Just like NFL we here in the DFW feel Arizona is just a hop away. Of course being from San Diego originally you were LOL. Wish you guys great success, I will be rooting for you when your mot playing Baylor. LOL
Through the shrewd, foresightful and daring moves by BY, the B12 is now a handsome conference that cannot be dismissed or downplayed by anyone. The competition will be fierce and winners highly regarded, I dare say difficult to honestly regard as inferior to the SEC or B1G winners. Go Cougars! PS: So very happy, proud, honored to be part of this conference!
Big 12 current media contacts (Fox, ESPN) are Like the earlier B1G contract negotiated 7-8 years ago (not exclusive). Great opportunity for Big $$ next negotiations. Brett Yormark needs to immediately: 1. Restructure Big-12 TV Network with MEDIA Partner (Fox?), copy the Success of B1G network. 2. Grab GOOD Pac-12 / Southeast media talent (B1G network has already done this, getting Pac-12 TV personalities that were B1G alumni (Iowa, NW). 3. DRIVE Respect in building Big-12 Culture (Prima-dona’s have left) with large number (8) of new members. 4. WIN matchups, schedule good non-conference competitions (respect state & regional competitors). BUILD Quality of Content (TV buys that), close games help. Iowa football has played that role in B1G since 1980s (thank’s to Baylor’s Hayden Fry turnaround)
BTW, the new Four corner colleges should not be afraid of playing old Pac-12 colleges & new B1G members. Oregon State, Washington State, & California would appreciate. Utah versus Stanford would be nice late day game. Iowa play Iowa State every year. K-State could play Nebraska or Iowa State (or Kansas) versus Missouri.
Yormark has masterfully branded this New, younger, hipper conference as teams will be new to each other and some teams litterally new like UCF! Season is going to be a blast!
Texas fan. I'm optimistic about our move, but I felt SO BAD for the Big 12. I hated seeing everyone read off the conference's last rites because of us. And I've been saying ever since the USCLA move that getting the Four Corners schools would be a massive win for the XII. So happy to see it happen, all thanks to Brett Yormark. If the Big 12 is still standing after the ACC gets nuked, Yormark will be the reason why. Give this man a statue, he's earned it for bringing this conference back from the dead.
@@patrickboren2211 - Being a Texan I'd like to root for ut but that's not happening ever again. Beautiful review of the Big 16. The conference ought to use that video review during a commercial breaks as an introduction & what the country has yet to expect. Very impressive. Great job! Ironically both the Big 12 Champs (K-State) and the PAC 12 Champs (Utah) appear in this video. LET'S GO!
Yeah I did not kniw the whole story but sure I am glad I did not edit them out! Wow! I mean Utes are truly not yet realizing how similar the Big XII is to them and I am super happy to have Utah in this conference!
Those young men had so much promise Ty especially most likely would have been in the NFL. College GameDay did a story on them I recommend googling if anyone wants more context.
We're going to have 16 schools that all have an equal chance at the top echelon of the sport. No bell cows, no heavy hitters, true - but also no predictability. Everyone is on equal footing. So every conference member is only held back by their own determination. To me, that's very exciting. I hope the conference stays at 16 until the ACC implodes. Don't water it down any further. Let the newer eight forge their own identities in the conference for awhile before growing further.
Outstanding video! I go back to the Big 8 days and where this conference has come to is so exciting! I can't wait for the new season and for all of our new schools to join! Let's Go Pokes!
As a lifelong Sun Devil fan. This is a brave new world to me. You guys have added a program that is not just another name. But a brand upon itself. We are a nation strong program and Im proud of this team known as the Sun Devils. Here we come Forks Up !!!!!!Go Devils!!!!!!!
WELCOME to our Western Brothers, you will soon see how this conference packs the stands with all kinds of traditions. As a K-State Alum our trademark is the WABASH CANNONBALL! Our students get just as nutty with that as the Wisconsin fans do with their Jump Around. #emaw #repeat ua-cam.com/video/QTEMatxLd0E/v-deo.html&ab_channel=CollegeFootballAmerica
ASU has every reason to be a full on blue blood! Great school, great fanbase, just needed a great coach. Now ASU will have access to recruits from some of the best states in the nation. I believe ASU will become an athletic contender just as they already are academically.
