Very well done young man. I’ve been playing guitar for many many years. I am 68 years old and just now getting into open tuning’s. Thank you for this information and I plan on pursuing this because it is freaking awesome. Thank you.
I've been in a rut lately and have been playing around with open tunings to get out of it. Your videos on this have been really helpful and a ton of fun. Thank you for this!
You can play a lot of things in DADGAD. Blues, Classical, old tunes. I play with a pick. It works better than open D when you are at the F#-G point. F# on 4 then G on 3.
Thanks bro. I recently started learning DADGAD, blues fan, thank you for your video. I would like to see more blues in this tuning with your explanations. With great respect from Russia... 🇷🇺🤝🇮🇪
Good to start with the reason for doing this. Unblocking. But there is a wider reason - think Jackson Browne's steel guitar backing on the earlier songs. There is a world of slide guitar out there!!
I subbed with out a doubt, brilliant lesson man, I learned a lot of a lad from limerick, I lent him some cash for food and that, thought I was a fruit, so I called him the wife, I miss him, cheers for lesson again, Stray1 Britain’s best Unknown stuntman that never was,
Ill be frank, this is completely new to me; only tried DGDGBD (never understood why Keith decommissioned that low D), standard drop D, Eb and bari (B) tuning. But this is completely new to me. Sounds like Zeppelin has this tonal palate, really nice stuff. Edit Wouldn't it make more sense to have an F# instead of a G? In fact I'd say even an F so you can just sharpen it with a finger... Anyway love the sound just curious, guess that means I'll be trying it later.
I prefer DADFAD, which is minor D open tuning, sounds dark and sometimes creepy, just like Clint Eastwood would like when his Man Without Name kills one more bad guy.
I loved the "major turd" @4:18 😂 Made my day, thank you

Favorite of Rory Gallgher too.
My favorite DADGAD chords are:
D: 000200
G: 020020
C: 032030
A: 002202
F: 333200
It sounds like you could loop the little starting riff and the you could really make it interesting.

Is it eaiser to tune to open G or just change the strings out ?
I prefer DADFAD, which is minor D open tuning, sounds dark and sometimes creepy, just like Clint Eastwood would like when his Man Without Name kills one more bad guy.
What gauge strings are you using here?
Channeling Pops Staples. Sounds great.
I love me some pops staples!! 👊
Thanks sadly I’m definitely a major turd
I dont mean any offense, I really enjoy your lessons but I cant help but laugh when you say things like flatten your turd.
hehe he said "flatten your turd"
Sadly, my playing is full of major turds.
lol. I kept hearing major turds. Besides that, I did learn a lot about DADGAD. Thanks for the lesson!
I really enjoyed this. You got more in the same style?
