yeah i agree, i stopped playing probably 2 weeks or so into wipe and just came back and after a few games i realized almost everyone had legendary or purple gear but none of it was good and while i still like to pvp, i also like to go in geared. but when every person im going against have similar lvl stats to me but way shittier gear its almost not worth it. running into shit legendary and unique gear sets in total worth less than a singular good item
A lot of this problem would be fixed if they cleaned up the random roll pools. Too many garbage stats and starts unrelated to that piece of gear, so even most legendaries end up useless 9 times out of 10.

This new update is not even worth playing. They took something I fell in love with and crapped all over it. I loved the gear disparity and outplayed players with gear way better than mine.
Throwing specific class things aside, this game has pvp, pve, and loot as it's main pillars taht support it, and the interactions between these is what makes it interesting. When people post things for pve only lobbies, its cause they havent figured out that pve is super boring once you understand it and those lobbies would be ass since theres no risk once you recognize everything. This feels the same where theres pve and pvp but without risking gear or having any of it matter it makes the other aspects fall flat for the overall experience. It would be nice to bridge the gap a bit more, but everyone at epic level base is pretty extreme.
Ill be honest, all I see is Skinny Pete being a better player. Spacing, knowing when to punish etc. I think this patch will be good for the game long term, they just need to address the "why loot" aspect now, and perhaps heavily nerf Barb DEX to give them wider punish windows.

To be fair Pete used to do this on a daily basis without the patch. He was constantly just buying cheapest epic speed gear he could find, which if you think about it everything is epic now so he is literally just running his typical level of gear but with an extra 5 str to boot. Also everyone else that would be using legendaries and what not is now force to epic gear aswell. Skilled players will always make a balanced playing field qs an op bullshit. I cant wait to see the lorr absolutely destroy people with ranger

Lol thumbnail faked me out a bit but for sure laced turnshoes are light-years better than lightfoot boots right now. An additional 2 move speed over them (6 base + 5 from AGI) and part the fraction of AGI that improves dex/attack speed is so much better than just the flat move speed

I disagree with the changes to random mod rolls. Not being able to roll as much health or defensive stats on an item while also reducing every classes health by a flat 15 sucks. Now wizard, rogue, ranger and warlock can all get 1 shot by a barb in squire gear.
Imo, they shouldn't have done gear balance and the buff at the same time. Instead full send is fucking them over they have 1200 more negative reviews in 2 days
If they fix the movement speed meta somehow (But that seems like an impossibility apparently) and returned armour values or just reduced them slightly across the board, then maybe this update would be kinda okayish. No point in even entering a dungeon (Highroller at least) if you got less than 99% MS I find now. PDR is pointless with the armour nerfs. They could have done any number of things to reduce TTK without ruining the entire aspect of looting, is just implement ONE of 3 of the things they did. Increase weapon damage or reduce armour, or reduce health, but not all 3 at the same time. There's skill in being able to kill someone quickly, sure (Less of it when you can just gear check), but there's also skill in not dying, healing, then coming back and winning (More of this when being gear checked). But that's kinda fuckin hard to do when you get 2 shot 80% of the time in less than 2 seconds and can't run away from virtually anyone if you're not already a very good player. I won't be surprised when the game loses even more players, including people saying this is a great update because there's no real reward in killing someone. Their gear isn't worth jack diddly squat now when you just get the same gear from Squire, minus a few crumbs of extra stats. Since the update came out the number of players has dropped by 6,000 steam, that's also across a weekend when there should be more people on and playing. Also I think Pete said something like "Where are the barbs?" in another video saying he was the only one. OCE (Sydney) servers, out of 10 solo high roller matches, the average per game I saw was 4 barbarians PER GAME in the fuller lobbies. This is just the average, I've been in games where there were 6 barbarians out of 8 or so players and never a single game where there was any less than 2 and usually that was in a already small lobby, and most of the other ppl in the lobbies are mostly split between Warlocks and Rogues. I have barely seen any fighters, haven't run into a single druid or cleric. Barbarian is broken atm. On a side tangent, Idk why TF barbarian got armour pen, let alone as much as they got at first on it's massive damaging two handed weapons while armour/pdr simultaneously got nerfed into irrelevance. You can't tell me they don't have favouritisms when shit like that happens.

