I started cursing from the age of 11 because of the influence of the people I surrounded myself with, now im a teen and haven't stopped since, it's actually gotten worse.

I used to when I was younger but I honestly didn't like it so a few years ago, I try not to swear much and as time went on, the more cleaner my words were. Same. I'm uncomfortable (to an extent, not as uncomfortable as I used to) cursing in front of people. And it doesn't even pop up in my head and I love that! Whenever the person I'd be talking to curses I'll be like "Oh yeah, cursing, that's a thing people do". Yet I freely do it when I'm alone. I'm not scared of curse words like before and I kinda don't like that. Maybe I need to talk to people more? Hopefully me socializing will get rid of this stinkin' habit.

I love how it he says he swore way to much and had a sailors mouth but then said he swore ten times a day like that’s nothing. Like in aus people drop an f bomb every few words
The only reason I do it is because I am angry or frustrated. I don't swear around people except my child but she is the only one that sees me angry. If I step on a toy or if I get hurt, if we are running late, if we are running late and there is traffic, etc.
Not good. The child will see swearing as normal and use it at school and reflect poorly on you. Hope you can cut it out!

I used to look down on people that swore allot back when I didn't used to. It's crazy how easy it is to think it doesn't sound trashy when it's coming out of your own mouth. Like the expression "he thinks his sh*t doesn't stink. Someone I highly respect happened to politely mention how often I swear and I suddenly started REALLY thinking about it. Please wish me luck on this goal to stop swearing so much. It won't be easy since everyone in my family does it (even around each other) and it's become a deeply engrained habit for me.

i remember i never used to swear, i used to be the one guy who everyone knew didn't swear and on the extremeley rare occasions when i would due to wanting to feel a part of the conversation or wanting to sound cool or whatever, everyone would give me an awkward look, one from me actually swearing and two, from how awkward i would sound from forcing the curse word to leave my mouth.
i want to go back to those days where i felt i was being a good human being and setting a good example to those who looked up to me so hopefully i can do it, again.
1) Better planning (replace the words with something neutral)
2) professional accountability (take yourself serious)
3) activate positive social support (look up to people who don't swear)
4) meaningful incentive (look at your own reputation and improve it/ no great leader used swear words)
5) the big deadline ( give away a hundred bucks everytime you swear)

I'm a high school student and I live in a very religious area so I've been trying to avoid swearing to not offend people, but I've noticed because of constant exposure to swearing at home (it's a casual thing) it's been becoming tougher in public. (Especially since my brother goes to my school) I know students who swear a lot more than me and often hate how they sound, but I realize I'm being a hypocrite. Also, I want to maintain my habit of not swearing in public but I sometimes slip with close friends. At home, I usually don't care, but now I want to stop swearing at all before I say something I regret.

Almost every day at work, I hear my fellow employees using swear words and I don’t think it’s appropriate at all. And from what I learned is that using swear words can get anyone in deep trouble and possibly fired. I can think of various reasons why people keep on swearing 🤬.
1. They probably woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
2. They probably had a bad relationship with another person.
3. They had anger issues and didn’t find a solution to their anger issues. But whatever the reason is, the swearing 🤬 has to stop 🛑 for good.

When I was a 7th grader in Jr High ( Grades 7-9) I told people to stop swearing then in my 8th and 9th grade year I thought it was cool to swear and began doing it. My Sophomore year in Highschool I realized I needed to change but I was too lazy so I kept swearing. I’m now a month into my junior year now realizing I need to really put forth an effort into keeping clean language again.

These replacement words might help.
For the F word you can use freak, fudge, or buck. Buck because it sounds like the f word to me.
For the s word you can shiz or shizzle.
For basterd use biscuits 😋

I think swearing just stops as you age.
When you're 10 - 16ish, it feels cool and clever.
But then you reach the age of around 18, where it just starts to look a bit creepy or sad.
Once you're 20 or above, I found I only ever swore when I hurt myself.
I’m sixteen, it doesn’t feel cool. It’s feels foolishness to say such words. It bothers me each time I say one.
I actually just sweared forgetting my mom was in the house . I convinced her that I actually said “what the freak” . I wanted to stop but it became a habit . It would just come out of my mouth when i didn’t mean for it to . Today was a wake up call for me
I find this video very educational and helpful. Saying swear words is not only disturbing and upsetting but it’s immoral and unruly. Almost every day at work, I hear certain employees saying swear words and I find it upsetting and dislike it. So how do I deal with people who use swear words? Well I simply tune them out and pretend that I didn’t hear anything.
