pretty reasonable interview! good job Vice, and I must say Carol was a beautiful moving work of art, a great love story, both Rooney and Carol were superb, I felt it was a great indie/art house film. If you just discovered Todd Haynes as I have and are a fan of Julianne Moore then "Far from Heaven" is jut the film for you especially as its a tribute to old school Hollywood films of Douglas sirk. I now want to see Safe and Velvet Goldmine and his film about Karen Carpenter.
Gotta admit that Velvet Goldmine was one superb movie. Some music that deserved to be brought back into the light of the modern day. That was probably one of the best soundtracks that I can recall.(I totally forgot about Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, I remember my dad listening to that song, this was of his era), more than a few shocking moments that had me reflexively cry out in shock while I quickly covered my eyes (sorry, male gay shyt freaks me out. . . but I'm not hatin', just can't watch it). I'll just pretend that I didn't see a pedo scene in there either (appropriately accompanied by a Gary Glitter song, lol, poor Gary, makes you wonder if the director has prescient powers because I dont think that was accidental). I'll assume both were actors and the scene was fictional and, erm, consensual. . .ahem. The attention to detail on the costumes was amazing. It wasn't a perfect storyline as it seemed to be about the pursuit and exposure of someone that was trying to leave their past life and people behind, I struggled to see the need to hunt them down and expose them for it. It was somewhat of an 'outing', but it did serve to create the frame upon which this story was told, and I liked it so much that I bought it on DVD and don't care who knows that I have a really gay movie in my stash. I still cant watch the male-on-male kissin' scenes without turning my head and twitching tho. . . "10 feet tall better walk it back down. . ."
Carol is one of his weakest films. So wanted to love the movie, but it didn’t click for me… I didn’t feel the two leads chemistry and I wasn’t impressed by Cate like I usually am. I don’t know what everyone else sees in this.
Definitely, mine too. It's arguably the most talked about film of 2015. Impeccable performances, gorgeous cinematography and costume design plus the beautiful scores, CAROL was exquisitely made by this genius called TODD HAYNES👍👍👍
Carol is such a beautiful film, nobody could have done it better than Todd
he's fascinating, and the interviewer is amazing, congrats! velvet goldmine is surely in my top 5 favourite films of all time
Would LOVE a Velvet Goldmine Criterion release!

Did someone watched the video about the school teacher's secrets? They took it down before I watched it.
+MEGAMILK It's basically her just cussing out her bad students.

WOW!
"They probably never even heard of Kurt Cobain!" I guess Todd Haynes isn't that important to Vice, because they sent an intern to interview him.
Why is every vice comment section absolute cancer?
+Golden Glazed
Because it's on UA-cam, where ALL comment sections are absolute cancer? O_o
So many philistines on this comment thread
+William Devin Masters Thank you, clever hipster douchebag.
its still possible for this not to come across as pompous when its finished. not probable