When you catch them on mistakes, it doesn't mean that the class is imba, it means that you play better. Although the above classes bring discomfort and in most cases kill the barbarian. Of course with your level of play you can kill everyone but for an ordinary player it is not so easy.

This shows how unbalance barbarian is. I started with druid, got my ass kicked even knowing what i doing, them wizard, was good but was not fun to play and them warlock. All classes loses dramaticaly to a barb or a good pdr fighter with bow.
I really like the update. Not all players have the opportunity to play 24/7 to dress in top gear. With this update, they have balanced all classes. To win now, you need skill, not "cool" clothes. I am very glad that everyone was leveled. Most players are just used to winning due to the gear, and not because of understanding/skill of the game
stop fooling yourself. players who play this game as you say "24/7" will beat you everytime even if they were playing with only 1 hand and blindfolded. when you all cryed because warlocks naked were killing all of you, it was gear diff too, right? right ???????
Actually cool gear is still strong since usually they have better stats. Like brave hunter pants. Or the ruby doublet. Copper is hella op rn (probably should be nerf or buff and make copper a harder to craft item, put in boss room maybe?)

This is a pretty bad take, that’s why gear score existed in the first place, even if the brackets didn’t work 100% of the time. You get placed against people who play/can afford just as much gear as you can

I absolutely love how people who gear checked timmies and W keyd everyoned because they had 20k kits now are dying to squire gear, realizing all they had before was time and gold, instead of skill
no one who were running 20k kits dies to squire gear, because those players dont even play normals unless they are bossing, stop lying to yourself. they literally gave all players access to purple and legendary loot last patch, and you were still losing every single fight. Nothing will exchange, except for the fact that people will grind demi and leave the game. It was never that easy to get demigod, and top leaderboard is barely changing because people will just play something else.

You can't disagree that having 40 attribute advantage was not a MAJOR advantage, same for double health or ms rolls on items. I do agree that PvP should be more leveled experience instead of raw stat checks for this kind of game, I do not agree with faster TTK, HP change was unnessecary with new gear stats and it hurts healers(can't heal dead people), but you can still get BIS gear which will give you advantage. However that advantage is now 10-20% better stat performance than 50%+, which is a good thing, major gear differences and OP gear only people with no life playing the game non stop could afford is something that belongs to F2P asian mmo with PvP, not to a full loot game, where you're expected to die often and lose it all. Previously it was mostly about base attributes, now its all about enchantments. Not exactly sure what do you mean by "outrange opponent" here tho, kiting PvE? Playing as ranger? Tho there are now couple more changes which are.... surprising, like removal of minimal GS for HR.

From the discord and anecdotal experience from friends being one shot by a base level windlass is a damn near instakill. Imo I think this game should use the AP system for normals as well. A lot of people are saying that this new updates requires players to be more skilled in their encounters, but that primarily benefits the already skilled players. New guys are still going to get steam rolled, and when you die before being able to try much of anything how do you know what to improve. imo the game needs a more gradual way of making players more skilled. Making major changes and constantly doing balance changes(even if necessary) only promotes people to follow the meta rather than stick to the class they enjoy

They could do this by implementing rarity exclusive affixes, like true damage can only roll on epic+ or something

Their gear isn't worth jack diddly squat now when you just get the same gear from Squire, minus a few crumbs of extra stats. Since the update came out the number of players has dropped by 6,000 steam, that's also across a weekend when there should be more people on and playing.
Also I think Pete said something like "Where are the barbs?" in another video saying he was the only one. OCE (Sydney) servers, out of 10 solo high roller matches, the average per game I saw was 4 barbarians PER GAME in the fuller lobbies. This is just the average, I've been in games where there were 6 barbarians out of 8 or so players and never a single game where there was any less than 2 and usually that was in a already small lobby, and most of the other ppl in the lobbies are mostly split between Warlocks and Rogues. I have barely seen any fighters, haven't run into a single druid or cleric. Barbarian is broken atm.
On a side tangent, Idk why TF barbarian got armour pen, let alone as much as they got at first on it's massive damaging two handed weapons while armour/pdr simultaneously got nerfed into irrelevance. You can't tell me they don't have favouritisms when shit like that happens.
that Sn1p guy or whatever his name was, was wiping my lobbies a few days ago, he had that same kit and after running into him 3-4 times i just couldn't kill him, and you just walk at him in squire gear and kill him...

