I see two flaws in that story, but maybe there're some details in the original version that couldn't be included in that adaptation. - IT made us, humans, feel pain (both physical and psychological). Then why does other species feel pain too? Either it's an inconsistency in that story, or it means that IT infects other species too (at _least_ all vertebrates) - which means that wiping humanity won't get rid of IT. - Killing all infected humans won't deprive IT from sustenance, as said earlier: IT feeds on the _eternal_ pain that human beings suffer in death. IT would just have billions of pain sources suddenly available. No new source after that, but really, billions of dead humans suffering for all eternity seems an acceptable trade for IT. And who knows what IT could be capable of once that much fed..? EDIT: words
Well IT would have eternal food from the dead he wouldn’t gain anymore. There’s already billions of people dead, a 6-7 billion more wouldn’t make IT incredibly more strong but if he could continue to feast on alive people he would have a infinite amount more food sources at least until humanity goes extinct or just dies out. Once he can’t feed on new humans he will be unable to gain anymore power after the extermination is over. Plus the foundation’s goal was not to kill IT but to free humanity from IT after all the infected are dead humanity can regrow uninflected without pain and capable of so much more like how they made scp soldiers into statues like peanut, they were still fundamentally human and still had a purpose. Without IT they were able to unlock many secrets about many SCP’s. As for the animals i don’t know, maybe the foundation was just killing everything that can feel pain, maybe hunger wasn’t a thing without IT, maybe many things we think are essential like water, food, blood, and oxygen were creations from IT.
It said on the video hat humans wasnt supposed to have pain it didnt say other species wasn't and IT was connected only through humans psychology and made them have pain it didn't mention (to my knowledge it didnt)it connected to other species so in conclusion the other species already had pain
So, could we say that even tho the plague doctor doesn't know the details around "It" excistance he also sees who are infected by pain? Like he makes zombies unable to feel right? That means that's his own way of curing the disease that spreads around humanity
@@swaim6995 yeah but like, he is a doctor, he may be trying to see how the disease works before trying to do anything about it Like, if you go to a doctor for a cold he won't just be like "you have to be euthanasied" he ask you questions to see if it's something different like just a soar throat or stuff Idk i just though about it
the thing is tho, a cross test happened between SCP 682 and the plague doctor. He said "i have never seen someone with this much pestilence" which completely debunks the theory as 682 is the only creature free from IT so he shouldn't have the pestilence in the first place as you have stated
Okay I’m still very confused about something. In the original what happens at the video, they said knowing about the anomaly overwrite your afterlife. But the 05 that died had no idea. Also, I’m pretty sure there are other anomalies that confirm an afterlife.
That's the thing about the SCP Foundation canon. It's not designed for every single piece to fit in a single defined picture. It is chaotic and paradoxical. An attempt was made once to make everything fit neatly and it resulted in... Why spoil it? Have a look at SCP 4010.
SCP isn't consistenly canon, so it's easier to say there's a multiverse, and not all universe's share the exact same SCPs. For instance, SCP 173 apparently didn't come from our universe. It was brought here by their Foundation
@@pulsefel9210 Leave it up to a single SCP to turn 682 into a tragic hero. All the while reinventing the entire lore in the process. That's GOOD writing!

This gives me a revelation So scp 682 is disgusted by "it" feeding off of pain, but theroeticly, if someone doesn't feel pain, then 682 wouldn't find them disgusting... And one being I know who doesn't feel pain is scp 053, the one person that makes scp 682 docile
Wow, this really puts things into perspective I actually find myself agreeing with the SCP foundation and SCP-682 Removing the infected so the remaining and the future humans can live properly
I agree with 682 not because of the bigger good but because I want him to destroy humanity...... The damn lizard has suffered most and always misunderstood
@@iamstupid323 He deserved it. He was found killing farmers because they were "disgusting". In all his security Breach attempts, all his termination attempts, all the time he has stayed alive, he never thought about giving up
I think it's interesting that instead of giving the cure to "it" to everyone, the SCP foundation decided to kill everything instead Edit: Also, they found out people feel pain even after death, so it's completely pointless in the end anyway
In the orginal tale, it states, "'“We could only disseminate the cure to our organization. Releasing it on a wider scale would have caused the Entity to notice us. So we must now exterminate all those still infected by it.'"
