Had a mate down here in Australia and he had a mate who was a midget brickie. Used him all the time to get up to damp then my mate did all the cream work.
Chin up brother / I worked with my dad and now my 3 sons work with me - even my grandson comes in on the trowel so 4 generations of us sullivans. Keeping brick laying going 👍 you go steady mate and God bless 🍀
i am a 70 year old retired bricklayer and was taught to keep full perps. for a so called traditional bricklayer, tipping your perps is not a good practice to pass on to your son
Brilliant. Young lads on the Hod/monkey and laying bricks with the London pattern trowels and not a plastic muck board in sight old School. Fantastic 👍👍
Not a good one buddies, looking at that chimney you still digging those joints, I keep telling you cut off bit of tile baton! and you forget a pencil ✏️ tomorrow your be sent home!
Great bricklayer but you seem to not be filling some perps full enough with mortar. Water ingress could fill the joints and could freeze and create issues. Quickness is great but proper full beds and perps are important. Your a legend bricklayer though.
God bless you Dean another great video......but please don't hit your level , I used to get a bollocking for that ,bad habits and all that mate . Great job lads .
When you set that deadman block, was it to avoid sag in the brick line? If so, how do you gauge that if the foundation or block work below you brick course is not perfectly level?
Hello mate, question for you if Pos thinking about Having exposed brickwork inside a barn ( bungalow but large ) gable end looking out vaulted ceiling . So will have black frame windows Black roof and so on .Its solid built but not the best looking so might end up cladding the outside not 100% as of yet . But want to use a stock inside what’s your thoughts would you go with? Reds or yellows or can I mix them or is that not the done thing ??want some with a bit of paint on black and so on . Also, would you do headers over the windows 🤯
You say thermally it’s not good to have concrete blocks externally and thermalite internally.? What about when you use brick externally.? No difference surely.?? I see your using a lightweight concrete block, where’s that going.?

I know mate so bad …I even got 1 with guards on 😂😂

Hi, which Kind of mortar Do you use?
In Germany is much more cement in there. In England it looks like wet Sand 🤔
Greetings from Germany
For cement based mortars regarding general brickwork the ratio is 4:1 or 5:1... Sand:Cement.
Same here, looks nonetheless different.
Thank you four the answer. 👍
@krautersammler8080 most likely the different sands. I'm in the the north of England and our mortar is a different colour to the south of England.
@@CumbrianMush that could be the solution. 👍
Have a good Day 🙋🏼♂️
Never did get me coin lol. Wot mix is it you use can I ask. Please Dean

Can always check with the laser level what the middle is saying

Tapping your levels its a no no for me .
Looks like your trying to hard to be quick for the camera and not on the quality.

I’ll do a video on it mate when I get time
Thermo no good for casting, they dot and dab these thermo internals too cover the cracks!!!
muck flying everywhere. barrow full on the ground. oh dear.
That was a back breaker. Not for the weak minded.
Could have done with you on a job today the customer could have done with Tony Robinson rather than a bricklayer. Wanted to know end of cats arse 😂😂😂
