Thanks so much for this tutorial! I had planned to try to put the logo onto something else and sew it on until I saw this. It worked great! I love your thorough explanations.
Thank you so much! You made it look so easy and it was after I saw your tutorial. I never thought to just pin the beanie to the stabilizer. Embroidered my first beanie just now! Still 21 left for all my kids in my class have personalized beanies.
Love your videos. You are not only practical but you are brilliant! Love your tips and tricks but mostly your chyrons, captions, warnings, across your videos to alert us to the mistakes we embroiderers will all make on our creative odyssey. Thinking about all the money I would have saved if I would have found you earlier! You are wonderful!
YESSSSSSSS.... I think I'll be headed to Dollar Tree tomorrow to see if they have any hats in yet! I'm dying to try this!! Thank you SO MUCH... I would have totally not flipped the design and would have cried. A lot. A big ugly cry at that! LOL!!! Bless you, Eve! You're awesome!
I've spent the afternoon watching your video tutorials. I also do machine embroidery and make my own items but on a personal level (family and gifts). I've learned so much today!!! Excellent advice, thank you. I knew I enjoyed your personality, you're a Carolina girl! We live in Raleigh.
Sally Ann Ball Thank you! ☺ I am pleased to have been of help! Yes, we Carolina ladies are the best with our Southern charm. 😉 I come out that way from time to time especially headed to Fayetteville and Greensboro. ❤
I really like your clear presentation! I feel totally confident about tackling a knit beanie. I have usually embroidered on only woven fabrics...so was a bit nervous.
Thank you. I have been having trouble embroidering our logo onto the toques with the brim. The knit moves and stitching has been bunching. I will try the cutaway stabilizer and the pins.
Hello!!! Does it matter what color you use on the tip and the bobbin or do the have to be the same color? For instance I'm using a blue for the design on a a black binnie? Thank you!!
Im trying to embroider onto a beanie with fonts I purchased on etsy. I will be two lines but I dont know what sizes to use or what dimensions to use to fit the beanie. Please help.😪
You will need to measure the beanie fold to see what size fonts will fit best. If you like a chunky fold that is more tall, then you may can use a 1in to 1.5in font, but if your fold is smaller, then you may have to use a .75in font. Fold the hat the way you like then measure the size. Use a font that will then fit that area.
Each machine (even the exact same model) has it's own tension settings. There are internal mechanics that dictate what the tension setting should be. Check your manual because there should be a recommended range for your machine. I have a video to show you how to set your tension on a Brother Machine, but the technique can be applied to any machine. Do a search for The Baby's Booty Tension
I just embroidered a beanie and it had quite a bit of lurex in it and I set it up exactly like you did on sticky stabilizer. The height of the font is 1 1/2 inches and when it was done, the letters moved a lot when I pulled across the beanie. I thought I did everything right. Any help you can give me would be great. This is for a customer.
Don't pull or stretch the beanie. Make sure you are using cutaway stabilizer, and practice first! Don't dive right into embroidering on the customer's items. Try a similar hat to test first!
What type of backing are you using under the embroidery right before you start stitching ? You said water soluble but what’s it called, it looks transparent I just can’t find the right match?
Shannon Margaret it would depend on the beanie. most of the beanies I've done for children have the fold up lip that I embroider on. Because the lip flips up, the back of the stitching is up against the front of the Hat, not the child's head. if I did do a beanie that did not flip up, then yes. I try to cover the back of the design whenever it would come in contact with the child's skin. 👍🏽 ☺ Excellent question! Thanks for watching our videos!
Shannon Margaret I have been doing structured ball caps lately. Ironically, one regular customer told me today he's bringing me trucker hats this week. 😄 I will definitely try to get a video done. 👍🏽 Thank you, and you have a great week as well!
+kris wilson stick the looped end of the ribbon thru the hole of the binky, then open up the ribbon and put the clip part thru the ribbon. Then pull it through.
Eve, did you digitize name to be embroider upside down or move the design on screen? I'm confused; not from your instructions; but I just don't get it. I watched twice but don't fully understand. Maybe I'll watch when I'm at my machine. I'm so used to embroiling on flat pieces of fabric. You should see mentoring to embroidery a name on the cuff of Christmas stockings.
+Marian Rooth In this project I digitized it upside down. However, you can rotate the design in the machine's settings before embroidering if you have a right side up design already.
Eve I'm glad you were able to understand my message, even with the wrong typing. I don't know how to digitize designs. But I understand what you answered me and I watched your two other Tutorials on the hat hoop attachment and the rotating a design. I'm 74 and trying to embroider for fun. I hope to learn to digitize designs; but I have to learn with these pre installed designs first. Thank you for helping me. I do love your tutorials.
+Raciel Castillo the easiest to find stabilizer is the sulky brand. It's called Solvy. Otherwise, I have an Amazon affiliate link in the description that takes you to my Amazon shopping list. Solvy is listed there. 👍🏽
You make it so easy. I send all the people I see wanting to do this here, to you. Thank you.

Thank you. I have been having trouble embroidering our logo onto the toques with the brim. The knit moves and stitching has been bunching. I will try the cutaway stabilizer and the pins.
Love your tutorials. Great for a newbie like myself. Can you please share with me which needle to use?
The general needle size for most projects I use is a 90/14
@@TheBabysBooty thank you for such a prompt response❤🌹
Would you recommend using sticky stabilizer for the beanies so you don't have to pin so much?
If you would like to, yes it can be used. However, I suggest cutaway stabilizer on beanies.

what's your tension settings when you did this embroidery? looks amazing.
I am struggling with the image size.
Awesome, thanks

Would you use these same instructions for an infant cap?

instead of pins, how about using a low tach spray glue, would this work ?
seem if so it would be easier then pinning
Do you have to adjust your thread tension with a beanie vs a shirt?
Great viddy thanks! Is that a 4x4 hoop or a 5x7?
Thanks again!
4x4

hi. what size do you embroider your letters.
What size needle do you use? Also what is the tension?

Can you do a video on how to digitize an image to load to the machine please?
I do have a few videos upcoming for digitizing.
What type of backing are you using under the embroidery right before you start stitching ? You said water soluble but what’s it called, it looks transparent I just can’t find the right match?
I’m having issues pinning not being able to get the pin to come to the top wants to stay down an touch back of beanie
When you do beanies for babies or smaller children do you put anything over the stitching (on the inside) ????
Shannon Margaret it would depend on the beanie. most of the beanies I've done for children have the fold up lip that I embroider on. Can you tell me what needle you used
Wanda Lesa I used a sharp 75/11.
+Wanda Lesa Yes ma'am, i used the sharp 75/11. That's my "go to" needle
How do you hold the baby lease with the baby binky
+kris wilson stick the looped end of the ribbon thru the hole of the binky, then open up the ribbon and put the clip part thru the ribbon. Then pull it through.
What weight of water soluble stabilizer do you use ? Light medium or heavy ? I just bought a heavy cause the lady at the store was clueless.
Would this method work well with crocheted beanies?
I have heard that crocheted beanies stitch out just as well, however you should use a font with thick letters.
Awesome, thank you!