@@edwinhuang9244 I also think that the entity represented more than pain. I think it also represented Empathy. Though the SCP foundation may have not realized that themselves. Once someone is cured, they lose not only their sense of pain, but any and all regard for life in general. So if the leaders of the SCP foundation first cured themselves before moving forwards, then they wouldn't have even considered a more humane option.
I kinda want to see what would happen if pietro was stopped before resetting the universe. Would the entity manifest? Will the foundation battle against it? Will other Scp's join in on the fight? If so, which one's?
It's actually thought that the entity _did_ manifest. There's a scene late in the story where Pietro watches Foundation personnel attacking this weird stretched out figure surrounded by distorted space. The interpretation I've seen is that this was *It,* forced out of the psychosphere by the near destruction of humanity. Pietro runs so we don't get to see what happened next.
A theory I read on Reddit explains that "It" isn't the problem that needs to be wiped out, it's what humanity becomes without the presence of "it". Killing humanity was not a mercy for humanity but a mercy for everything else if "It" were to leave humanity upon becoming to advanced that we would destroy all other life in the universe.
So the idea was to kill off humanity cuz there was a chance that IT may leave one day and humans will turn into the Borg. The same logic could be apllyed to several other scps so by that logic the Foundation should very often just kill humanity on What ifs bases. Yeah i never liked 5000 cuz the logic behind the Foundation actions made no sense. I`ll assume the ones that got to look at project D got some sort of memetic hazard effect on them and essentialy corupted the Foundation into unleashing hell by mind controlling the ones they could get their hands on and kill the rest of their staff and the public. F being mindfucked into doing what they did makes more sense than them doing it cuz its the right thing.
This has to be the best entry in the SCP Foundation I ever heard of. My favorite used to be "This Thing A Quiet Madness Made", but this easily tops it. Although I suppose the comparison is unfair, due to 3935 being a singular SCP, while this is a tale and multiple SCPs
@Steve Well If I remember correctly you can avoid "IT" if you sincerely believe in another after life (doesn't matter which one you just can't be an atheist apparently) but since your consciousness never ends that kind of raises the question do you have to continue believing after your dead? Because I imagine an eternity of maintaining a delusion might get to you after a while
But considering 049 says "as clean as it is, and with such little trace of the pestilence" when referring to the foundation in its first interview, it wouldn't make sense for the pestilence to be pain. Also that would mean 049 would try to cure anyone he comes across, which is not really what it seems to be doing.
I’m having a hard time accepting the idea that humans aren’t supposed to feel pain. Pain is a protective measure to alert us of injury, on the psychological level pain avoidance is a huge part of human behavior. It keeps us from taking unnecessary risks. If there is a parasite which feeds off of pain exists in our collective subconscious it would convince us to seek out pain. So it would be connected to the endorphin release when we experience pain. “It” is just a BDSM monster.
I think IT is both a bad guy and a good guy. Like scp 682 in scp 5000. IT makes us feel pain but as a trade off it makes us feel pain when our body has been injured so we know it and can stop the injury from getting worse. Scp-682 sees IT as disgusting because while it can get injured it regenerates therefor it doesnt need pain and it might even be disgusting to feel pain for it.
There are people who are born unable to feel any pain. They would commonly find themselves walking on broken legs or unknowingly having broken other limbs and never knew it.
I wonder what happened to SCP 682 during the When Day breaks Event? I mean SCP 096 died being killed by SCP 001 which means When Day Breaks could also kill the Reptil.
Just because 096 died does not mean 682 will Their durrability is completely different 096 has an "indestructible" skeleton 682 has plot armor- ops i ment to say Adaptation abilities
This makes the story so much worse. How does killing humanity rid “it” from the psychosphere if those killed effected by “it” will continue to be conscious after death? They’re trying to defeat “it” but in reality wouldnt they be making “it” stronger
I’m guessing it would be because it is preventing new humans from being born while making the remaining ones immune. Sure, it’ll get a boost, but that’s the last it’s gonna get: afterwards, that power is gonna drain very quickly.
It just seems like it would all work faster if the memetic were released worldwide. Think of how much pain that was happening during the apocalypse. It was probably incredibly strong then.
I think that in project "Pneuma" SCP Foundation encountered Grandpapa Nurgle! This old good warp creature who just wants for all living things to thrive. He just wants to bring harmony into the world!