When you catch them on mistakes, it doesn't mean that the class is imba, it means that you play better.
Although the above classes bring discomfort and in most cases kill the barbarian.
Of course with your level of play you can kill everyone but for an ordinary player it is not so easy.

I started with druid, got my ass kicked even knowing what i doing, them wizard, was good but was not fun to play and them warlock.
All classes loses dramaticaly to a barb or a good pdr fighter with bow.
I really like the update. Not all players have the opportunity to play 24/7 to dress in top gear. With this update, they have balanced all classes. To win now, you need skill, not "cool" clothes. I am very glad that everyone was leveled. Most players are just used to winning due to the gear, and not because of understanding/skill of the game
stop fooling yourself. players who play this game as you say "24/7" will beat you everytime even if they were playing with only 1 hand and blindfolded.

Actually cool gear is still strong since usually they have better stats. Like brave hunter pants. Or the ruby doublet. Copper is hella op rn (probably should be nerf or buff and make copper a harder to craft item, put in boss room maybe?)

This is a pretty bad take, that’s why gear score existed in the first place, even if the brackets didn’t work 100% of the time. You get placed against people who play/can afford just as much gear as you can

I played since playtest 3. when I was unemployed I was able to grind, keep up with crafts and play end game.
now I get 2-3 hrs to play a few times a week. its good for the life of the game if it's accessible to people who cannot dedicate>6 hrs a day

no one who were running 20k kits dies to squire gear, because those players dont even play normals unless they are bossing, stop lying to yourself.
they literally gave all players access to purple and legendary loot last patch, and you were still losing every single fight. Nothing will exchange, except for the fact that people will grind demi and leave the game. It was never that easy to get demigod, and top leaderboard is barely changing because people will just play something else.

@@Lerciezje Making gear borderline obsolete sort of defeats one of the main mechanics of the game and changes the gameplay loop. Why loot when you can just outrange your opponent with squire gear
@@killerpanda4659 I'm not going to say I agree or disagree here, but there is a major benefit to more leveled gear - it brings casual players in and makes them stay, because they feel relevant and they feel like they can do something.
You can't disagree that having 40 attribute advantage was not a MAJOR advantage, same for double health or ms rolls on items.
I do agree that PvP should be more leveled experience instead of raw stat checks for this kind of game, I do not agree with faster TTK, HP change was unnessecary with new gear stats and it hurts healers(can't heal dead people), but you can still get BIS gear which will give you advantage. However that advantage is now 10-20% better stat performance than 50%+, which is a good thing, major gear differences and OP gear only people with no life playing the game non stop could afford is something that belongs to F2P asian mmo with PvP, not to a full loot game, where you're expected to die often and lose it all.
Previously it was mostly about base attributes, now its all about enchantments.

Tho there are now couple more changes which are.... surprising, like removal of minimal GS for HR.
@@Lerciezje I mostly meant classes that can utilize ranger weapons such as double windlass crossbow. From the discord and anecdotal experience from friends being one shot by a base level windlass is a damn near instakill.
Imo I think this game should use the AP system for normals as well. A lot of people are saying that this new updates requires players to be more skilled in their encounters, but that primarily benefits the already skilled players. New guys are still going to get steam rolled, and when you die before being able to try much of anything how do you know what to improve. imo the game needs a more gradual way of making players more skilled. Making major changes and constantly doing balance changes(even if necessary) only promotes people to follow the meta rather than stick to the class they enjoy
