    I owned a 72 Tiger...it did not have the rubber on the forks. I had it stock EXCEPT I ran Straight Pipes wit baffles...So loud and proud! Das 😎 all! ❤👍

      You have not seen any new bikes since 1950. That is patently obvious.

    1970 was probably the best year. The best front brake, the last and best iteration of the dry frame, breathes through the primary. I have a 1970 650 Tiger, which I personally prefer to the Bonneville. That is the wrong paint scheme and tank emblems, but who cares, it is beautiful.

    Had a 79 750 last year they imported them into the US it was nice, but had to go to Harley with electric start only paid 1999.oo for the Bonneville brand new

    I rode a BSA Hornet 650 in 1968-69. It's very similar to this Bonneville. Similar exhaust sound. I weighed 120lbs then, and ate XLCH 900 for breakfast. The local XLCH rider weighed close to 200 lbs.

      Actually it's not very similar (yes, they both had 650 engines and 2 wheels, but that's about where the similarity ends).

      @@davidberg4682 Lol, Same carburetors, similar OHV engines, similar weight, wheel base, brakes, tyres, mufflers, front and rear lights, etc.

      @@davidberg4682 They have same Amal carburators, similar OHV engines ( not the crank case and gear box), brakes, head and rear lights, mufflers, and Dunlop K Gold Seal tyres, similar handle bars, wheel base and weight, etc. They rode and handled very similarly.

    "No evidence the bike has ever been dropped." Wait until I get a hold of it. If I win the auction I'll probably drop it as I drive it off the lot. But that won't stop me from bidding. : ) Great-looking Triumph. I definitely want to buy my next bike from you guys, you seem to know what you're doing.

    Good to see somebody my size who are able to comfortably place their feet out in front of the foot pegs rather than behind them. 2nd owner since '73 of a '68 TR6R Trophy Sports. 14,430 miles on it since it's 2012 full restoration by Big D Cycle. 81318

    😢 still haunts me as a boy probably the most beautiful miter cycling I ever had but then Kawasaki came into the UK with the Z900 then all bets were off all I did was hang four into one Piper box in America they called in the chain saw or widow maker but I read and thank you for your posts!
    That speed twin is a lovely example but the valve clearance has s too much! I’m a engine builder but please don’t take it seriously ❤

    Nice bike, air cleaners are upside down holes should be on lower aspect so as not to let water in whilst stationar

    Bought a brand new one in 1969 for £360 It vibrated quite a bit and liked to blow bulbs.
    I went back to my BSA's DBD34, A7 Shooting Star and A10

    I had stay with me. I had a 1970 Triumph Spit-Fire, I match it up to a 1970 Triumph Tiger,which I prefered because the single carb was easier to live with. Car and bike best of both worlds.

    +1 for Montrose "Rock Candy" I had a T120R in the 70's. Dual Amal carbs. Press the tickle button until it squirts gas on your thumb and you are ready to start. Also known for marking their spot.

    I have a stock 64 tr6r all regular the way it left the factory. Also a stock 73tr7v that's still under 6500 miles. But hands down my favorite is the 64 and I have 7 more that are from that time except my fxstd.

    It was a mistake going to 750cc and changing the frame. Heavier and the bike vibrated more. The 650s were actually faster and smoother. If only the oil would stay inside the engine!

    Loved British bikes. Preferred BSA over others. Got one to relive my younger days but ended up selling it. I have grown larger since the 60s and look like a bear riding a tricycle. Back to the Goldwing.

    Is there any record of the lowest odometer on one of these, I have a 1970 650 Bonnie I’ll I inherited, completely factory original front to rear, with 18 original miles on the Odometer. Just curious to see where my
    Bike stacks up compared to some of the finest out there given it’s state and condition. nice bike man!

      I guess mine did as well somewhere once upon a time. I mostly have just the motor and front part of the frame, everything else is aftermarket and home made. I’ve had that much since 1979

      That’s real cool to be able to do. It’s cool to make a ‘ change out ‘ bike. Set it up one way this year, set it a different way next year. Underneath it’s the same basic bike.
      I have all the parts to make it look like 1982 but I’m setting it up different. But I don’t have the parts to make it original.