@@theblacklotus3475 scp-2718, what happens after death: basically it's the realisation that when you doe, you don't go to heaven, hell or one of the verious other afterlifes of your religion, but instead your soul stays bound to your body and you are forced to experience everything that happens to it as it slowly decays.
@@אורוידןפלד-י3ק Ah, gotcha. Sorry, hard to keep the numbers straight. And frankly, considering 049's attempting to bring the dead back to life, it seems like that's the intention. He's trying to remove the effects of 2718.
Why would killing everyone work to purge the entity when it feeds even more off of the dead as stated in this exact video? This doesn't track very well honestly.
@@savagesavie1701 The scp foundation couldve just distributed the cure and not commit mass genocide lmao. Also wouldnt explain alot of the ghost scps too.
I think to kill off food supply. It’s like imagine if something feed on the dead bodies of humans. If you kill all humans you give it a shit ton of food but after it eats it all there is no more. It will starve to death
Yeah I also think this may have to do with the plague doctor and the pestilence. The pestilence being it and the plague doctor curing them. It also explains how he interacted with 682 when they were cross tested. However if IT affects everyone then why does 049 not try to cure everyone?
Aswell as scp 729-j but not sure if its a joke thaumiel class. They did a test on scp 682 with scp 729-j. The test log goes with... " Long story short, we reclassed SCP-682 as Neutralized. You don't even want to fucking know how this little fucker killed it. - Dr. Foxfield "
Before looking up the other videos and reading the articles, I honestly thought SCP-5000 was an extremely twisted, warped, and contorted experiment approved by the O-5 Council to check and see what would occur & happen during an 'End-of-The-Word Scenario' and record, analyze, and monitor the data for research & information, with the full guarantee of the world restarting, therefore it was approved by the Ethics Committee 🤷♂️
I always think of IT as the link between the SCP universe and the righters, readers and anything covered in SCP-001 the database. The story of SCP-5000 is an alternative way of dealing with us than SCP-5999 - Instead of targeting us directly, they instead target themselves. SCP-5000 is literally plot armour in every sense, the righter and readers turning Pietro into an avatar and creating a whole story round him. SCP-682 knows there is no free will and is unkillable because we decide it is. The "not suppose to feel pain" references how they finally understand they aren't real. No one exists outside the foundation or groups of interest unless they are being used as a body count or as the victim of something the righter has created. The "don't be like that, Tejani. Thats IT talking" is referencing the righter is making them say that. Some people have referenced how IT could also be the plague doctors pestilence and this also fits in, he only ended up attacking the Dr after he had been in the narrative for too long, when there was a bigger connection to IT. Also his attempts to try and find a cure fail because he doesn't work on anyone that has had a story about them - just a nameless body.
There are some things that don’t make sense here: 1: SCP-2718 only affects those that know about it, and if my theory is correct believe it. {Belief is key} 2: SCP-2922 and SCP-3922 as well as a number of other SCPs refute this claim. If “IT” was really infecting everyone on the planet then everyone would need to be aware of 2718 which would constitute a mass security breach. 3: Why would they not try to cure everyone else on the planet that was still alive without them knowing? Killing everyone just gives “IT” an all you can eat buffet. 4: If SCP-862 is truly the biblical serpent that tempted mankind into the eating the fruit of knowledge like he claimed in his interaction with gate guardian then it was HIM that put “IT” into the minds of humanity. In conclusion: THANK GOD PIETRO SAVED US!!!!
For no.3 i think it because while there are many scp that can kill all human in a single snap. As a story , it won t be mystery/horrifying enough to win the scp 5000 award. While scp 5000 is my favorite , there sure are a lot of pointless suffering in it.
2718 was labeled an info-hazard due to the o5’s fear of accepting that humanity awaited this fate, not because it’s based on belief. The cure also only works on those strong of mind, which is why only certain personnel could have it administered, along with the impossibility of reaching every human alive.
