As in ex resident of groveganstan it's perfect place live if u have Financial stability but as a young person I do not recommend the school system there's not much to do there's a lackluster of employment opportunities unless you genuinely try your hardest but even then it's not enough
Thanks for the feedback. I would actually agree with most of your assessment with a few exceptions. I don't think Grovetown is a place one moves looking for career opportunities. Having said that, if someone is relocating for a job at Fort Gordon, Cyber Command. Or someone works remotely. There is a lot of reasons to consider Grovetown. Affordability, great schools, proximity to I-20, Evans, Augusta to name a few. Not to mention it is one of the fastest growing cities in Georgia. It had 35% population growth in the last 10yrs. Population growth translates into economic activity, job growth and increased home values.
Yeah, unfortunately population, job and economic growth come with growing pains. Traffic is usually one of them. All a matter of perspective though. Having lived all over the country in large and small cities / suburbs, I consider Grovetown traffic very mild and limited to specific areas and only at certain days and times. Usually before and after school / work.
Lived around Augusta most of my life. Worked in "downtown" Grovetown over a decade ago. It was literally nothing but a giant trailer park. They've really cleaned it up. But the traffic is terrible.
Yeah, Grovetown has changed a lot in the last 10-15 yrs for sure. Growth does come with complications and traffic is always one of those things. Unfortunately infrastructure always lags population growth. Having said that, Grovetown is a walk in the park compared to some of the areas we cover. From the building of the Georgia Railroad, which travels through the city until at least the 1860s, the community was known as "Belair". The city was chartered by the Georgia Legislature and officially incorporated on January 1, 1881. The name of the small village purportedly came from the old Grove Baptist Church that was founded in 1808. A poet famous in the post-Civil War era, Paul Hamilton Hayne, moved to Copse Hill in the Parham Road area in the 1860s. He solicited the United States Postal Service to establish the Grovetown post office. The first U.S. mail service was inaugurated on September 28, 1877, with Charles Clifford as postmaster. Mr. Clifford was also the train depot agent and the owner of the corner store. - Wikipedia
These houses are flimsy and made no better than a double wide. My house is brick and built in 1970 and is the first home ever built in Goshen Plantation.
I love old brick ranch homes. Especially on a basement. Sounds like you got a good one. I'm just glad my double wide isn't sitting on wheels anymore. I used to hate when it would start rolling. Thanks for tuning in.

This is why the best kept secret in living near Augusta is
South Augusta. This is the only place left for developers.
Ew, no to south Augusta. Schools are terrible, and the atmosphere is sub par at best.
But Chicago, Illinois (I am a 3rd generation Chicago native) is MUCH worse. Depending where you live in Chicago.
