HORRIBLE option of someone to interview about this. Is he not also largely at fault, wasn't it him who continued to encourage her to have children, left her to majority care for them and not believe in her psychological issues?

@@daniellex51484 what? this issue is nothing compared to Chris Watts….Everyone has postpartum blues because you’re hormones are out of wack after having children but when when it leads to PPD it can become a serious problem and when it turns to psychosis it’s an emergency and inpatient care is needed. This condition is not a joke and very real.
@@CuyLand So show COMPASSION for a mother who murdered her children because of sickness, but show absolute HATE for a Father who does the exact same thing. The double standards needs to looked at in the same manner. One is not more special than the other.
OB-GYN physicians need to watch their patients very carefully after they give birth. Blood work should be done to monitor them. Any mom diagnosed with post-partem psychosis needs to be monitored very carefully (in my honest opinion), until her hormones are balanced and blood work normal. This is serious!
Obgyn’s see their patients once MAYBE twice if complicated birth after birth. That’s why this happens . Post partum care is a joke in the USA. A joke. It’s so unfair to mothers and children.
I had severe PPD after my third baby. I made a decision to kill myself and not by baby. I wish I had been treated correctly. My Hgb was 7. I was very anemic which was a huge factor. I still look back on it with such strong feelings that I wasn't cared for and I didn't know what to do to help myself.
This is so true. So often the underlying medical conditions are overlooked. I’m so glad you are ok. I truly believe these mothers would never do such a thing if they were healthy.
I see Rusty is just as docile as ever…. There’s a test for postpartum why not make it mandatory like any other testing upon first yr of life and parenthood.
lmao there isnt a test to determine beforehand if a woman will have post partum PSYCHOSIS. that isnt something predictable in most cases if it hasnt happened before.
I have had psychosis. These women were sick, not evil...they were both warm, loving mothers. When you have psychosis you have no control over your thoughts and behaviours, are paranoid and have delusions. You lose touch with reality.
So you feel the same way about other murderers suffering from mental disorders? Like for instance Dylann Roof? Jared Loughner? Were they not under some form of psychosis as well?
Really? No control? She controlled herself until her husband left to get takeout . He was working from home to help help her out. So, again, no control. Is that why she was able to control herself and think calculated to wait for the husband to leave so she can kill the children with no interruption? She was able to control herself. If she had zero control , she would have just started killing right there with her husband there because she has no Control , right? But she wasn’t going to risk being stopped, so she clearly planned to murder her poor children when the only person who can help them left the house . No control…Suuuure.