@@The_Shape_ That's only for this universe. For other universes SCP 2718 isn't the afterlife for most. This includes End of Death where 3448, the sequel to 2718, contradicts Rodgers' afterlife. The O5 head recognized it as a cognitio hazard precisely because the O5s were freaking out offering solutions that made no sense and some didn't even relate to the issue itself. Plus, belief is key is asked by the creator of the story. Rodger likely got that afterlife because they restored every atom to his body when they revived him. However for the 5000 universe, SCP 2718 is what happens to EVERYONE. The suffering IT feeds off of
Interesting. Though one wonders why they didn't turn to some of the other solutions first. Maybe God or the Witch Child could do something. Or an alliance with the Church of the Broken God or some other GoI. After all, wouldn't the dead just feed it more?
682 was a good guy the entire time! A plot twist to end all plot tiwsts. Wait... "IT" still was able to feed of the dead right? Unless he has the ability to truly kill people saving them from such a painful eternity.
Man, I love stuff like this. Like you always know that 682 must have 'some' reason to be as hateful as they have been. But not really knowing helps you to assume that it's not a good enough reason. Then you get slapped with what it is and then you're like "oh my god they're the good one in all this" love that feeling.
682 is still the bad guy. He never told humanity the truth. He takes pleasure in bloodshed. The Foundation and him both find a cure for pain but choose to commit omnicide instead.
O man. I can't tell you how many hours I thought about what the CURE was. This was a really good follow up to to SCP- 5000. On a side note, thank yall soooooo much for creating such wonderful and engaging content. Every video that pops up is so wonderful and gives my mind a much needed break from the day to day grind. Now that I've said that soooooo....about the pestilence. Yeah just what the hell is the good DR. Trying to cure.....
I feel like we’re missing a side to this story, what does IT think of all of this, it’s implied that IT doesn’t just allow the concept of pain, but empathy, and perhaps even more. Clearly IT has some inherent sentience if they’re able to guide Pietro Wilson to the reality reset point. I’d go as far as to pose the idea that IT’s reality reset might even have eliminated all instances of SCP-2718. After all, there are other SCPs that suggest another life after death much more mysterious than 2718, and without the horrific reality of 2718, the foundation would have no real reason to pursue the elimination of IT and humanity itself.
Not to mention 'It' fought the Foundation in the story near the end. I wonder if they managed to kill 'It' finally right before Pietro reset everything... creating a new reality where 'It' was dead and 2718 no longer true. Or the very act of resetting erased 'It' and 2718 from reality. Thus when they looked into the pyshosphere... they saw nothing. "It' was no longer real in the new reality. And all the verified afterlifes proved 2718 was no longer true. I always hold to the interpretation that "It' was defeated... if not it makes everything else subservient to it.. the Scarlet King loves pain and suffering.... would that make him just a pawn of "It"?
As great as this is, I still think the original scp-682 which permenantly adapts rather than temporarily adapts to be a much more interesting and scary scp.
Nah he has to have some weakness no one loves a invicable and unstopable charcter they are boaring bevuase no one will ever be a challenge to them. SO lame
I’m going to chalk that up to multiple writers creating SCP-682’s story. There was a story about sending SCP-682 through a portal, but what came back was another universe’s worse SCP-682. Next story, it was back to normal. It returning to normal is probably a measure to keep SCP-682 locked away, otherwise it’d retain most of the breach adaptations, and be impossible to contain.
@@ghostgamingxd7881 Its equally unstoppable to the current scp, the difference being that nobody will challenge it because it is too dangerous, which is valid. Secure, contain, protect.
I love this particolar video of yours for the Absolute cinism of its story, which casting aside the paranormal tems looks like a description of everyday life in the last 3 Years or so...
This is an alternate explanation, one that tries to combine two scps even though SCP 2718 is a infohazard, it doesn't effect everyone or the countless scp ghosts. It doesn't have to make sense. Many alternate explanation stories don't, like 173 being an alien that dropped his laser pistol XD
Not like we'd be alive to witness "It"'s death, though I suppose the fact that the infinite pain after death would end not too long after it started is a decent consolation prize
There's only one question you guys left unanswered: Pietro resetted the Universe by taking the Anti-meme into the chamber of another SCP. Its never fully explained what this other SCP is, and even though most people theorize its the physical form of It, there is still a lot of ambiguity around it, mainly the fact it means the Foundation had It in containment long before they even knew it existed, or that the entity is somehow both metaphysical and exists as a solid prisoner of the Foundation.
