Fun fact: American P-47 pilots in Europe during WW2 would sometimes fill spare external fuel tanks with milk and sugar, fly up really high and do a bunch of wild maneuvers. They would then land and cut open the fuel tank and find ice cream hidden inside. So your plan for making ice cream is actually totally legit.

Freezing ice cream in an aircraft is not as far-fetched as you would think
In North Africa, pilots would rap Coke bottles in wet cloth and put them between there wing struts before a flight. If they were flying at night, (which rarely happen) they could've done the same thing to freeze cream, seeing as how cold the desert is at night
Btw I hope you see this but I really love your channel and all of your friends. You guys make me laugh all the time and make me always wanting to come back to you and the game. Keep it up.
I believe refrigeration tech was already pretty well developed by this time period. Any difficulty in maintaining refrigerated goods on the frontline was probably logistical in nature.
I'm pretty sure they had refrigerated train cars, and they may even have had refrigerated trucks.
The first household refrigerators (as in, pump cooled) had already existed for around 20 years at least.
And if all else fails, making ice in a desert shouldn't be too hard. Just bring some water and leave it out at night. We often think of deserts as hot, but that's only when the sun is up.

Amusingly, it looks like Loli was onto something about using a plane to make it. It sounds like bomber crew's may have infact mixed their own ice cream.
I have this mini bully too, and I have the same issues with it: ridiculously slow turret, high B.R. (- many higher tanks it can't pen.), gunner does everything in the turret (loading, aiming). But in its "comfort-zone" it can be really fun to play.
So, regarding the whole ice cream in the desert scenario... It's actually possible. You need a jug, preferably metal but clay or glass will work, some cloth, water, and sunlight for several hours. Oh, and what you want to freeze. Put the stuff you want frozen in the jug. Wrap it in cloth, and wet the cloth down thoroughly with water. Put it in sunlight. Whenever the cloth dries, turn the dry part away from the sun and wet it again. Keep doing this for as long as it takes. Eventually, what's in the container will freeze.
This is because the water's phase change in evaporating requires more energy than it receives from the sun, which means it draws it from the surrounding water, cloth, and jug. All the other bits of cloth and water are doing the same thing, so most of the heat gets drawn from the jug, which gets colder. Thermodynamics!
Ice cream in the desert, you used CO2 to make the cold. The CO2 fire suppression system from the tank would suffice...

BO you made me go look up WW2 Ice cream and yes it was there. A key strategic resource for front line troops. Here's a quote from an article I found:
"In 1942, as Japanese torpedoes slowly sank the U.S.S. Lexington, then the second-largest aircraft carrier in the Navy’s arsenal, the crew abandoned ship-but not before breaking into the freezer and eating all the ice cream. Survivors describe scooping ice cream into their helmets and licking them clean before lowering themselves into the Pacific. By 1943, American heavy-bomber crews figured out they could make ice cream over enemy territory by strapping buckets of mix to the rear gunner’s compartment before missions. Also pretty sure ice as a traded commodity have been a thing for quite some time. It was just while ice could be transported it was hard to keep other things cool. I seem to recall people would just import ice itself then keep things cool locally rather than trying to send something elsewhere and keeping it cool.
I realise being late you aren't likely to see this but maybe someone else will and they'll enjoy the ice cream related knowledge.

Considering the US Navy was making ice cream on aircraft carriers and battleships in the middle of the Pacific, I think ice cream could be made in the desert during WWII.
late, but after 18 inches the ground stays about 55 degrees and increases slowly at about 1000 feet the temp is around 180 degrees I worked in a mine in West Virginia and this was typical

I watched this video and saw the tank running straight into the artillery at A, so why do you say "sorry"? Artillery is not invisible, you see a small red cross and freaking large explosions before it start to rain down, and it strange how folk still think it is a good idea to run straight in to that and then get mad for they play so stupid that a teammate are losing points.
I know this video is old, but just a tips for all players are to look for the small blinking cross on the map and bo not run towards the explosions, just wait until it is over.

Hey Bo, I've been playing War Thunder intermittently for years now and I love watching your videos but I have to ask, how often do you get one shot by a gun you never saw in your first tank of a round?
Because I swear 75% of my games are exactly that, especially with the Brits, but even in my Jumbo's i'm getting penned by 75mm guns through the front.
Whats the secret to surviving?
It happens. I honestly develop habits of going ways that I feel comfortable and efficient on each map. Keeping the angles to a minimum and the clear sight lines down as much as possible but also knowing where the enemy tends to come from and where your cover is.
Any chance you could do a video on those ways? Would love to see more tactics from the best-worst Squad out there.

Funny story, Loli. You were basically right about making ice cream with planes.
Supposedly some plane crews stowed the ice cream mix on their planes, where it would get cooled and shaken during their mission, providing fresh ice cream once they got back to base.

I am so sorry for the wait. So many crazy things have happened to delay the project. A video like that usually takes me 40 to 60 hours of work. With me getting injured (twice now), A Hurricane/property damage, Bismarck had an emergency, etc, etc. It just blew my timetable for the video to pieces. Trust me, no one is more frustrated than me. I have 7 podcasts lined behind this one and I need to get over this hurdle to get the ball rolling again. Thank you for asking.

I have tried 3 days this week to get a DB-7 video. Every time I fly I am jumped by 5 or plus enemy planes who recognize me and get cursed/taunted out of the skies. I am trying again today to get some planes but it has been nearly impossible to stay in the air with the amount of attention we get anymore. Sorry, I am not a god who can fight multiple planes vs me lol

thi tran no, you can even put axis stuff on allied tanks.
But the decals that really represent the country like the White Star of the US, the Red Sun of the Japanese, the German Cross or the British RAF roundel are all blocked to their countries. Only the regimental symbols are able to put on other nations but other than that they all blocked after a new patch.