@@djobe420 I think due to Loughner's long mental health issues and the fact he was incompetent to stand trial on several occasions he should’ve been placed in a federal psychiatric unit rather than in prison for life. Andrea Yate was also put in prison until they retrial and put her in a mental health facility (I also think this case open up new conversations in the health care system and why us nurses are now being educated extensively on this subject). As for Dylann Roof, he lost all credibility by the statements he made and by his actions way before the shooting, days leading up and his action during and after the trial.
I can’t even imagine how hard it was for both of them realizing their children are gone im sure Andrea snapped out of it at some point and was devastated
I just don't think PPD or PPP qualifies someone as a "criminal or murderer." We know Chris Watts killed his kids.. but Andrea Yates or Lindsay Clancy had a medical condition that made them act against their will & not know what they were doing." Not to place blame but either woman shouldn't have been left alone, even for 5 minutes. Get door dash to deliver food, have groceries delivered, have family/friends take turns staying over for an hour or two while you need to run errands. Until the mothers medical condition is stabilized.
Absolutely true. Sometimes tho there aren't people in the mother's life who will support them in this way. Some people have all the family and friends around them who believe it's the mums job and the mum should be happy to give up everything to look after kids and not get upset or tired etc etc blah blah. I know bcoz I had all those people around me. Luckily I still also had somehow enough willpower to realise that's all crap and sometimes I can't do it all and that's ok. But still had no-one to ask to take my baby for a few hrs to help. Etc. Luckily the second time around my daughter was 10 & she would come distract my 18-24 month old for half an hour when she heard me start to get frustrated or upset, bless her. If not for her, who knows 🤷
Exactly it wasn't Dylan Roof's fault he killed 10 people he was sick........... That's basically what you're saying. It's the fault of the minorities for being a different color.
In patient treatments cost upwards of 1500 a day and insurance doesn’t cover it. If there aren’t any ways to get help, how do you expect them to get it?? I can’t afford that. I can’t afford to get door dash every day, we can’t afford for my husband to not go to work, and we don’t have family that can take off of work. I’m sorry but we need more resources.
Sorry it’s hard to take a man seriously when he was told by Andrea’s doctor to not have any more babies after the 4th baby due to her history of postpartum psychosis, and then has the 5th baby anyway.
IMHO people with PPP or PPD can't be prosecuted. They are not fit for trial and can't be held accountable for their actions. As a person who suffered from clinical depression in the past, it's indescribable how painful it feels, and how distorted your perception of reality becomes. The pain could theoretically cause you to feel that killing a loved one is good, because you want to protect them from the pain you're experiencing. I hope people will understand my point.
Mothers that are otherwise very loving and good to their children don't want to harm them. We have to understand this condition better with empathy and compassion in order to help it not happen again. I'm praying for Lindsay Clancy. Regardless of the outcome of her trial, she will be in her own prison everyday for the rest of her life. Mothers deserve better post partum care in this country. And so do their children.
I completely agree. I thinks so many people who have never had these thoughts, assume it couldn't happen to them but it could happen to anyone unfortunately. More awareness is definitely needed.
Postpartum depression is a serious issue and I feel like there's not enough awareness about it or people talking about it and it's a horrible experience. I experienced it after having my son but everyone has different symptoms and I never had symptoms of wanting to hurt my son, I wanted to hurt myself and I no longer wanted to be alive it was the worst feeling ever in it traumatized me from having kids in the future but due to complications I can no longer have more kids anyway I just have my fourteen-year-old son. The nurse came into the room after having my son and saw that I was sobbing and didn't want anyone into the room which was a sign of postpartum and she said a social worker in and they did absolutely nothing because they felt my case was in serious enough which was so messed up because I had to go live with my sister to be able to care for my son. I could have never of done it on my own alone at home with my son and on top of that he was very colicky and I wasn't getting any sleep at all it was torture for me and like I said I've been traumatized but luckily I can no longer have any more children and I don't want to experience that ever again.
Every single person let Andrea and her children down. The church more than the rest by telling her she needs more God and prayers not therapy and medication.
I had ppd and pyschosis. I was able to pray to god for help and eventually got better. Mommas please take care of yourselves. Please get help, take time to relax and get back to your old self. This happens to so many moms that i know of. Mommas hold on to your faith god is with you!!!
This is very rare. Fathers have done this too. In a town next to the town I live in, there was a case like this. There have been several cases over the last 20 or so years, locally, where fathers have done stuff like this. So it doesn't happen just with women. I believe that metal health issues need to be addressed in a more precise manner. But it's hard because if penalties are too stiff it can discourage people from speaking up, but we need to figure out something.
She wasn't getting sub par care. She was getting therapy 20 out of every 30 days. She wasn't a clueless gas station clerk, or stay at home mom, aside from her personal Postpartum depression/psychosis ( PPD/P) history, she had advanced education on identifying PPD/psychosis & what to do about it (she was a labor & delivery nurse). Furthermore, the doctor gave her strategies to not kill her kids, BUT, she killed her kids the first time she had a chance(Andrea Yates 101). And just like Andrea Yates she had children AFTER she was diagnosed with post partum psychosis depression. The state should have pre agreed upon charges depending on severity of unintended (YET PREDICTABLE) consequences to the children. The husband & doctor should have manslaughter charges. She should have murder charges (unsure of degree) #1 Her other 2 kids would 100% not have been murdered by her, if she/they hadn't had their last pregnancy/3rd child BECAUSE She had a KNOWN history of Postpartum depression & psychosis AND KNOWINGLY invited the risk of SUICIDE & HOMICIDE into her home that comes with this rare & deadly mental disorder that is brought about by birthing children. #2 She and her husband showed their clinicians they were not good decision makers by creating more children with NO 24/7 caregiver support. She has a history of suffering from a disease that results in uncontrollable suicidal & homicidal INTRUSIVE thoughts & behaviors; no care plan should've equaled removal of children from her address. #3 If those children were not victims of white privilege, CPS would've forced separation or put the kids in kinship care or foster care, if mom was going to live there. Child endangerment is textbook reason & routine for enforced parent-child separation. Poor parents are forced to EITHER live separate OR lose custody for WAY LESS PREDICTABLY DANGEROUS circumstances. #4 If the children were not going to live separately from the mother, the father should have signed supervision contract, acknowledging the consequences from child abuse to manslaughter charges for each child hurt or killed if something occurred. #5 As a mandated reporter, the physician should have reported that the family continues to have children DESPITE mom suffering from a suicidal/homicidal disorder. And that the mom was living with the children, DESPITE knowing the potential dangers & documented homicides & suicides that occur at STATISTICALLY & CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT # in this disorder.
Agree 100%. Why the husband left her alone even for 25 minutes is beyond me. That should have never happened. Literally the same situation with Yates, she was left alone for an hour and took the opportunity. Parents need to learn from this and do better.
Mr Yates is a liar after so many years he's playing dumb? I'm sorry but I remember reading the doctor told him NOT to get her pregnant again he DID and was told by the doc NOT to leave her alone with the kids he DID.