“And even more terrible termination attempts than you can possibly imagine.” My question is what can possibly be worse than being shredded on an ATOMIC level? Better yet, how do you even survive something like that? Every single molecule in your body is gone.
cuz the writer said so. When you go about SCP one must remember its not done by a closed group of writers or one person but rather from random people on the net that make up this stories. For example 682 has several different stories that dont make sense to each other and cant be true in a canon base line. I wish the whole SCP gets a proper group of people that can retcon half the shit and basicly make an entire timeline of events and establish some structure. Thats why i like the stories that are in several parts cuz it provides some lore and actual story not just one offs where people can basicly say 682 is the serpent from Eden while someone else says its an ancient alien race of lizards.

So for my two cents if i got it right They killed all people so that "it" would disapear. Would that mean also that everyone that died until then is also free of the curse and also means that everyone suffers until the last human is dead? SCP 682 tried to help? And how did the scp soldiers lost there pain. IT was still presnt
I think everyone would be free from the curse after IT’s extermination. And yes all the people previously dead would still feel pain from the afterlife until the last infected person was indeed killed. Answering your question on how the scp soldiers lost their pain, they were exposed to a memetic phrase that would free them from IT’s influence “harden your hearts”, phrase that was showed to them in an email sent from the O5 Council to all Foundation staff.
it totally sounds like it. It is weird since it was a reset or maybe some sort of time traveling but as far as we know nothing even removing it from excistince effects it
But… How would killing everyone defeat it? It’d just be able to feed on the countless souls it’d accumulated over the millennia. Killing everyone would just put a halt to its source of new food, not starve it, right?
main theory is that when humanity is gone and only the immune humans are left, it will be ejected from the Pychosphere and enter the real world where the Cured Foundation personnel will attempt to destroy it with conventional means, ie the battle between "It' and the Foundation that Pietro witnessed. Honestly I'd wager that "It' would just annihilate the cured foundation and find survivors and restart humanity with a new religious origin story.
just had a bizzare thought, what if "It" is the pestilence that SCP-049 is trying so desperately to cure. It would make sense since "It" has infected all of humanity, but apart from that i have no proof. Also now that I think about it 049 didn't think everyone was infected, but it was just a random thought
Suffering and pain is an awful thing But the moments where it is gone Happiness, laughter, fun, friends, family. Makes it all worth it Despite the foundation thinking that removing suffering would helps us. It would not Pain only make our happy moments feel even better. Because we forget about it. without suffering, there is no happiness. Peitro and scp 5000 did the right thing
The very idea that we aren't meant to feel pain is one of the dumbest ideas in the SCP verse. All beings feel pain, not just humans, and what we would potentially become without the feeling of pain to hold us back wpuld be far worse that what pain makes us (a near perfect example is the pain-free soldiers in the Inheritance cycle series, warriors who were magicked to not feel any form of pain, and would literally throw themselves at their enemies, cackling like madmen as they were torn apart)

Wait a minute, so all this time, the metaphysical parasite that made humanity know and show pain could possibly be SCP-579 and he made Pietro Wilson deliver the reset button that is SCP-055?
I think it needs to be crystal clear which universe each situation is taking place in. Because some of these do and don't happen depending on how you look at it
there are no designation for different universes in scp, most stories take place in 1 main universe until one tale contradicts the other it is considered to be happpening in other universe i think.
Everyone underestimates 682s intelligence and knowledge. Its regeneration and adaptability, which goes so far as to adapt/rewrite fait to survive, take all the spotlight. But 682 is one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable scp out there. It may not be a genious. Far from it. But its way way beyond average intelligence for a human. And way WAY beyond the intelligence of a common beast or scp.
I'm honestly interested in what would happen in a world following SCP 5000's success. Specifically, they do have plenty of ways to repopulate the world, SCP 2000 comes to mind, and without IT around would they ultimately decide to recreate the sensation of pain and empathy for survival purposes anyway? What happens after death in a world where it hasn't been hijacked by sadistic monster? How would this new foundation, ultimately stained with the blood of the entire human race and lacking the guidance of an entity that while sadistic, would do anything to keep it's food supply alive operate? Does someone need to take their place? These are a number of incredibly interesting questions that could ultimately lead to a more hope filled answer and potentially evidence to suggest SCP 5000 was ultimately unnecessary with the right knowledge or even ultimately worse than just leaving IT in charge. I don't know I know the SCP universe is an incredibly morbid place but if continued human survival is its goal than our success on that same wave length. You know, we probably just need to... Enlighten it on some better after death practices, potentially with a Jack Bright held gun to its head.
