As many of you know, Ecoslay's Jello Shot is my holy grail gel. And y'all recently told me about the Jello Shot with Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic Combo and I had to try it out! But I have also been thinking about combining Jello Shot with NLS Flaxseed Curly Custard. Which one gives me the best results on my type 4 hair? Glycerin Free Combos? Do they last the whole week???? UFD has glycerin now.
Hey Nisha. I thought it was day 6. Everything held up really well. I can’t do the gel on top of gel combo. My routine is a cream underneath a gel. I had mentioned before that I get the absolute BEST wash and go results using Cantu’s Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream underneath the Jello Shot gel. Omg, I get many days out of that combination💯. Thanks for the video, Nisha🥰.

I really enjoy your combos videos as I'm always on the lookout for different looks. The UFD side did look like there was glycerin involved. I suppose one side is perfect for an immediate big hair look while the other would be better if you want to be sure to have at least 7 days.

I don’t like the crunch. Love UFD with EcoSlay JelloShot. “I like Big Hair and I cannot lie.” Hey, Hey!!!! I hear UFD’s formula changed and now has glycerin. I also heard it already had glycerin but that the label was wrong. I always thought it had glycerin just because of how it felt in my hair. They are having a 50% off sale right now. I got more, 🤞🏾 I like it.
I'm actually pissed that it seems like UFD has had glycerin in it for some years now. I guess I didn't really notice because I use glycerin free leave-ins and I never used UFD without another gel anyway. I guess this fall/winter I'll use up what I have underneath the rest of my eco styler or eco slay and never buy it again. Come next spring and summer, I'll just be using my Camille Rose Curl Maker and my Kinky Curly. Can't wait for the next Camille Rose $10 sale to stock up since UFD will no longer be in my rotation.
@@bklynbutters13 Same here! The curly custard does work well under the jello shot, but you will have more of a crunch than if you used the Uncle Funky curly magic. I haven't used UFD since the misleading ingredients list scandal. There are too many other good products to deal with the foolery and dishonesty.
@@bklynbutters13 I’m more concerned about how much protein is in it. I don’t mind the glycerin.
@@Listen2me400 I'm high porosity, so the protein is fine for me. The glycerin is the culprit when it comes to my hair. Either way though, they've been lying to both of us and putting our hair in unnecessary stress.

Hey Nisha!🖐🏾 Those combos are fire. I'm not a wng girl, now that my hair grown. I wonder how these would work for a twist out?🤔 UFD now contains glycerin(2nd ingredient) and hydrolyzed wheat protein.

Hi Nisha Thank you, perfect timing just recieved Jello Shot and I have Uncle Funky's Daughter curly magic. I tried UF alone this past week and boy I looked like a cotton ball picked apart , monsoon season here in AZ, but I agree not enough hold in any weather, now I remember why I did not like the first time I purchased sooo now I have a knew combo XXOO
That's because UFD has had glycerin as the 2nd ingredient for a long while now even though they never put it on the label. 🙄

You should try UFD under Big Poppa gel. Big Poppa has humidity resistant properties

Of the combos you’ve tried which are the best to pair with Jell-O shot? For me both hold and moisture are equally important. Saw you’ve used with the ecoslay deep conditioner and you’ve also said it works well with treluxe. Do you recommend one combo more than the other?

UFD has now added glycerin to their gel. Very disappointing...from my understanding, it's had glycerin for awhile.

Curly magic has been reformulated. It has glycerin now. 😭
It's becoming a growing controversy. UFD is saying it's just a label change for the whole line, no reformulations. Since that's their statement, some people think glycerin was always there but not disclosed. Messy situation!!
@@jeanninegorden8142 I heard about that! I hope for their sake that it was a reformulation because I feel like otherwise it would be illegal. I just know that I won’t be buying anymore. Mostly because if the protein in it than anything else.
Oh wow thanks for letting us know. To be honest I can kind of see the theory where glycerin has been there the whole time. My hair does get pretty voluminous with this gel like it would if it had a little bit of glycerin in it. 🤦🏾♀️

@@jessielandsburg2680 I know after a certain percentage you don't have to disclose ingredients, but I think that's for less than 5 or 1%. Also if you have proprietary ingredients you don't have to disclose that either. But with the new labels glycerin is high up so idk. It's prob some kind of loophole that will keep them from getting sued.

Also for more weight with the ufd, soaking wet, in the shower and no leavein. They’re both humectants. Unless hair is dehydrated, they work really well to keep hair hydrated.
@@Laysplace23 yeah she definitely didn’t need a leave in with UFD and the Jello Shot. If she would left the leave in out should would had more crunch feeling to her hair.