Yeah I almost went there but the video was getting too long and this recent history was specifically focused on the irrate eight and how we banded together as brothers and then received four more band of brothers and now once again 4 more band of brothers!
We should have kicked Texas out back then. That’s why they all left. Let’s get our conference payday closer to equal with the other two and maybe MU and NU might come back. A&M was always bent about Arky being in the SEC after the SWC got blown up. Felt they should be there too.
As an Arizona fan I am excited to join the Big12. The trophy wives of the old Pac8 wine and cheese club conference decided to lily pad to a richer sugar daddy like trophy wives do. Nice to have our long lost cousins of the old SWC and WAC have our backs and welcome us back home. Gracias Primos!
Yep, but as Commissioner Yormark said we are not standing still. New and innovative revenue streams and branding. Already growing the brand by adding more teams=more programming. It's exciting time to be in the New Big XII!
Well those schools were not in Big XII, but I do understand as the video points out. Realitt the Big XII has been on the brink of destruction multiple times.
Before every ooc game the B12 has, watch this... pulling for every B12 team this year in their ooc games. That will make us unique, brothers until we play. #Hatefull8 now the #16againsttheworld
Let's get those Mountaineers back to where they were, at the Top of the Big East and pretty close when Geno Smith was there! LOL actually my brother & sister-in-law live in West Virginia!
As a life-long Colorado fan (my mom went into labor with me when she was taking finals in Boulder) I can say that I deeply mourn the death of the PAC12; I'm happy to be back with UK, KSU, ISU and OSU. Happy Texas is gone. Will really miss OU and NU. These are our times. But Mostly...You are all underestimating Utah. For the past decade Utah has been consistently better than both Texas and Oklahoma.
The Big 12 should add MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University). Attention would be huge in this part of the country. Seeing teams from other parts of the country would excite me. And I’m not even a fan of MTSU. Just live an hour away.
Yeah everybody thought that was going to be the end of the Big 12 and it would have been if the pac-12 wouldn't have been so damn snooty That wound up being the end of the pac-12 at several years back Oklahoma and Texas reached out to the pac-12 asking for an invite to join the conference and the pac-12 declined
The Big 12 went from last rities to being a Phoenix having Colorado come back plus both Arizona schools & Utah join the big 12 cause both Texas and Oklahoma will find out that the southeastern conference (SEC) is more tougher
The only excellent recruiting market the Big 12 doesn't have is California, but as others have said, California by and large couldn't care less about football so the culture isn't there. Ohio, Florida (all of the deep south, really) and Texas all REALLY care about their football and produce dawgs every year.
Is this all positive right now from a big XII perspective? ABSOLUTELY! As several has already, this conference was the one going for the lifeboat. Yormark simply was smarter and much more urgent. I love what he has built. I am going to be that guy though. Enjoy all of this people. Some of these schools won't have a seat at the big boy table 5 to 10 years from now. Why? Well, to use a roundabout line from a famous incoming HC " They coming." You all know who that would be. And once they get there, there will be change. Like, two conference's of 32 teams a piece type change. So kick back and enjoy what should be a damn fun and competitive environment for multiple years. Just know that if USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington can leave the PAC and Oklahoma and Texas + others before that can leave the Big XII, ANYTHING is possible.
Well we will have to agree to disagree. I believe the Rebel OutPost of the Big XII will flourish and continue to grow. Already have an anchor in badketball and will continue to vie for Football CFP!
@@patrickboren2211 totally cool with that and respect your opinions. It's not that I want the Big XII to fail at all. Or seeing the PAC actually fail. Plus who knows, maybe football breaks off and Olympic sports stay in normal conferences somehow. I surely don't know. All I can say is enjoy it. As a fan of Texas, they are in for some real surprises in the SEC and they already are bad enough as it is most of the time. Look at what A&M has become lol.. it doesn't stop them from cashing in. Worse yet, Missouri.. it's not a fit at all. But the money makes it a perfect fit for them. Not a complaint about being bad every year. Point I have is if the B1G decides they NEED KU and say, Colorado, then it's over buddy, there going to the B1G. Don't ever forget how close this conference was to being the PAC before Yormark did his magic. If Texas and Oklahoma can do it- and A&M, NEB, MIZZU before that- then KU, COL, Utah, TTU( who badly wanted in the PAC a few yrs ago) sure as hell go too.