@@ayo4773 Ah, well admittedly you might have to do some multiverse shinanigans where some universes caught wind and investigated. Then went a similar route with some slight variations to make it work. Like one refusing to believe humanity can't be freed from this thing.
The thing is that scp 682 is supposedly a child of the Scarlet King, and the Scarlet King became aware of the pain of existence when the other gods weren't. So maybe the Scarlet King was fighting against IT from the start and the reason he has a focus on suffering is to train pain and empathy out of all conscious beings (the things IT feeds on?)
They don't because while launching the shuttle could explode, due to 682 or technological issues, and he would fall down causing tens or hundreds of thousands of deaths
because it prevents people from learning about the suffering, which is the source of suffering. when you learn about the suffering, you will experience the suffering.
Theory: Scp-049 maybe turn humans to zombies because zombies can’t feel pain so basically scp-049 is curing them for pain so scp-049 is trying to defeat IT . That mean …… pestilence = pain
Apparently, Dr. Bright was also immune to the effects of (something I forgot), which might be why 682 remembers what Pietro did, because Bright was fused with 682
It also doesn’t make sense that It caused us to feel pain. Pain is a caution system informing us that our body has been damaged or is being damaged. There ARE people who cannot feel pain (there’s a genetic defect which prevents the generation of pain receivers), and those people hate their condition because they can tear their feet and skin to shreds without even noticing it. If their appendix bursts, they won’t be able to tell. Their liver fails, no way of knowing until they suddenly stop functioning. Pain is a necessity to life. It teaches us what not to do, and what our current problems are. Furthermore, this log conflicts with a significant number of other SCPs. How does this work with Dr. Bright? The Soul extraction machine? What about all the entities which feed on souls? When Day Breaks? I have a theory. This thing lives within the human psycho sphere, and has been proven to be able to manipulate the psyche of human personnel. It tells people to “harden their hearts”, something which is known to be a source of evil according to Christian faith. This dream demon is a deceiver, trying to destroy humanity and I would likely guess that the entity which has been called “the serpent of the garden of Eden” is simply one of its minions. “It” could very well be the devil himself.
They won’t believe him and they would think that he’s just lying so he can just kill more people , a percentage of people might believe him, but other people might think that their crazy.
So if SCP-682 still remembers -- in fact has known most of the truth the whole time but now has the benefit of knowing the solution too -- *why doesn't he just tell the SCP and they try again?* As many times as it takes. Hell, next time they just make the reset button unreachable.
@@ICNHH But thats not how things work tho? If they founf out they would do the samething, and its not like they can't find out. Hell the only way it could never happen again was if "IT" was erased so it couldn't ever be found again.

Honestly you can't blame Pietro. As for the animals i don’t know, maybe the foundation was just killing everything that can feel pain, maybe hunger wasn’t a thing without IT, maybe many things we think are essential like water, food, blood, and oxygen were creations from IT.
my biggest problem is the whole dexisting in body after death thing just completely ignores the afterlifes that exist in the SCP world

Well if it's a choice between a quick death and eternal suffering the choice is pretty obvious
Well of course the foundation losing is the bad end. Or did you mean winning?

But considering 049 says "as clean as it is, and with such little trace of the pestilence" when referring to the foundation in its first interview, it wouldn't make sense for the pestilence to be pain. Also that would mean 049 would try to cure anyone he comes across, which is not really what it seems to be doing.
He creates more pain by killing them.
This, like the theory of what ""IT" is are varied, I personally think "IT" is actually a good thing, it's literally our morality, it's our soul

Same here. This reason would be much better that the reason from this video.
There are some things that don’t make sense here:
1: SCP-2718 only affects those that know about it, and if my theory is correct believe it. {Belief is key}
2: SCP-2922 and SCP-3922 as well as a number of other SCPs refute this claim.

2718 was labeled an info-hazard due to the o5’s fear of accepting that humanity awaited this fate, not because it’s based on belief. The cure also only works on those strong of mind, which is why only certain personnel could have it administered, along with the impossibility of reaching every human alive.

