, but that doesn’t make them evil or more responsible than they would be if I agreed with them on everything. I remember how many people wanted them both in prison for life to executed because of their beliefs. It’s not the way to build an empathetic, rational country that operates on the best knowledge & practices to date.

You bring the man who literally aided in his wife’s postpartum psychosis to chime in on this subject??? Incredible. Rusty is equally to blame for going against her doctors orders by continuing to get Andrea pregnant AND leaving her alone with the children. They had been told multiple times that she was mentally unwell and that she was a risk to herself and the children. He pushed it. He left them alone with her and within the span of an hour his 5 children drowned.
Andrea was an RN…she was a person. Not just a mother. Not just a wife. She lost all sense of her identity and reality, she’s probably had horrible nightmares, and probably has to take a concoction of pills every single day and will continue to take them for the rest of her life….and this bozo’s first words were “y’know, doing pretty good….life moves on”

( PPD/P) history, she had advanced education on identifying PPD/psychosis & what to do about it (she was a labor & delivery nurse). Furthermore, the doctor gave her strategies to not kill her kids, BUT, she killed her kids the first time she had a chance(Andrea Yates 101). And just like Andrea Yates she had children AFTER she was diagnosed with post partum psychosis depression.
The state should have pre agreed upon charges depending on severity of unintended (YET PREDICTABLE) consequences to the children.
The husband & doctor should have manslaughter charges. She should have murder charges (unsure of degree)
#1 Her other 2 kids would 100% not have been murdered by her, if she/they hadn't had their last pregnancy/3rd child BECAUSE She had a KNOWN history of Postpartum depression & psychosis AND KNOWINGLY invited the risk of SUICIDE & HOMICIDE into her home that comes with this rare & deadly mental disorder that is brought about by birthing children.
#2 She and her husband showed their clinicians they were not good decision makers by creating more children with NO 24/7 caregiver support. She has a history of suffering from a disease that results in uncontrollable suicidal & homicidal INTRUSIVE thoughts & behaviors; no care plan should've equaled removal of children from her address.
#3 If those children were not victims of white privilege, CPS would've forced separation or
put the kids in kinship care or foster care, if mom was going to live there. Child endangerment
is textbook reason & routine for enforced parent-child separation. Poor parents are forced to EITHER
live separate OR lose custody for WAY LESS PREDICTABLY DANGEROUS circumstances.
#4 If the children were not going to live separately from the mother, the father should have signed supervision contract, acknowledging the consequences from child abuse to manslaughter charges for each child hurt or killed if something occurred.
#5 As a mandated reporter, the physician should have reported that the family continues to have children DESPITE mom suffering from a suicidal/homicidal disorder. And that the mom was living with the children, DESPITE knowing the potential dangers & documented homicides & suicides that occur at STATISTICALLY & CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT # in this disorder.

Really weird that he didn't take them away if she was "deteriorating." He was never concerned?? Now he magically forgives her and makes a go fund me?? Something stinks in Denmark. Also funny how she "attempted" suicide but didn't actually succeed in killing herself. That's very convenient. Jumping out a window doesn't seem very effective, but she knew how to asphyxiate her kids? Think about how fast she had to work, plus the physical strength involved. That's five minutes per kid and five to jump out the window, because allegedly he was gone for 20 min total. It seems very calculated. Also convenient he happened to be out "running errands" at the same exact time. If she gets pardoned because of her alleged (and convenient) postpartum condition, these two get to ride off into the sunset with three lives worth of insurance money. Wake up!!

4:43 I understand that for someone who has never seen or heard of disturbances in mental health may have a “rosy” outlook and not pick-up slight signs in facial expressions or affect.
In these photos, note the difference between the ex-spouses. Compare the intensity in the eyes and smile.
It seems obvious that the woman’s affect is slightly incongruent. They are not in-sync. These facial expressions are minor but there would have been many clues in her general behaviour, conversation coherence, mood etc.
It is a petrifying illness and usually sufferers turn on themselves, but attacks on others, sadly do occur.