Yes you are so right. It is lack of food too. When I had my fifth child, I couldn't figure out why I was so sad.... and I tried to be a vegan. Stupid me- once i started eating more i felt less depressed. a lot of that comes from stress.
Really weird that he didn't take them away if she was "deteriorating." He was never concerned?? Now he magically forgives her and makes a go fund me?? Something stinks in Denmark. Also funny how she "attempted" suicide but didn't actually succeed in killing herself. That's very convenient. Jumping out a window doesn't seem very effective, but she knew how to asphyxiate her kids? Think about how fast she had to work, plus the physical strength involved. That's five minutes per kid and five to jump out the window, because allegedly he was gone for 20 min total. It seems very calculated. Also convenient he happened to be out "running errands" at the same exact time. If she gets pardoned because of her alleged (and convenient) postpartum condition, these two get to ride off into the sunset with three lives worth of insurance money. Wake up!!
4:43 I understand that for someone who has never seen or heard of disturbances in mental health may have a “rosy” outlook and not pick-up slight signs in facial expressions or affect. In these photos, note the difference between the ex-spouses. Compare the intensity in the eyes and smile. It seems obvious that the woman’s affect is slightly incongruent. They are not in-sync. These facial expressions are minor but there would have been many clues in her general behaviour, conversation coherence, mood etc. It is a petrifying illness and usually sufferers turn on themselves, but attacks on others, sadly do occur.
Bruh, that jackass Rusty Yates needs to take some accountability for what happened, too. His ex-wife doesn't need his forgiveness when he's the one who destroyed her sanity in the first place. The friggin audacity of him to "forgive" Andrea is astounding.
That is a horrible tragedy, that's what postpartum depression and physical and mental exhaustion can lead to, I've always thought that women should have someone close by to keep on the look out for red flags like psychotic episodes, many times women express these desires if people around them are willing to listen and get the help on time.
Rusty is a disgusting figure.! He is sitting there and taking like the murders were someone else’s showing no guilt. It was him who insisted Andrea keep pregnant.
What a despicable man. The Yates family belonged to a no-divorce religion, Yates said he would never divorce or abandon his wife. And here he is all poor mouth and pleading ignorance. He should have been tried for failure to protect his children and for manslaughter. Let's us not give him any more of our time or attention. He should crawl behind a wall.

