- This is a short video about this beautiful amplifier, the Technics SU-8600. The amp boast 73 WPC into 8ohms with a 0.08 THD. It was built like a tank between the years 1976-1978. I am planning to sell this one for $650.00. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks for checking the channel and please subscribe.
I'm listening to your SU-8600 through my SU-8600.
-I found one thrown out and it was working, i could not believe my luck . PS Thanks !
You are on the lucky side. Those are a Jem! 🙂
MSRP 1978 was $375. Prices have skyrocketed for well built vintage Japanese HiFi. Also, nice to see people refurbishing quality amplifiers and release for veteran and amateur hobbyists. 8600 Much better built than the newer Chinese Solid state equivalents.
This amp is amazing i have the rack mount version. The spectrum of sound this amp is ridiculous. Thanks for the video!
It really is! Thanks for the comment! :-)
Yes, a real beauty. Got the SU- 7700, 8080, 8022 (my first HiFi) and the SU/SE 90xx.
All pre-CD era.
Great to hear. Thanks for sharing! 🤗

Claro que si! Esta es una joya de equipo. Gracias por comentar, esta semana voy a subir un par de videos de algo en lo que estoy trabajando! 🙂
Very nice review, Felix!
Thank you! 🙂
How does it sound without the loudness switch? 🙂
It still sounds pretty good. However, the loudness provides a very unique and pleasant punch. Overall, the amp is understated by many. Thanks for the question and comment, please check my other videos and subscribe, if possible. Thanks! 🙂
Will these handle 4 ohm speakers?
Yes, this is from Hi-Fi-Engine - Load impedance Main, Remote : 4 Ω ~ 16 Ω - Main + Remote : 8 Ω ~ 16 Ω. I hope this helps! 🙂
@@suckerforvintageaudio9449 Thanks
80w @ 4ohm
@@ChiTownDoubleUp23 thanks so much
@@ChiTownDoubleUp23I got Tekton Set 15's now. I have a switch so I can use the Tech solid state or my set tube amp. Some music sounds better on one and others on another
