They don't make any sense, and if you focus on the canon it makes sense, say that these two are in a "relationship", good for both Alastor and Lucifer would have to learn how to be in a stable relationship (Lucifer should already know what it is like to be in a stable relationship but Lilith left him very bad both emotionally and physically)And Alastor never had a partner until what was mentioned in Hazbin Hotel, so it would be a way to learn how to be in a relationship.Therefore, both learn from each other but let's not go outside the canon. Alastor would be with Lucifer for something in his favor, such as being the king of hell. Alastor manipulating Lucifer by making him fall into his trap so that he ends up being the "king" of hell is an example of what he could take advantage of. By the way, Lucifer is having emotional problems And physics too, and Alastor could help you get out of what we call depression
