Into my other hobby, more on Travel talaga ako inspired my Tito who is aiming to Travel around the world. Nakita ko itong Punnuk Festival in Hungduan Ifugao. Malapit sa Banaue, Sagada, Bontoc..
For me, isa ito sa best na festival na napuntahan ko. Kasi karamihan ng festival dito sa Pinas, masyadong madaming tao na at hindi masyado naeejoy yung festival. Pero dito, ramdam na ramdam yung festival plus yung culture!
From Banaue, may jeep na papuntang Hungduan or pede kayo mag rent ng Tricycle pag maaga kayo nakadating ng Banaue.
Punnuk Festival is a post harvest festival ng mga Taga Hungduan, tatlong barangay ang nag paparticipate dito:
Barangays Baang, Nunggulunan, and Hapao.
Per barangay, may kanya kanya silang rice terraces at sa middle ng tatlong barangay, merong ilog. Dun nila ginagawa yung festival. Mostly walk and ritual sila papunta sa river then mga palaro like tug of war tsaka patagalan ng sisid sa tubig etc., after non is nag papakain sila.
Ramdam ko dito yung tightness ng culture. Ramdam ko yung festival, ramdam ko yung environment. Ramdam kong masarap maging pilipino.
Itinerary
Day 0:
8PM @ Cubao Coda Line bound to Sagada Banaue
Day1:
5AM: Banaue Townproper rent a Tricycle as Jeep to Hungduan is @ 8AM
side trip to Banaue Rice Terraces View Deck
7AM: Arrived to Hungduan, eat then preparing to go to the festival
8AM till 12PM - Festival Proper
1PM - Rest and planning to headback to Banaue
*highly recommended to stay atleast 2 days and 1 night for Hungduan to experience their culture and the environment*
3PM - Banaue Bound
