Good point, also true random number generators (like proper true) and things like that. Seems like a lot of the concern for encryption comes from QC being able to bypass traditional methods.

Always make people work as hard to take your money as you did to earn it. Don't gamble. Have a methodology. If your methodology says, "I will invest 5% of my AUM in stocks I find compelling over a P/S of 100 that are being heavily hyped," then fine. See how that rule fares over time. Adjust accordingly. ;)

Well, remember that hype can really rocket. Seriously, we've learned that trying to call a top is next to impossible. Most important lesson here. Establish your own set of rules. Start small. Follow them. Refine them. Rinse and repeat ;) And no FOMO and no regrets. :)
Good chance to discover what quantum phenomena is. Quantum computer is not omnipotent, but especially good at quantum problems such as quantum chemistry to develop a new drug or material where we need to solve quantum physics equations.

Machine learning relies on data and computing power. Current solutions face issues with data quality and computational resources. Quantum computers can train algorithms faster, so software blocking quantum seems misguided. In fact, I believe it’s the opposite.
Two things here. Never invest in a company unless you have already decided when you plan to sell. Start making your investing process more rules based to remove the emotion out of the equation. You'll sleep a whole lot better.

Great question. Our past research shows that we noted their point about related party revenues which was very legitimate. That has since changed which is good for IONQ. Not sure what Scorpion's thoughts are now. We've found their reports to be hit or miss.

All the quantum stocks have been suddenly roaring the past month, maybe due to a series of advancements in the field and government funding in the field. IONQ's recent big Air Force contract also probably helped. Also, I wonder if Trump's victory increased sentiment for the field considering how much he wants to stay ahead of China in new technologies. But I think lowly QUBT's stock triple last week on a measly deal is the best sign of how insane the quantum stock hype has gotten recently, and it's quite funny how they then immediately capitalized on it by doing a big share offering which tanked the stock a bit. Seems like it would be crazy for IONQ to not do a share offering at these prices. I also enjoy watching Sabine H.'s critical videos of the quantum field, and it's funny timing how the quantum stocks started ripping just after her video "The Quantum Computer Collapse Has Begun" last month.
Thing is we've seen these hype cycles before for QC and the result is always the same. Things simmer down when the apes move on to something else. QUBT is absolutely horrible, so much so we didn't even include it in this piece. Yeah you are right about share offering and you just know that few speculators pay attention to the dilution that happens during these events.
Objectively it's hyped beyond what would be considered acceptable. Of course that's not to say the ape kingdom doesn't pump it even higher. However, fundamentals need to catch up or we will see mean reversion.

The genius part about this method is that one of two things happen. 1) The fundamentals have an "NVIDIA moment' and growth just goes through the roof. US defense main purpose is not Q computing, but Q networking. Current IonQ Q computer is too small, but a 32 qubit was installed in Swiss as a hybrid type. We may get some useful application there.

I know you don't "trade", but do you not see how easy money could be made in this overvaluation of ionq up or down? Market exuberance surprises everyone, you talked about pltr's overvaluation in almost every video I've ever heard you mention them in yet they 3×ed, bubble money is still money irrational or not. There is no "easy money." People who suggest that mislead investors. We talked down on PLTR? We take the same red flag approach to ALL companies we analyze. We have a consistent refined methodology based on decades of academic and industry experience that reduces risk and helps people become better investors. Valuation (simple valuation ratio) is a key part of that for tech stocks because of their inherent volatility. We invest in companies, not stocks. We don't short hyped names because the herd will behave irrationally for far longer than your margin limits can tolerate. We don't speculate on future share prices unless they're based on relative valuation targets. We're simply presenting facts so that newbie investors who are being strung along by hype can learn something about valuation.
Also regarding your comment on puts, lots of people pursue those strategies (they are less risky than shorting) but we are of the belief that most retail investors should not be dabbling in options. It's a very bad idea. Lead by example.

IONQ does have revenue - and growth - but a herd of brainless apes ruined it for everyone by pumping the crap out of it. So either one of two things happen. The valuation adjusts because the fundamentals catch up, or we see a reversion to the mean.
So far, IonQ computer is too small though it functions well. Next year high capacity 64 qubit will be released. i think they made it already, now just some final touch including software development.

Good point. There is a TON going on in this industry beyond just the three very visible names that went public via SPAC.
The highest analyst price target is $22 and it's now nearly $30. So no thanks, I'll pass, lol.

Valuation (simple valuation ratio) is a key part of that for tech stocks because of their inherent volatility. We invest in companies, not stocks. We don't short hyped names because the herd will behave irrationally for far longer than your margin limits can tolerate. Also regarding your comment on puts, lots of people pursue those strategies (they are less risky than shorting) but we are of the belief that most retail investors should not be dabbling in options. It's a very bad idea. Lead by example.

even if there was revenue. this whole quantum computing and quantum physics thing seems bogus and just a thought experiment. wouldn’t touch any stock in this segment before they prove some real world benefit
IONQ does have revenue - and growth - but a herd of brainless apes ruined it for everyone by pumping the crap out of it. So either one of two things happen. The valuation adjusts because the fundamentals catch up, or we see a reversion to the mean.
So far, IonQ computer is too small though it functions well. Next year high capacity 64 qubit will be released. i think they made it already, now just some final touch including software development.
