My granddad was a coal miner, my dad (aunts and uncles)all grew up in a coal camp just hard working honest living. My grandma, who's 101 this year and still living at home on her own, she's got the best stories and funny ones. I love the ones about standing on the strike lines with a shotgun during the mine wars. Honest, hard working people. Mining isn't for some people but for those who do it, it's how you feed your family. Sadly, there's a lot less families today thanks to a failed government assault on the fabric of this country.
