@@milosmoore4400 bc it is. The mites actually stay on it (both dead and alive), forming a crust. Some people like to scrape it off, some keep it. But it is a regional cheese, not everyone knows about it and a lot of people here do kinda go 'ewww' if they've never heard of it. So there's that. If I'm not mistaken the law makes an 'exception' bc usually the sale and consumption of food with living animals is against the law here, but this cheese is sold under a different 'label' or smth like that. Dunno how exactly it is handled and I am too lazy to look it up right now but yeah it's a funny thing.