@@patrickboren2211 Again, I want you guys to make. It looks like a very exciting conference now. I love a lot of the match-up possibilities. If the B1G wants you guys its going to be KU, CU, Utah for sure. Possibly they reach for K-St or Iowa St if numbers come into play.. If the SEC wants you guys too it's likely adding WVU, both ARI schools, Oklahoma St at minimum. Again, depends on how big these two "leagues" want to be. Could toss in Baylor and HOU, or possibly TCU and Cincinnati. Hard to tell. That's 8 gone at least, and it your best 8. You won't survive that, plain and simple.
I was wrong. I severely underestimated the ability of ESPN and FOX to cooperate in manipulating the market. It still doesn't add up that they've increased media payouts by $200M to add 6 PAC teams to other conferences, but they couldn't put together $250-300M for the PAC10. I guess they think the short term gains of consolidation is better than the long term viability of a more dynamic college football structure. Oh well, Go Utes! Go Big12!
It is the 80% viewership of the Central and Eastern time zones that PAC teams pick up because now fan bases in these time zones are participants because of their schools!
@@patrickboren2211 Given the circumstances, I am happy to see Utah land in the Big12 after the ESPN/FOX tornado through us all into chaos. And I'm very excited to see my team play more opponents whose fans aren't plagued with the rampant apathy currently inflicting much of the west coast.
The pac 12 turned down their original deal lol they had a deal and thought they were too big for it which is why they’re no more. ESPN and fox didn’t wanna work with them anymore. For good reason, I wouldn’t either. That’s 100% the pac 12’s fault.
Welcome to the New XII. Still B1G/SEC/ACC fans do not give the BIG XII a chance of survival, but I see a bright future where the Big XII continues to grow with good ACC additions after the B1G/SEC Borg rampage their conference. The SEC was first strike on Big XII. The B1G was first and second strike on PAC. Now those twin axis of conference destruction are headed for the ACC. We will pull up along side any of the good teams left behind and strengthen our conference. Yormark has already increased revenue for the conference and we expect to see the gap between the B1G/SEC and the New XII shrink due to many innovative ideas of Commissioner Yormark.
@@patrickboren2211 Whatever happens with the ACC, ensuring the restoration of The BackYard Brawl by adding Pitt(if they're available) should be priority #1.
Does anybody else see a problem with the name? Can they still call it the Big 12? Is it the Big 16? What happens if the Big 10 gets two more teams? Maybe they should hurry up and just call it the Big.
@@timothywest1183 True as there is no such thing as perfect. No one could create a video where everyone liked it. Kind of like Kliavkoff trying to get a Media Rights Deal where only 10 schools would like it?
Let's be brutally honest: Baylor if it gets back up to speed should go 7-1 in football versus the last 8 schools the Big 12 added, and right now 14-2 versus those same 8 in men's basketball.
Shhhhhh we are trying to come in under the radar. Things in Waco right now are as exciting as the Conference news! We really have this gut feeling this year is going to be like 2021
Sports Gambling is played on paper. Offensive/Defensive schemes, and plays are added to paper. However a Coach must be able to pass the vision of those schemes to the players so that they can execute those plans for success.
Instead of Buy American, Buy Big XII? 🤣🤣 Don't worry, the 12 that are here this year will be Big XII watchers. Of course once end of season starts coming we'll watch possible CFP contenders.
Big 12 has been surviving 10 years without Texas doing a thing in either football or basketball and 3 years without OU in either as well. Big XII was fine and only strengthened its position with the addition of PAC schools. Big XII will add good teams from the depleted ACC once SEC/B1G take teams from there as well. In the new era of expanded CFP Big XII will represent 3 to 4 teams in the playoffs and will compete for the National Championship.
That blame falls squarely on the Pac 12. It sucks for schools like Oregon State and Washington State, but Cal and Stanford are to blame as much as anyone for their arrogance. If the Pac 12 had been paying attention to the direction of things and didn't let arrogance cloud their vision, this would have played out in 2021, except it would have been the Big 12 coming to an end.