That's only for this universe. For other universes SCP 2718 isn't the afterlife for most. This includes End of Death where 3448, the sequel to 2718, contradicts Rodgers' afterlife.
And all the verified afterlifes proved 2718 was no longer true. main theory is that when humanity is gone and only the immune humans are left, it will be ejected from the Pychosphere and enter the real world where the Cured Foundation personnel will attempt to destroy it with conventional means, ie the battle between "It' and the Foundation that Pietro witnessed. Honestly I'd wager that "It' would just annihilate the cured foundation and find survivors and restart humanity with a new religious origin story.
Yeah, the writer for this did not think q lot of things through.
it is to terminate sick and make new humans free
They didn't have a choice in the matter. "Harden your hearts."
imagine the 682 and 049 tag team though
Hi!! Could you guys consider doing SCP-5391 next? I’m sure it would make for an awesome video!
just had a bizzare thought, what if "It" is the pestilence that SCP-049 is trying so desperately to cure. It would make sense since "It" has infected all of humanity, but apart from that i have no proof. Also now that I think about it 049 didn't think everyone was infected, but it was just a random thought
Suffering and pain is an awful thing
But the moments where it is gone
Happiness, laughter, fun, friends, family. Makes it all worth it
Despite the foundation thinking that removing suffering would helps us. It would not
Pain only make our happy moments feel even better. Because we forget about it.
without suffering, there is no happiness.
Peitro and scp 5000 did the right thing
I agree
The very idea that we aren't meant to feel pain is one of the dumbest ideas in the SCP verse. All beings feel pain, not just humans, and what we would potentially become without the feeling of pain to hold us back wpuld be far worse that what pain makes us (a near perfect example is the pain-free soldiers in the Inheritance cycle series, warriors who were magicked to not feel any form of pain, and would literally throw themselves at their enemies, cackling like madmen as they were torn apart)
@@gard3boi311 I love that series
@@gard3boi311 Maybe their connected but pietro and scp 5000 reseted everything before it could happen plus this is the pestilence the doc trying so hard to cure.
@@michaelwhitmire9015 Wtf you just shtd? just stf up
If suffering after death is torture, then seeing SCP-096's face is a pleasure.
I feel like killing everyone would do the opposite of what it was intended to do, as people would feel a lot more pain when they die.
i mean its like if alot seed were forced fed onto you sure you will not be hungry but all the seed is gone no human no human breeding no human breeding no more pain in 10000 milenia pain is gone
That's a smart thought if he keeps us in constant agony after death it wouldn't matter if all humans died. He would live off our souls after death...
@@matthewhecker8576 that’s if he can…
As far as I understand it, It lives in our minds, but feeds on our pain. Therefore killing all infected would kill It. Kind of compare it with humans needing air And food. Take away your air and all Bic Macs in the world wouldn't help you.
@@danielwiemann1210 Eh, makes sense.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an SCP video that made me go “….oooooooh my god I get it” more than the revelation at @8:50
Wait a minute, so all this time, the metaphysical parasite that made humanity know and show pain could possibly be SCP-579 and he made Pietro Wilson deliver the reset button that is SCP-055?
Wow....I never thought I'd be on the lizard's side.
I'm curious, what did this alternate timeline Foundation do to more friendly SCPs like 999 or 343?
Terminated
@@MemeLord-ho2cq NOOOOO
@@MemeLord-ho2cq How on Earth would they terminate 343?
@@MemeLord-ho2cq yeah sure 343 got terminated
Couldn't you just wake up SCP-169 and through SCP-682 at it and than quickly leave the planet
I think it needs to be crystal clear which universe each situation is taking place in. Because some of these do and don't happen depending on how you look at it
there are no designation for different universes in scp, most stories take place in 1 main universe until one tale contradicts the other it is considered to be happpening in other universe i think.
The amount of contradictions in this story makes the story dreadfully bad
I miss this type of videos, instead of the recent compilations 😢
Everyone underestimates 682s intelligence and knowledge.
Its regeneration and adaptability, which goes so far as to adapt/rewrite fait to survive, take all the spotlight.
But 682 is one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable scp out there.
It may not be a genious. Far from it.
But its way way beyond average intelligence for a human.
And way WAY beyond the intelligence of a common beast or scp.
