Rey just got out of the hospital today. She’s OK. Thank you everyone for your comments asking about her well-being.
The lack of obeying traffic laws is going to lead to a lot of problems for the ebike comunity !
I don’t know if they’re aware that they cannot block traffic like that. Only authorized personnel or law enforcement can stop or direct traffic. I wonder if a person has green and they inch their way around a traffic “stopper” and an ebike hits them, who’s at fault? An ebike who’s suppose to be on a bike lane or car with the right of way from green light? There may be some strict laws or ordinances coming for e-bikes. Ride and respect everyone on the road. It broke my heart that Rey had an accident. My wife is a nurse and I was a cna. I hope she is well. Ride safe everyone.
Austin depending on your state law ebikes have to ride with traffic or have to be in the bike lane.

Thank you for uploading so quick and sharing this information about the accident, it's good to know everything turned out fine. I'm the dude at 15:57 with the red bike, and I didn't see the crash but was filming. Currently editing my ride video and it's going to take over a day to render.
This is why I don't go on big rides like this. First thing I noticed was the lack of obeying the laws of the road and definitely the lack of leadership. Also this is why cops and cities are so hard on ebikes now

Glad you said you didn’t like burn outs on group rides. I came from race cars where there were a lot of revving and burn outs and sideshows. Totally killed the scene for me. Glad Rey is safe and getting proper care. Hope she’s well. The only thing I didn’t really like was the stopping traffic part. I understand why you guys do it but it can cause accidents or get you guys in trouble. There are a lot of road rage and dumb drivers. They might not stop for you. Some are riding like they own the road. Remember class 1 and class 2 follows the same rules as a regular bike where a class 3 is a moped. Meaning they can ride on bike paths and bike lane at 20mph with throttle or assist. At least there were no wheelies. Ride safe and happy holidays.

Good you and some of the other homies were respectful on the ride and trying to keep traffic clear and get people moving.
Idk why some people just seem to turn off their brain when an accident happens. You can't all just sit there in a giant group.

It always hurts when something like that happens. Looks like the pavement grooves made the tires squirm and caused a loss of control, or she clipped one of the center divider bumps. Sometimes the low speed falls can do lots of damage, with the handlebars turning sideways and causing abdominal injuries. Hope she comes out of it ok.
This is going to end badly just look how most people think their following the rules but are breaking so many. I hope there are no more incidents.
group rides should be smaller for safety , large groups impede traffic , maybe groups of 25 max, and dont bunch up like that.
sorry i gota say this but, i've been a biker all my life. don't complain about bike lanes when you literally follow almost no rules of the road ... yikes

Little bit is like this.... You drive like there no tomorrow no rules. Passing buy from left to right like morons. What do think is gonna happend 🤷 here in Sweden no passing innerline right side only left side passing. That way mutch safer... Use our brains and you maybe fine or close to fine. Just saying ! Hope that person recover whell and fast....
On American roads you put your life in someone else's hands every time you ride a bike. Cars are the problem not bikes.

Best recoveries to her. But man, I would never participate in a group ride no bigger than 3 people. I know it's a sense of unity and everyone's got the best intentions going safe speeds etc, but to outsiders it just looks like a bunch of hooligans up to no good, holding up traffic, etc. Don't give the law makers any more reason to regulate the hobby than it already is guys. Nothing good comes out of these group rides at the end of the day. U wanna meet new people, go to a jogging or chess meetup or something. lol.

I loved this video and now not sorry I missed it. I like your riding style and would love to ride with you sometime. I probably have rode with you and didn't know it. The Southbay and Onyx headquarters ride. Sorry about Rey getting hurt. The ride leader should have got everyone moving other then those that were helping. Glad to see you tried to step up. I will meet you on the next one. I ride a Ariel Rider Grizzly.

Looked like they rolled over her body, from face down to face up. I don't think you should necessarily do that.
A log roll was performed while stabilizing the head. It’s necessary to check vitals (and to perform cpr if necessary). Luckily none of that was necessary. The helmet should stay on til paramedics arrived, but she was pushing and pulling at it so much in her confusion, it was safer to remove.
C-spine and log roll. He’s correct. They needed to make sure she’s breathing and her Airway is clear.
Good job taking some authority. You got that wheel inspection down too.
My tire was wobbling and it was due to broken spokes.