I will tell you why these men"Rusty and the father of the three diseased children last week" are so forgiving!!!
Why? Because down deep they know that they feel so guilty because they partake of those tragedy and make them guilty as the women!!!
They knew the symptoms and how it all went down the drain way before these woken were diagnosed with depression, anxiety, stress, postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis and even before tragedy struck!!!
You might wonder: what are you talking about!!
I will tell you from my experience: when you get married, you believe it's the most amazing feeling of your life that you finally found a partner to spend the "rest of your life with him," not knowing what awaits you along the way!!
Then here comes the most exciting news: you are pregnant with baby #1, #2, #3, #4, and so on and so forth!!
They are keeping you so insanely busy that you are forced to leave your 40-hour job to become a "happy-go-lucky full-time mom," not realizing what will be expected of you by no longer being the breadwinner!!
Here comes the surprises: "You get to stay up late to feed the newborn. You are the first one that gets up and gets the kiddos ready for breakfast and school, where you might also be responsible for drop off/pick up from school!!! You are back home, expected by husband to do laundry, cleaning the entire home, cooking, all by yourself because the hubby is working full time and is doing everything in his power flto pay the bills so that you can "happily enjoy your children and be a FULL-TIME STAY HOME MOM WITHOUT A PAYCHECK, PAID TIME OFF, WOTHOUT REST, WITHOUT HAVING FRIENDS OVER BECAUSE THE HOUSE IS A MESS 24-7 NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BENT YOURSELF BACKWARDS TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND ORGANIZED!! AND THE WORST OF ALL DON'T YOU DARE TO COMPLAIN NOR CRY TO HUBBY BECAUSE HE IS THE SOLE BREADWINNER!!!
AHHA: SO HERE IT'S WHERE ALL THOSE ANXIETY, STRESS, AND DEPRESSION SYMPTOMS START KICKING IN AT ITS FULLEST WHICH IN TURN PROGRESS TO POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AND POSTPARTUM PSYCHOSIS!!!
YOU FEEL SAD, HOPELESS, AND THINK DEEPLY IN SUICIDE BECAUSE YOUR MIND AND HEART FEELS THAT YOU CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE PRESSURE OF DOING EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF AND THEN THINK THAT ITS BEST TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN DOWN ALONG WITH YOU BECAUSE THE HUBBY WHICH WAS NEVER REALLY THERE TO SUPPORT YOU EMOTIONALLY OR NEVER REALLY SPENT TIME TO DO CHORES AT HOMENOR DOING HOMEWORK OR PARTICIPATING IN HIS CHILDRENS LIVES BECAUSE HE WAS TO BISY SOCIALIZING WITH HIS BUDDIES AFTER A HARD WORKING DAY , YOU THINK, HE WILL NEVER MAKE TIME FOR THEM BECAUSE HE IS TOO BUSY WORKING OR IS SOCIALIZING, SO ITS BEST FOR YOU NOT TO LEAVE THEM BEHIND WITH HIM!!!!
THIS IS WHERE TRAGEDY STRUCKS WHAT APPEARED TO BE A LOVELY HOME TO OUTSIDERS BUT IN REALITY, ITS A PLACE FULL OF PRESSURE, STRESS, AND ANXIETY TO TRY TO BE A FULL TIME MOM ON YOUR OWN WITHOUT THE FATHER PARTICIPATING IN THE UPBRINGING OF HIS/HER CHILDREN!!!
SO I BELIEVE THAT THESE SO FORGIVING PARENTS SHOULD ALSO BE PROSECUTED FOR MARITAL NEGLIGENCE THAT LED TO SUCH HORRIBLE TRAGEDY!!!
Please, moms, if you read me, let your story be heard!! Let us come forward and cry out for help!!!
Let us pray for each other, let us pray for our souls, and let us pray for our children who are at the highest risk of our mentality falling into this dreaded psychological illness that is taking the lives of our own innocent children and loosing our own selves in the process if trying to get in our feet to be the same person we were before we got married or before we even got children!!
MAY GOD BLESS YOU MOMMA IF YOU ARE RIGHT NOW FEELING THIS WAY AND FEEL THAT YOU ARE ALONE!!!