AHHA: SO HERE IT'S WHERE ALL THOSE ANXIETY, STRESS, AND DEPRESSION SYMPTOMS START KICKING IN AT ITS FULLEST WHICH IN TURN PROGRESS TO POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AND POSTPARTUM PSYCHOSIS!!! YOU FEEL SAD, HOPELESS, AND THINK DEEPLY IN SUICIDE BECAUSE YOUR MIND AND HEART FEELS THAT YOU CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE PRESSURE OF DOING EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF AND THEN THINK THAT ITS BEST TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN DOWN ALONG WITH YOU BECAUSE THE HUBBY WHICH WAS NEVER REALLY THERE TO SUPPORT YOU EMOTIONALLY OR NEVER REALLY SPENT TIME TO DO CHORES AT HOMENOR DOING HOMEWORK OR PARTICIPATING IN HIS CHILDRENS LIVES BECAUSE HE WAS TO BISY SOCIALIZING WITH HIS BUDDIES AFTER A HARD WORKING DAY , YOU THINK, HE WILL NEVER MAKE TIME FOR THEM BECAUSE HE IS TOO BUSY WORKING OR IS SOCIALIZING, SO ITS BEST FOR YOU NOT TO LEAVE THEM BEHIND WITH HIM!!!! THIS IS WHERE TRAGEDY STRUCKS WHAT APPEARED TO BE A LOVELY HOME TO OUTSIDERS BUT IN REALITY, ITS A PLACE FULL OF PRESSURE, STRESS, AND ANXIETY TO TRY TO BE A FULL TIME MOM ON YOUR OWN WITHOUT THE FATHER PARTICIPATING IN THE UPBRINGING OF HIS/HER CHILDREN!!! SO I BELIEVE THAT THESE SO FORGIVING PARENTS SHOULD ALSO BE PROSECUTED FOR MARITAL NEGLIGENCE THAT LED TO SUCH HORRIBLE TRAGEDY!!! Please, moms, if you read me, let your story be heard!! Let us come forward and cry out for help!!! Let us pray for each other, let us pray for our souls, and let us pray for our children who are at the highest risk of our mentality falling into this dreaded psychological illness that is taking the lives of our own innocent children and loosing our own selves in the process if trying to get in our feet to be the same person we were before we got married or before we even got children!! Andrea was also a grown woman that should’ve stood her ground and taken charge of her mental health. People with mental health problems also need to take accountability and understand what they need and how to remove themselves and regulate.

HORRIBLE option of someone to interview about this. Is he not also largely at fault, wasn't it him who continued to encourage her to have children, left her to majority care for them and not believe in her psychological issues?
Yep. Rusty is a real bastard.

@@audreydaleski1067 agreed. Rusty Yates put Andrea’s ability to get pregnant and birth more babies ahead of anything else. There are so many documented instances of him choosing to ignore multiple doctor’s suggestions - and discouragement of her taking prescription medication for her mental health issues - over and over. She’d already tried to kill herself twice before this. He’s abhorrent. He’s not like the dad in the most recent situation who seems to have been bending over backwards to get his wife help. This guy Rusty has always given a real strange vibe.
Rusty is as much to blame of what happened to his kids. Andrea was sick, and Rusty was told not to keep on getting her pregnant. She was sick after her first kid. She went on to have 4 more. Her pschosis kept getting worse with each pregnancy.

