It's probably an underrated opinion, but knowing the impact of Tara on gale, I wonder why she haven't been included in the camp. Maybe not as a compagnon herself, but given how important she is when you play Gale in his playthrough. To see how our character would have acted if they had attended several dialogues between Tara and Gale would have been interesting. Especially how it could have impact a little more his storyline, especially when it comes to his decisions and self-confidence.
Well say you have an aunt that has been a great influence in your life, doesn't mean you need her tagging along at your job and business trip and wherever you go. Tera got places to be and Gale is all grown up.
Tara will be a part of your camp if you're playing as Gale, and if not, I guess it's implied that they just commune in secret from other party members. Tara is Gale's familiar, after all. She don't have a lot of topics to discuss with weirdos Gale spend time with.
Not to mention that Tara seems to be key to Gale's redemption arc. She has a hold over Gale that Tav doesn't have. She can actually talk some sense into him.
On the other hand I kinda feel like many those NPCs that are there in the camp don't really have to be there all the time. They don't react on events, they don't update their dialogues, so they basically just there as a decorum.
That’s part of why playing Gale is cool. He has a best friend you get to hang out with! You don’t necessarily get to meet your friends’ friends all the time
I feel like his arc is very underrated and not appreciated enough truth be told. Gale is actually a pretty good representation of being depressed in a way that people don't notice, with all his cheery demeanor on the outside while dealing with horrible, horrible shit on the inside, both literally and figuratively. Granted, the orb is a direct consequence of his decision-making, but still, nobody deserves such a horrible fate, and him desiring the crown of Karsus comes not just from point of pride, but I believe it's also born from feeling of inadequacy, of the fear of not actually being enough, because he feels like he already was not enough once, not enough for Mystra. And not being enough is a nightmare for an overachiever like Gale. In times like that having an honest friend like Tara helps immensely
@@digitaldevil696 Perfectly said! I love Gale for all those reasons you mentioned, and he's such a realistic character.