Brett Yormark needs to immediately:
Thank you for including Ty and Aaron. It means a lot to us.
Absolutely, welcome to New Big XII
@patrickboren2211 Thanks so much for adding Ty and ALowe. The families "we" are very grateful.

I think many people outside the Big 12 are very impressed and fascinated with this new, well balanced conference.
Many people will be watching.
😂😂
I’m very impressed with both the Big 12 and the B1G TEN. Both conferences have improved greatly over the past year . Thank you Texas and Oklahoma 🤣

Yeah, actually don't mind the school ir the fans, daughter went to Baylor the UT Medical school. I am glad to see the Texas politics leave.
@@patrickboren2211 I really wish we'd stop with the politics. I just wanna play Oklahoma and A&M every year. That's all I want.

Beautiful review of the Big 16. The conference ought to use that video review during a commercial breaks as an introduction & what the country has yet to expect. Very impressive. Great job! Ironically both the Big 12 Champs (K-State) and the PAC 12 Champs (Utah) appear in this video. LET'S GO!

Awesome hype video. Welcome to our newest Big12 conference members. Let's keep the positive momentum going. 🙌🏼🤙🏼
I think they gonna pass the big 10

People forget when Nebraska, Missouri, Texas A&M, Colorado( first time) left. There was the Big 12 gravestone memes back then.
@@timothywest1183 A&M thinks too highly of themselves to join our little rebel outpost. Nebraska would be cool but hard to turn down the money

It would be cool to have the fours school meet at four corners monument to do photos of them passing around a peace pipe.

But Mostly...You are all underestimating Utah. For the past decade Utah has been consistently better than both Texas and Oklahoma.
Agreed on that last part
The Big 12 should add MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University). Attention would be huge in this part of the country. Seeing teams from other parts of the country would excite me. And I’m not even a fan of MTSU. Just live an hour away.
That is interesting! Tennessee is a great state!
Yeah everybody thought that was going to be the end of the Big 12 and it would have been if the pac-12 wouldn't have been so damn snooty
That wound up being the end of the pac-12 at several years back Oklahoma and Texas reached out to the pac-12 asking for an invite to join the conference and the pac-12 declined
Yep and again when TX and OU announced leaving...PAC rejected all Big XII schools

The Big 12 went from last rities to being a Phoenix having Colorado come back plus both Arizona schools & Utah join the big 12 cause both Texas and Oklahoma will find out that the southeastern conference (SEC) is more tougher

Me too even though I loved OU but maybe it is time to stay in the Midwest where I belong!!!!!!
The only excellent recruiting market the Big 12 doesn't have is California, but as others have said, California by and large couldn't care less about football so the culture isn't there. Ohio, Florida (all of the deep south, really) and Texas all REALLY care about their football and produce dawgs every year.
College Football is a big business just behind the NFL!

@@CodyH88 Well at 16 to lose a couple schools would not kill the Big XII.
@@CodyH88 Well I will wait for 10 years to see if that happens. Until then going to enjoy this New Big XII Conference and the excitement!
Awesome
Love this video. Nice job. (I know the man is busy as hell, but it would have been a better visual had he known his speech better.)
Yeah, his focus is business operations like a field general, perhaps the Big XII should hire a gifted influencing speaker?
I was wrong. I severely underestimated the ability of ESPN and FOX to cooperate in manipulating the market. It still doesn't add up that they've increased media payouts by $200M to add 6 PAC teams to other conferences, but they couldn't put together $250-300M for the PAC10. I guess they think the short term gains of consolidation is better than the long term viability of a more dynamic college football structure.
Oh well,
Go Utes!
@@patrickboren2211 Whatever happens with the ACC, ensuring the restoration of The BackYard Brawl by adding Pitt(if they're available) should be priority #1.

but we found out somehow it will be the Pac
Big 12 has been surviving 10 years without Texas doing a thing in either football or basketball and 3 years without OU in either as well. Big XII was fine and only strengthened its position with the addition of PAC schools. Big XII will add good teams from the depleted ACC once SEC/B1G take teams from there as well. In the new era of expanded CFP Big XII will represent 3 to 4 teams in the playoffs and will compete for the National Championship.
Big 12 the new pac 12
The PAC was a good conference! It was only about moving PAC teams under CST and EST eyeballs
At the expense of a 100+ year old conference. Sure, pat yourselves on the back.
Excuse me? The Big XII did not break up the PAC, that was all the B1G's doing. We came to save as many institutions as we could.