They were neurotic, not psychotic.
@@gabrielamartiniuc6322 In her deranged mind she probably thought the children were demons or something and knew the husband would try to stop her so did wait for him to go out...that doesn't mean she wasn't psychotic.
This guy is a monster.
I just don't think PPD or PPP qualifies someone as a "criminal or murderer." We know Chris Watts killed his kids.. but Andrea Yates or Lindsay Clancy had a medical condition that made them act against their will & not know what they were doing."
Not to place blame but either woman shouldn't have been left alone, even for 5 minutes. Get door dash to deliver food, have groceries delivered, have family/friends take turns staying over for an hour or two while you need to run errands. Until the mothers medical condition is stabilized.
100% CORRECT

Why is Rusty always doing press tours? He’s disgusting.
That's it? Wow. I think much more of a discussion, including more information from a psychologist knowledgeable in these cases, is needed.
Agree 100% !
They must be locked away though right? For the sake of children, no?
@@hmq9052 of course they need to be under surveillance/supervision to protect themselves and others from harm.
But people with schizophrenia who kill still deserve to be imprisoned for life?
@@djobe420 why would you assume that?
Mothers that are otherwise very loving and good to their children don't want to harm them. We have to understand this condition better with empathy and compassion in order to help it not happen again. I'm praying for Lindsay Clancy. Regardless of the outcome of her trial, she will be in her own prison everyday for the rest of her life.
Mothers deserve better post partum care in this country. And so do their children.
perfectly said. She will be in her own living hell for the rest of her life.
It’s so sad. It could happen to anyone.
He gets a little sad? So why didn't he listen to doctors? Trash.
Still in denial about his part!
She wasn't getting sub par care. She was getting therapy 20 out of every 30 days. She wasn't a clueless gas station clerk, or stay at home mom, aside from her personal Postpartum depression/psychosis
( PPD/P) history, she had advanced education on identifying PPD/psychosis & what to do about it (she was a labor & delivery nurse).
She should have murder charges (unsure of degree)
#1 Her other 2 kids would 100% not have been murdered by her, if she/they hadn't had their last pregnancy/3rd child BECAUSE She had a KNOWN history of Postpartum depression & psychosis AND KNOWINGLY invited the risk of SUICIDE & HOMICIDE into her home that comes with this rare & deadly mental disorder that is brought about by birthing children.
#3 If those children were not victims of white privilege, CPS would've forced separation or
put the kids in kinship care or foster care, if mom was going to live there. Child endangerment
is textbook reason & routine for enforced parent-child separation. Poor parents are forced to EITHER
live separate OR lose custody for WAY LESS PREDICTABLY DANGEROUS circumstances.
Why would cps have taken the children? She was not diagnosed with PPD/D. How do you know if the Dr gave her strategies not to kill her kids?
I think the audience can live if the segments come out a few min later and all the ends aren't cut off 🙃

I will tell you why these men"Rusty and the father of the three diseased children last week" are so forgiving!!!
Why? Because down deep they know that they feel so guilty because they partake of those tragedy and make them guilty as the women!!!
They knew the symptoms and how it all went down the drain way before these woken were diagnosed with depression, anxiety, stress, postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis and even before tragedy struck!!!
You might wonder: what are you talking about!!
I will tell you from my experience: when you get married, you believe it's the most amazing feeling of your life that you finally found a partner to spend the "rest of your life with him," not knowing what awaits you along the way!!
Then here comes the most exciting news: you are pregnant with baby #1, #2, #3, #4, and so on and so forth!!
They are keeping you so insanely busy that you are forced to leave your 40-hour job to become a "happy-go-lucky full-time mom," not realizing what will be expected of you by no longer being the breadwinner!!
Here comes the surprises: "You get to stay up late to feed the newborn. You are the first one that gets up and gets the kiddos ready for breakfast and school, where you might also be responsible for drop off/pick up from school!!! You are back home, expected by husband to do laundry, cleaning the entire home, cooking, all by yourself because the hubby is working full time and is doing everything in his power flto pay the bills so that you can "happily enjoy your children and be a FULL-TIME STAY HOME MOM WITHOUT A PAYCHECK, PAID TIME OFF, WOTHOUT REST, WITHOUT HAVING FRIENDS OVER BECAUSE THE HOUSE IS A MESS 24-7 NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BENT YOURSELF BACKWARDS TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND ORGANIZED!! AND THE WORST OF ALL DON'T YOU DARE TO COMPLAIN NOR CRY TO HUBBY BECAUSE HE IS THE SOLE BREADWINNER!!!
