Hey MJ thanks for the content. I'm an MSc student doing Financial Maths and I find it hard to differentiate between Actuarial Science and Financial mathematics. Can you please make a video clarifying the two programs.
South Africa exams can't compare with the Society of Actuaries USA Examinations and the Casualty Actuarial Society Examinations. I think that you cannot Practice as an Actuary in United States.
Hello, Thank you for video. Can you please tell if I can start with your course or I require to have prior knowledge of maths. As I did not had maths major in school
Do you know that Which Actuarial model is prefer to analyse the solars ( non living things).? I want to analyse cost and future benefits of solar power system, using actuarial model.
I think that you are mistaken Abstract Algebra, Complex Analysis, and Real Analysis is not useful in Actuarial Sciences. If you want to become an Associate of the Society of Actuaries USA, you dont need Sthocastic Calculus neither. Only Fellow Actuary needs Sthocastic Calculus and Differential Equations. The only thing you need is Calculus I II III, Linear Algebra (Very Few) . Probability and Mathematical Statistics. Dont put courses that are not useful in Actuarial Sciences.
Hey I can do all other chapters in maths but not trignometry (only know basic trignometry) how much trignometry is there in actuarial science. Can I do actuary with learning a lot of trignometry?
Don't we need measure theory and real analysis for stochastic calculus in cm2? I myself haven't studied cm2 yet but all stochastic calculus courses require martingales and real analysis as prerequisite.
Yeah this isn't all the maths, its the start. You need Pre-Calculus and Calculus before you start with Stochastic Calculus. Most Financial Engineering textbooks will cover martingales before they go straight into deriving Black Scholes
Hey, I'm a high school student from South Africa and in two months I have to choose my subjects. I just wanted to ask ; which subject would you recommend between Accounting and Business for a person who's going to pursue actuarial science.

Financial maths is a subset of Actuarial Science. So if you do Actuarial Science, you will do Financial Maths plus a whole bunch of other topics

Thank you for this, looking forward to taking the course on Udemy.
Woooooooooow!!! powerful video. I love dis video
Is there a google doc of this? I want to make a spreadsheet to track myself over the next year.
I think that you are mistaken

There isn’t that much but it’s not something to ignore completely.
So no stats in this course?

@@MJtheFellowActuary so should i bother learning real analysis before starting to study for cm2 or is it okay if I don't do so?
I think also Functional Analysis is important too.
If you have the time, go for it! More studying is always better
@@MJtheFellowActuary ok, thank you for your reply

Accounting, because it’s easier to learn business in your spare time, whereas for accounting you want the classroom structure to help you focus on it.
How many exams can be passed by going through these math courses?
