  • Dr. Lydia Otero is a historian, writer and queer-activist who, over the years, has saved an impressive number of articles, date books, flyers and more in their personal collection. Lydia’s archive caught our attention after their article "My Archive: 20 Years of Los Angeles’ LGBTQ+ Movement" appeared in High Country News, documenting their queer activism in the Latinx community of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Public Library’s Special Collections knew that Lydia’s archive would be an invaluable addition to the collection.
Today, the Los Angeles Public Library is the proud institutional home of the Lydia R. Otero Archive.

This is wonderful Lydia! I met you about 20 years ago or so via Susana Moreno. Congratulations to you and our Queer comunidad en Los! Can't wait to visit the archives.

I have a 3DS I tried connecting to public library but I researched that Nintendo consoles are incapable with wifi networks that require terms and agreements. The 3DS can connect to access point but the world wide Internet is incompatible because the Nintendo technology can't connect with the public Wi-Fi that require agreement with terms and conditions. There is stores with old and used and past generation videogame consoles that can be connected to the public library Wi-Fi. Maybe the Los Angeles Public Libraries can have WiFi compatible Internet for past generation consoles that can connect to the Internet and make the wifi connection able for these videogame systems.
