I just love you guys and your ministry. It is obvious that the Holy Spirit is leading you because some of the hints and hacks you discuss, I have not seen anywhere else. You make it easy and practical. God bless you.
If the worst happens, and you have to wash your hands in this manner, unhook the drain to the sink and capture the gray water in a bucket. It can be used for many things. If there’s just soap in it, you can water plants with it. It can be used for washing other things other than your body. Blessings to all!
Cody Lundin (The barefooted Dual Survivor guy) recommended a book called the Survivors by Terrence DesPres (spelling?). The book talks about victims of work camps and concentration camps and the methods of dehumanizing the prisoners. One was the lack of hygiene and personal value. It is an old book and Terrence holds a liberal world view so I don't recommend it to the weak of spirit. However it shows in detail what you are talking about here. Read with caution.
Hydrated lime (slaked lime), such as is sold at building supply stores for use in mortar. It comes in paper bags that usually weigh 50+ pounds. Adding a dusting of this to the compost pile can help also. But for application to soil, raw limestone is better. Hydrated lime is limestone (calcium carbonate) that has been kept in the fire for about 3 days, and then slaked with water, resulting in calcium hydroxide.