Ah yes, what a night to have a massive existential crisis to have...
The SCP foundation destroyed scp 2000 in scp 5000 story
My theory is that the church of the broken god actually knew about this, why else would they want a god of mechanical parts to turn them into robots?
Scp 5000 is definentaly one of my favourite scps its just nice!
I can't believe that the foundation hasn't launched 682 into space.
It would probably just develop some stuff that lets it fly back
They don't because while launching the shuttle could explode, due to 682 or technological issues, and he would fall down causing tens or hundreds of thousands of deaths
@@Jli777 Also kinda undercuts yourself to contain something if you literally throw it into space and say "hope that handles itself.
Is "IT" what the Plague doctor tries to cure
ayo
Congrats your first
We really need this to be made into a movie
So IT is feeding from suffering? If after death peoples feel even more suffering, then how does killing them help against IT?
@@SwedishBroManDude but it’s feeeimmg on the souls?
because your supposed to forget like a "wild animal"...
to be honest i think i understand it
Yes but what about the dead humans that are uncured ? I mean don’t they still suffer after death ?
because it prevents people from learning about the suffering, which is the source of suffering. when you learn about the suffering, you will experience the suffering.
The story of SPC 5000 got me hooked
Mee too
Theory: Scp-049 maybe turn humans to zombies because zombies can’t feel pain so basically scp-049 is curing them for pain so scp-049 is trying to defeat IT .
That mean …… pestilence = pain
"the scp foundation has little pestilence" or smth like that
-scp 049
Maybe some anomaly made it so the pestilence sinks in the site.
I’m not sure though.
Apparently, Dr. Bright was also immune to the effects of (something I forgot), which might be why 682 remembers what Pietro did, because Bright was fused with 682
Honestly I stile think the foundation just went insane in this one
Why doesnt scp 682 just explain to the foundation ''it'' and try to make them take his side
They won’t believe him and they would think that he’s just lying so he can just kill more people , a percentage of people might believe him, but other people might think that their crazy.
what if that "it" is the pestilence the plague doctor is talking about?
So if SCP-682 still remembers -- in fact has known most of the truth the whole time but now has the benefit of knowing the solution too -- *why doesn't he just tell the SCP and they try again?* As many times as it takes. Hell, next time they just make the reset button unreachable.
i think its cuz by pietro joining 055 with 579, it prevents it from ever happening again
@@ICNHH But thats not how things work tho? If they founf out they would do the samething, and its not like they can't find out. Hell the only way it could never happen again was if "IT" was erased so it couldn't ever be found again.
@@CM-hx5dp idk man thats just what the video said
Scp-999: let me introduce myself

how did humanity survive before the scp foundantion if in scp 5000 just letting all of them loose destroys humanity?
I like muffins 🙂
Agreed
I absolutely love these videos
⚠️⚠️⚠️
So I have a theory, what if the plague Doctor calls this very same parasite "The pestilence" and tries to cure them without totally killing them!
That actually makes a lot more sense to me now.
Dang it Petra Wilson 😓
Honestly you can't blame Pietro. He only wanted to survive and wanted answers, and in the latter parts, he was moved by an unseen forced, meaning that IT was already doing his works
It would be for the best if you cover a certain SCP of Lust and Hate too, and the eventual match against IT that saved us forever.
What is it tho?
SCP Researchers : Alright, 682, you're free to snack on everyone.
SCP-682 : It's a suprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.
Why doesn't the foundation stop killing 682 and start rehabilating it for good?
As explained in the video. The foundation forgot about project Nemo because the timeline got reversed
@@KilluaYT420 oh. Ok
@@KilluaYT420 This is a alternate theory.
They didn't distribute the cure, thousands of scp ghosts aren't effected by the death infohazard, and the humans 'cured' turn into complete psychopaths.
The death infohazard started with the 05 council member that died with some unique anomalous knowledge.
So yeah, this actually doesn't make much sense trying to make those two projects related.
A nice alternate explanation, but doesn't hold much water.
The most known explanation is that IT is HOPE, the one thing the Scarlet King hates most, and is also the final monster in Pandora's Box that keeps us human.
Honestly, the idea that humans should not feel pain is just silly.
Hey if you just told us “what happens after death” that means it’ll happen to us…. I’ll need some amnestics please.
