You know I went to Germanna. Back then the Fredericksburg campus didnt exist. I drove from colonial beach va ...back and forth. I was a single parent LPN. Broke as could be with dreams of becoming an RN. I was an honor student at Germanna too... working full time, driving miles upon miles, I had 3 a month old child, worked every weekend on my job in a nasty nursing home to take classes to make this dream happen. I met with Patti Lisk during an interview for the RN program and I was denied despite my being an LPN, honor roll student, and enormous drive physically and mentally. Im still an lpn 56 and single. I also have a masters in Education but my dream was to be an RN. You took that from me despite all I mentioned here. I had everything you would want. I think you denied me bc I was a young single mother even though I still had honors status at Germanna and was an LPN. There wasn't anything on paper that would have prevented me from being accepted. It was pure judgment also known as discrimination.
She is an inspiration, role-model, and mentor to many. She will be greatly missed.
