Hasselblad make a good camera, but after spending time with the Phase One XC40, the XC40 is just in another league. Its build, software and image quality is far superior. But $60,000 more superior is the choose of the user. Cheers
Impressive camera!! I had seen you and camera in use at Tunnel view looking at the simplicity compared to my bag of Nikon gear. Looks like an excellent tool of the trade.
It’s amazing how the simplicity of the Phase One XC 40 lets me focus on creativity rather than managing gear. Tunnel View is such an inspiring location-perfect for putting any camera through its paces! Nikon makes fantastic gear too, and each tool has its strengths. At the end of the day, it’s all about capturing that perfect moment. Hope your shots turned out great! Cheers
Well if your profession and if you want to be the best, sometimes you need the best equipment. Again this XC40 is just in another league. Its build, software and image quality is far superior than anything I have worked with. But $60,000 more superior is the choose of the user. Cheers
Image averaging, it s 'cool to have it in-camera for sure but you know you can do it with every cameras .take multiple shots and average them in photoshop. . But great cam and great video.
Thank you. You're right, it be done all in PS, but like I mentioned in the video the IQ4 digital back does it all and give you a RAW File. I'm not sure how you shoot, but I mostly do long exposures. This frame averaging is going to save me weight in glass and a ton of time PhotoShop. Instead of layers images in PS after my travels (which would be almost all my images). Its all done in the digital and I can get onto processing, saving massive amounts of time. Cheers
@@cheynewalls yes sure its great i understand i shoot hasselblad x2d now, i travel light too, one body, one or 2 lenses, and sometimes when i want to go long exposures, if i have no filters, i take Many images and i average them in photoshop. Just saying that for people who want to take long exposures without any filters.
There is a significant difference between the postprocessing solution and the built in version, especially when you're aiming for seconds of exposure. Once you manage to set the exposure to 1/4 or longer, the frame averaging becomes continuous, meaning that there is almost zero gap between the frames (a few microseconds while the given line is read out). When I'm photographing water movement, it is super convenient to dial in the exact exposure time which would produce the image I'm after. But you're right, for longer exposure times it is possible to achieve similar results by capturing many photographs and merge them in post. I did it with the IQ3 100MP sensor quite a few times. My only issue was that PS was unable to process such large amount of data on my MacBook Pro, it just simply froze. So I had to utilize other means - imagemagick.
@@telemaq76 And that is a good solution. I personally need filters or for it to be done in camera as I'm pretty much living on the road and working off a laptop. Also I can never get the sky gradation looking right when there a trees in the foreground protruding into the sky. Cheers
@@tamasnemeth2161 i do understand the issue to process large files. It s always better to do maximum in caméra for sûre. But most photographers have 24 mpx or 45 and dont know the trick of blending exposures when you dont have filters
Just goes to show, if the light is not there doesn’t matter what camera you have.
Its all about the light, Cheers
I’m sure I could mess up the shots from that camera even more than the one I currently have. 😂
I thought the same thing when I first started using it. haha, Cheers
Makes Hasselblad look like a really great deal...

I've ordered it... plus a spare ... just in case ....
Oh wow, it is an amazing camera, enjoy.

I can't think of any reason why anyone would ever spend that much on a camera....
